DIRECTV for Tablets

If it would work for more than 30 seconds -5 minutes at time that would be great. The overall design works fine which is why it gets 2 stars. The actual streaming performance of it sucks, I love watching a news story and right when they are getting to the meat of it having the app crash out. I have plenty of bandwidth so that is not the issue.

Love that it doesn't use my data anymore. Hate that it tells me some channels aren't in my package when they are. Watched 3 episodes of a show and when I tried to watch the 4th, app said it was available on my tablet, it said that channel wasn't part of my package. I could still watch the other episodes though.

Great app. I am having issues right now. Keeps telling me I have no Internet but all my other apps work. Other than today,it's been great. I am giving it 5stars even w/ this issue because I'm sure it will be fixed as soon as I figure out why it's doning it.

Dose not work on my tablet. Works on phone and is nice but is clunky gos off all the time and has to relunch every time a show ends. Great start with free streming with at&t but needs bugs cleand up so its works like tv at home

I cannot believe that after 2 years you still don't have an app that works with the Samsung 10.1 tablet which is probably the most sold tablet in the world! Now I get a message that says it doesn't work with my OS Android 4.1.1 ??? Say whaaaattttt??? Maybe your programmers have heard of it, it's called Android.... Maybe give Netflix a call and see if they can help you out their app works perfectly! Update: 1/25/2017 Still get "OS not supported". 2/1/2017 Unsupported OS. Thanks assholes!

Where to start. I love the idea of downloading shows from my DVR to watch later, however how do I do that when the app keeps shutting down during download? The app also shuts down when trying to watch anything whether it is live TV or DVR shows. It also always throws messages that I am not connected to the Internet when I am and it always wants me to log in when it should be remembering my login info. GET YOU ACT TOGETHER AT&T!!!

Worst App Ever!!! First it went recognize when I'm at home. It won't authenticate so I can download my DVR content. AND when I do try and watch something live or on demand it will cut off completely! It would easier to use the website. What the heck is the point of the app if its totally useless!?!?!

Gotta say that I am not impressed with the selection of shows and movies listed. The shows are fairly common, but the seasons and episodes are totally random as to which are available and most of the shows listed are several season or more behind the current seasons. You'll get a better selection from Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc...

It use too work fine on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. After upgrading it now says OS system not supported and won't open the app at all. Please fix or go back to the older version that actually worked.

App started out great. Then lost sync with my dvr .. BOOM local channels gone. Now the app will not even open. I have deleted it and reinstalled several times to no avail.

Most of the time it will not let me watch on my tablet. It keeps saying it's not working & when I try to write a comment ith won't let me. Like right now I had to update it & now it won't let me open it to watch for something g I'm paying for I'm not a happy camper at all.

Direct TV doesn't work with AT&T there's no communication between the two false advertising.? Need help can't get any well consider new TV service..

I'm no longer tethered to the program guide. Thanks to DirecTV, I can manage my preferred events and shows to meet my schedule, and binge watch my favorite series' at my leisure. Awesome app!

I do not like this app! Why, because it doesn't work. Even when I updated the app from Google play store it still doesn't work. Can anybody help me out??? Yike...its driving crazy trying to figure out why app not working...Help!!!

Works great out in my shop thru wifi. Like having a TV right where I woodwork. Hubby can watch his war shows in the house, I do DIY in the shop. Awesome! Great App!

Your app is crap. Can't connect to DVR. Can't download. When I do get something downloaded, it often doesn't play on the tablet. Going on line and offline makes the app useless. You have to download a fresh copy on to the tablet once a week to make the app usable. App often shuts down as soon as you press playlist. Then you need to install fresh copy for it to work. Give us the android phone app platform. that seems to work half ways. Do you have beta testers, or do you just float something and hope it works? REALLY BAD APP!!! Google Pixel C Tab, Android 7.1.1. Installed, but failed to recognize my user id. Several attempts followed by password change. No go, and I don't believe that I made any mistakes. This was a fresh install on my new Samsung tablet.

It's okay once you figure it out, but there are still things that I should be able to do that I haven't figured out. The FAQs are almost worthless, but are still better than a kick in the balls. But not much better.

My only complaint is having Taylor Swift show up EVERY TIME I open the app! Wish her Taylor Swift now wasn't on the home page!

App is pretty good and works great 90% of the time. The down side is when it stops streaming to tell me that there's a problem with my connection. Check my connection and then relaunch.

Keeps telling me to relaunch app no network connection. But I do have a connection! I have my WiFi and data on. Something is wrong with this app. Worked fine couple days ago

Once again I'm on the road. Once again I can't watch the shows I downloaded to my tablet! Says video streaming is notavailable. Keeps flashing themessage, then reboots my tablet. New update,same crap. Still can't select SD card to download shows.

Garbage. I cannot register my tablet because this app refuses to connect to my HR44 which is on the same network. Absolutely useless. I had better luck with the genie go.

If the app didn't crash on me every time I start watching on my tablet I would give 5 stars. I was so excited to be able to watch from my tablet and now it crashes every 2 minutes. Directv, please fix this.

I have AT&T / directv app data free bells & whistles on tablet YET it won't allow me to watch on here .. keeps telling me to connect to Internet .. I have 4G .. how much more connected do I have to be .. app worked fine this afternoon .. what happened ?

Constantly fails on DVR downloads and replays, had to reauthorize access to the DVR more than 6 times which erases any shows downloaded. Oh it has these mystery messages about DVR busy, can't connect, the latest one relative my tablet not having an Internet connection. If that's so you wouldn't be reading this message. If it worked consistently it would be great, but it don't... Obviously a beta product posing as a completed app... A lot of work needs to be done...

Well this app was ok until I upgraded it to version 4.9.410. Now on my Galaxy Tab A 10.1 it doesn't work. It tells me there is a connection problem and to check my internet connection. However I have a good strong 30mbs signal sitting 10 foot away from the router. And everything else on this tablet works as well as the DirecTV app on my phone using the same network in the exact same location. I'm paying good money for DirectTV and being able to watch it in the other areas of my house on my tablet was a big selling point. This really needs to be addressed and fixed soon.

When I'm away from home I like to watch on demand movies on my tablet. However there is no way to resume where I left off and to add to this the app crashes so I have to start the movie all over again. Also the app crashes while watching live TV and the streaming quality is poor. I don't have this problem on any other streaming app. Hoping to see a much improved performance with the next update. Update: the resume feature is working much better! The app still crashes a lot but I increased my rating from 2 to 3 stars. Keep working on improving performance and I will happily update my review again. :)

I hate this app so much there are no words to describe. It closes at random. I FINALLY get it loaded and start scrolling the guide and it shuts down. I start a program and it shuts down. I watch a program after restarting it ten times, I get to the end, and it shuts down right before the conclusion. I want to throw a brick through my tablet at this app. It is the worst. I can stream live tv from any network direct, no problem. Not my tablet. Fix this app!!!!

Why am I not able to sign back in. We always have this problem with the app. Please fix this!!!Error 201!! The app crashes while trying to watch anything. Download and trying to turn on prepare to download is ridiculous. Why are we paying for something we cannot use. There are a whole host of things wrong with this app. Please fix it!! Why are all of the bad reviews which is mostly all of them buried! And the four good ones are on the front?! Dodgy & Shifty!!!

So, I've left bad reviews in the past and wanted to update and say it still stinks. Watching on demand is an exercise in pain. I get to watch the same one of two ads at every break. The only way to find a show is search and that is slow. And sometimes search doesn't work so start at A and you will find it eventually. Sometimes it crashes mid watch and I have to search for the show all over again to get back where I was. Why is this so painful while Netflix is so smooth?

It's great when it works. But the app closes every 5 minutes while you're watching live. When you're watching live TV, the whole point is that you don't want to miss anything. This glitch is freaking ridiculous, I wad getting so angry!! Fix it now!!

The app gets increasingly unusable with each new update. Ignore the TV ads that claim you can stream for free on your AT&T cell network, because the video is unwatchable in practice. If your power goes out and you think you are going to be able to stream Directv on your device as a backup plan, forget it lol. Video stops and goes so often it isn't worth the frustration.

This would be a great app if it didn't stop working every few updates. Nothing is more frustrating than to get used to using an app to watch back episodes of shows I missed, I never heard of before but found here, using my tablet as a 2nd TV, or as an alternative remote for my TV, only to have it lose operability. It's a powerful app - when it's working. I've had DirecTv for over 14 years now. I don't like being critical of it, but I feel the need to be honest. I just wish this app would continue to work and be the window to my DTv service it's meant to be.

Not sure why I can't watch downloaded programs when I'm connected to WiFi. It wants to stream so I have to turn off WiFi to watch download programs. Some programs, when downloaded to either my Android phone or Android tablet, doesn't have sound. Now it won't connect to my WiFi. Only app that says check my connection and restart the app. Keeps going down hill.

I would give it a better rating if the streaming was a lot better and if I would be watching a program for awhile and I get an error message and then the app quits on me. The Same thing happens with the streaming so I have to go back into the show I was watching. Works for awhile then it starts to buffer then will restart then buffer again and then goes back to home screen. It is Just so frustrating.

This is useless. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice. I can't watch anything longer than 10 minutes before it shuts down completely. A shame to pay so much for satellite and not be able to watch on a device. Sling,here I come!!

After installing the latest update, 3.7, I was delighted that my disappearing local channels were back. The new problem was even though I was connected to browse TV the app now kept searching for the DVR connection to watch TV......so they were gone again. This app is great when it works. The problem is that between crashes and bugs it works so seldom. I have no problem with any other streaming video app but this one is a challenge.

I think this app is terrible! Always loading wail you're watching a show and is blurry all the time. You think with the amount of money we pay for direct TV this app should be amazing, but no!

Constantly shifting resolution on FIOS 300/300! Get this crap fixed. The phone app works fine for some reason...(Pixel C Tab) It also crashes about 15 minutes into watching. The application is unusable because of this. I feel bad for DirecTV Now customers if it is ANYTHING like this.
