Night Filter for Android
For screen dimming look no further, however for larger phones the softkeys are just as blinding. This has never worked on my phones softkeys. I have to use another app to hide them which is a pita.
My phones LED screen has been going out. The screen is completely covered in an yellow green color. With this app, it fixes it as much as possible (I didn't expect it to fix everything, but it definitely did way more than I thought) thank you so much!!
I find it very very convenient to be able to lower the display brightness so much for the evening /night time. It's really very dark. Perfect! But it would be nice to be able to save different settings as "profiles" to have presets for different situations. And the soft keys are still bright on my Sony Xperia z3 compact
Works well. I can set it to very a dim, mildly opaque and dull red screen, that is useable at 3am, in an almost totally dark room, and still keep my night vision - and not burn my retinas out from the super bright screen when waking up to do things at night time. USEFUL app.
I love this idea and wish I thought to look for it sooner. This app works exactly how I hoped it would except for my softkeys. They seem to go through phases where they don't turn off. Otherwise it is great!
Doesn't support s8. Still has bright areas such as notification bar and virtual home key
This is the best amongst its competition. Lets you costumize a lot and the ability to screen out any color is great.
Very nice app now am youz my phone in easily at night without disturbing my wife. ..
I'm an astrophotographer, and backyard astronomer and after trying several other apps, this is by far the best! Really thankful for this filter!

Free. Has a scheduler, doesn't want access to things it shouldn't need (like identity). Deducting 2 stars because the scheduler intentionally stops running on reboot. WTF?
Can't dim buttons, otherwise pretty great. I'm not a fan of the ads. uninstalled for these two issues.
It works excellently and without hiccups so far as my Moto G is concerned. I love the range of settings and the quick activation. Don't like that it's not obvious how to get to the app settings menu.

Such a relief. Although I've had crashes sometimes as in it automatically switches itself off. But can't live without it at night.
Used to use it every night, now something has gone wrong now and it bugs everytime I try to use it.
If it can automatically start after I reboot my phone, would be perfect. Thanks. Yep, you might be right, changed the rating
A red screen is good for movie theatres, waking up earlier than your spouse, and stargazing.
Increase the red bar to the middle at night , this will give you a warm feeling and will rest your eyes to get ready for sleeping gl
I am light sensitive due to an eye problem I had as a kid and this app is just so good. It helps at night and I believe is very underrated.
Does exactly what I wanted it to do. Reduce blue light at night on my Galaxy S3 & now trying it on my Gpad(tablet).
When driving at night using my phone as a GPS or radio, the minimum brightness was too high. Now I can adjust it perfectly to not blind me or my wife and daughter.
Overlays a colour filter of your choice. Great for night time reading. No intrusive ads. Great job dev!
Useful and minimal, allows you to filter your Android screen with any color, opacity, and brightness level. Perfect for amateur astronomy or everyday use!

Not what I expected
Nothing I can say, the app is perfect!
If a notification arrives. The notification bar shows the actual brightness. Other wise this application is superb.
You should a fastest way to adjust the filter intensity
I've recently learned that AMOLED screens (used in Galaxy S5) have a flicker when brightness is turned down to a certain level, usually under 5%. The screen jumps around, turns yellowish green and gray. Needless to say, my phone did these very badly and with zero accidents. This filter fixed that, thank you. Is there a way to replace the factory brightness slider with this one? If not, how about a dual slider option in the drop down menu? Opening the app each time is taxing. But above all I'm very thankful.
If you struggle with light sensitivity for days after a migraine, this is amazing. Simple, quick and easy to use & adjust, and doesn't kill your battery. I use it a lot.
This app puts a filter over every application on your device. It doesn't get rid of all of the blue on your device, but it does greatly diminish it.

Besides saving your eyes it saves battery life aswell. What else can your ask for. Get it and if you love itlike me suuport the people who made it.
Just wish this doesn't take so much of battery instead of reducing usage...
I would like to give 5 stars, unfortunately if you want a warmer tint for the night, it changes the blacks too... I want all the image filtered and tinted BUT without blacks (something like the Multiply mode in Photoshop).
In addition of the blue fliter implemented in my cyanogenmod rom, this app is perfect to reduce brightness to a very low level. With those two things my eyes are very happy.
Works fine for what it's supposed to. I would just like to know more about the science behind the blue color triggering your mind to be awake. And strain on my eyes? Well what's the right setting to counteract that? That's what caught my interest. A link to something explaining it or something?

App was working beautifully for a long while. Very useful. However recently it has started to randomly turn off, unexpectedly returning my screen to usual brightness. And the toggle widget has become occasionally unresponsive. Would love to see this fixed as otherwise app would be 5*!
