• Available content is based on your current programming package and premium service. Not all content is available to stream at this time
• Live TV Streaming in-home only channels and remote control requires a Wi-Fi connection to your home network and a DIRECTV Plus® HD DVR (models R22, and HR20 or higher) connected to a broadband Internet connection. I gave 4 stars because the app constantly freezes and "updating for optomized viewing" several times while watching. I also cant watch DVR stuff away from my home, which is pointless. I DVR stuff to watch, at home. And last.. If you answer a text or fb message while watching, it will stop the app. Sometimes, I would still like to hear what is going on even if im texting. I do like the convienence of the app and it is user friendly.

So I like the app...for the most part. I just switched from DISH Network and what I liked about their app was the capability to watch every channel I was subscribed to and all my DVR programs. With the Direct TV app, only certain live programs are available for viewing and my DVR recordings can only be watched from my tv, which doesn't make any sense. How difficult would it be to allow those options on your app? Please consider these changes for the sake of better customer reviews. And now it won't work at all. As of 4/6/17

I've had streaming issues. It kept logging me out n starting up again to optimize video. Instead of returning where it left off it would restart and you'd have to look for your show again to continue. I just couldn't believe I was having streaming issues while at home on the WiFi I got as a package with direct TV and att. I don't like how you can't fast forward through commercials while watching your dvr shows. That's why you recorded to have option to skip commercials. I do love the fact that you don't have to use data to use the app. Thank you for that. But little annoying bugs can be fixed and improved. Let's make it faster.

This app would be great if I didn't need my phone connected to the same internet as my reciever to watch certain things. Seeing as there isn't any quality internet options where I live, the only purpose this app really serves for me is to set my DVR to record shows when im not at home. We already pay for the directv service this app should be nothing but an extension of that. I shouldnt have to have my phone connrcted to the internet to enjoy the tv I already pay for. Not everyone has access to internet...

Seems everyone has the same issue. We want to access our dvr recordings on the go but can't connect to our in home network. Device not registered or must be connected to the same network as you your TV is all I get even though I've followed all directions to achieve this. For being a multi billion dollar company now you'd think this would be something that shouldn't happen or at the very least FIX IT! This app is only good for watching the channels you say we can watch. We should be able to watch whatever channel we subscribe to. Isn't that what we're paying for?

I have read several reviews and I have to agree with 90% of them. I can't watch my recorded shows, live streaming never works, it keeps saying register your device then i get an error message. This is a very frustrating app. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but done DIRECTV has been a part of AT&T their service has suffered. I am seriously considering moving to Xfinity.

This used to work fine, but now this app NEVER loads! No matter how many times I update, uninstall or close the app it always says "Please check your network connection and relaunch threw app" it does this whether I'm on wifi or not. My boyfriend downloaded it on his phone, using the same wifi, logged in with my account, and it worked, so I don't understand what is going on.

Its not even close to the hype they put into it. Inconsistent video streaming our you can get it to stream at all. In a high signal area never got one show to play without some sort of issue. Got the view on their recommendation for the quality it will do with the app, even worse.

The app keeps saying can't connect to the DVR. If I reset the receiver, it will connect and download a recording but the next day I have to reset again if I want to download another program. The DVR constantly loses internet connection through WiFi. For $130 bucks a month, everything should work flawless.

I've had AT&T for 12 years, I've been a salesman for AT&T for 4 years. Directv is a great product that's cheap and easy to sell. However, I've run into issues with the DirecTV app so many times. 40% of the time when you open the app it has connection issues. It's also very limited in terms of ability to watch content on your phone or tablet. Live TV is great! But there needs to be so much more On Demand content. I shouldn't have to resort to Netflix to watch every season of Friends. That's a show that should be 100% available at all times lol.

Going to start off by saying it doesn't fit the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S8. The top and bottom of the app are cropped which is a shame because this app was bundled with my phone. Anyway.. The app works surprisingly well compared to the At&t Uverse app considering they are both owned by the same parent company. You can watch movies, TV show episodes, and live TV (haven't tried).

Completely worthless when trying to watch live tv. Unless you like it buffering every 10 seconds..or restarting every single time you click on live tv. TOTALY SUCKS..had to start using the FOX SPORTS GO App just to be able to watch a complete game... F the fact that data is free when using DIRECTV app cuz it's totally useless...

Keeps shutting down for the last 4 days. I have Uninstalled it and re-installed it twice now. Fix this. It's irritating. I can only watch 15 seconds of shows and then the app restarts itself. I pay too much to not have this application not work. I will likely stop my service all together if it's not fixed soon

This app really gives me fits! I registered my DVR and now it crashes every time I try to access the channel list. Also, when I was able to access channels the video kept buffering and would display "optimizing video quality." This app looks great on concept, but the delivery is poor or, in my case, non-existent.

I'd love to give a higher rating, but the app never seems to be able to find my DVR, even when I'm on the same network. The whole reason I downloaded it was to watch my recorded shows away from home, you know, like advertised. It sits dormant for the random day I can actually do what they say you can with the app.

The app is horrible since the last update it freezes all the time and constantly "checks for optimum streaming " then it just stops all together. You then have to close the program and restart it. Very annoying. Wish I had never updated it. Definitely would not do it again!

Unable to use because it requires that I give it permission to access my phone's status and identity. You have no right to violate my privacy. As such, I refuse to give you access to my phone's status and identity. (2016: 12/13, 12/20, 12/29; 2017: 01/15, 01/22, 03/02, 03/15)

Live Tv is broken. Since streaming is about a minute behind, the app will kick you out of the show on time. It never used to kick you out and back to the browser after a show ended. By the time you get back in you missed the last minute. Please fix. It shouldn't kick you out of a live stream just because the guide says it's over.

I try to log in and nothing happens. I don't get an invalid username or password notice the screen just doesn't change. I tried changing my password anyways and yet still nothing. I called customer service and they accused me of forgetting my password. I would love some actual help so I can actually enjoy this app

It would be a great app if it worked consistently. We can no longer watch any live streaming. The app quits responding. Very poor app . I try everyday and have made numerous calls to no avail. Poor advertising. I got a new phone with pre-installed directv and cannot make a connection for live streaming. I am on the same network.

This app could be excellent but since the last update, it locks up. No matter what I do it will stop working within about 30 seconds so it is useless to me. There has been issues with past updates so my confidence that they all will be resolved is quite low. Frustrating.

Love this app. My only issue is that it doesn't always resume where I leave off. And since I can't fast forward there have been times I've had to rewatch a whole episode to get to the last 10 minutes I missed. But that is my only gripe. Great app, great service.

I absolutely love the ability to watch TV on the go. I often use the app to program while away from home also. Really helps pass the time away while sitting in waiting rooms for appointments. Also love using it when I wake up during the night and unable to get back to sleep. Setting the DVR remotely has really come in handy when we forget to program a show.

I love everything this app promises to do...but it doesn't do any of it. It is the least stable app on my phone by far, and almost never loads on the first try. Finding a show to record/watch is extremely difficult because the search function doesn't work well. Also, I have yet to be able to get the app to stream shows to my phone, despite having a 20Mbps connection in my home. It gets 2 stars because the feature that allows me to set shows to record remotely works sometimes.

Terrible app! Always makes me sign in to be able to use it...no option to stay signed in. If I can unlock my phone, i should be able to use the app without having to sign in. Then when i look up a game to watch, it pulls up the title of the game, but when i click on it, it takes me to a list of other games that will be played rather than the game i manually inputted. I hope technology gets better!

Hasn't worked at all since we got a new receiver at home. Keep getting "Check network connection and relaunch app". Uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results. Guess what DTV, if I can write and submit a review on Google Play, I don't have a Network Problem! Chatted with DTV, and was told that the new receiver has to be online for the mobile app to work. Makes no sense to me, but since AT&T refuses to bring Internet to my home, I guess the mobile app is useless to me.

No one can help me figure it out! When I try to log in since we have started with directv, it gives me "error 202." and no one knows how to fix it.. I might switch back to my old company any of this continues..

Omg fix it already! Terrible usability. Needs a watch later type "my list", and needs to remember where you were in the shows being watched. Show a progress bar for each episode as well. Any time you leave the app for another app or a text the app starts over and loses progress in show, or goes back to main menu all together.

New phone S8+ up to date. Everything works for the most part. But they need to update the app. It's a phone it will ring, text and beep. Unable to pause and start where you left off while watching the DVR portion is unacceptable. You have to restart everytime. No good Att / Directv

Can't do much better than this app my peeps! Since I added my opinion about this app thing was great but now I like many others here, The app should be able to watch what has been recorded from the dvr as well watch live tv like dish that issue should be resolved in the near future we hope because it what good for business. Thanks guys for adding DVR recording to the system it was well the waiting for years now I can watch all my recorded shows. I want to see local channels and to see them on my recordings. YEAAAA!!!! Thanks guys for adding local channels to the lineup , I've been looking for this to happen for years now you're looking great!

App consistently stops or doesn't function correctly. Always have to start over after watching a show on demand if I go to a different app. This app is very frustrating. I also don't understand why you pay for the full premier program package and can't watch everything on demand via any device. Some items still must be watched on TV and not via phone or computer.

The app logs me off and will not connect back to my DVR so that I can watch my shows.... Very annoying since I am away from home alot... I have to reconnect with my network at home so I can pull my DVR back up on my device... Never had this problem with dish's Hopper

Furious n very frustrated, if an alarm goes off on my phone or I get a call, I LOSE my show and the app does not save the progress! I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT! FIXXXXX THISSSS! Directv you need to be able to pick up where you left off, fix and I will change my review! Grr!

Cannot login, try to go through steps to reset password. Get the new password set and when I log in again I continue to get the same error, 00001 failed.. tried 5 times to get straight, absolutely fed up!!! S7 active brand new, 2 days old

Can't get app to launch. It tells me to turn on my data and make sure I have service. My service is great and my other apps are fine. I can stream my shows with other apps just fine. I was looking for a certain show and it was on this app. This app is useless now until you fix the major issue. If I could give negative stars I would. I'm sure I'm not the only one that this app has inconvenience, and that's putting it nicely.

Super glitchy. Everything sort of worked until last night, now every time I try to log in I just get an error that says check your internet connection.... my connection is just fine. Wifi AND 4g. Getting the same message on both.

In 3 months, even with the"help" of customer service, the app has NEVER worked for me on my Galaxy S7. When it almost worked, it would say that the app had stopped working about every couple minutes, which made it impossible to watch more than a minute or so of a show. Then I finally reset my phone to try to fix it and it just won't do anything on login. It just loops back to the login screen. Yes, the login info is correct, it works on a computer just fine.

This would be a good app if it did not have so much lagging and you could rewind all shows. Also if it didn't require your 1st born, an arm and a leg with all the xxx freaking permissions that have nothing to do with the function of this app! Shame on you Dtv...Just plain nosy! So ridiculous...

The Hulu app, the Netflix app, the AMX app, and just about any other video streaming app streams much better and loads up much quicker then this app. The only benefit of this app is that it can connect to my DVR. Although it is almost not worth the trouble I go through to watch a show. If I want to watch a show I almost have to have double the time in order to watch it. I have high speed internet and no problems with any other apps

Stop. Please. Why? Every week forced update. Hate that enormous splash ad too. Spyware terms of service. Huge app. Runs in the background, comes back after killing the task. I really do not want to have to keep updating for every little ui change. Just want to set my dvr which it accomplishes about half of the time. I don't need it running all the time. And the ios app now requires ios6 so my first gen ipad can't run the app. :p
