This applications shows details about your battery. It shows the current voltage, level, real temperature (Very Important), the technology used to build your battery, the charging status, and the health status.
It may look simple, but this is a powerful toll that can save you time and even your life.
1. Knowing the temperature even before you can feel on your hands is very important. A problem with your battery may make it explode. It should not be much greater than 100F or 40C
2. Knowing the technology used by your battery will let you know if you should discharge it totally or can use it with incremental changes. For instance, Li-ion batteries do not have the memory problem. It can be recharged at any point.

So I have a Galaxy S4 with a faulty battery which drains straight from 60% to 0% and shuts off the phone all the time . I tried this app thinking it would detect something but it says battery is "good" - whatever that means.

This is the same info that Android should tell you if you go to About Phone & Battery. RE: Developer comment- That is true, and it makes this app worth downloading for many users who otherwise wouldn't bother checking battery stats, but there are other types of battery-related info that could be added to this app; such as estimated time remaining until battery low/drain, or maybe power management info such as battery history.
