What are users saying about Digg

The world seems to have forgotten RSS, but I for one am grateful that this app exists. I imported my Google Reader feeds when it first closed, and haven't looked back. I hope they can maintain the app and website in its current state, it is simple and effective.

One of the apps I use daily but unable to sign in using my Google account on One+ 3T. Have tried emailing support a couple of times with no response. Please will you help resolve the issue.

Z70%
by Z####:

Overall, a very good app. However, I have to give less stars because of one issue that's been obnoxious in this program for at least the past year, possibly longer. When reading an article, if I rotate my device, the screen redraws and I'm dumped back to the top of whatever I was reading. Not a huge issue most times, but if I'm reading a longer article and I set my device down, it can be pretty frustrating to have to scroll through and try to find my place again. Also, the sponsored ads are kind of a nuisance. I'd love a version I could pay for to turn these off.

C70%
by C####:

Have been happily using it for years, but since Nov/Dec can't sign in with Google account on new installs, same as countless others. Lack of response is galling.

C70%
by C####:

Unable to sign in with a Google account.. nothing happens when clicking sign in. Looking at ADB logcat says "Java runtime exception: you need to use a Theme.AppCompat theme (or descendant) with this activity"

Tried multiple times to reset and update Google play services -- which connect correctly to all other apps but fail for the Digg Android app (Samsung note 5)

C70%
by C####:

Used to love this app, but the updates have killed it. Front page stories take at least 10x longer to load than they used to. In addition, several of my favorite feeds just stopped updating. I've given up and uninstalled digg. I'm going to give feedly a try now.

G70%
by G####:

Meh. The design is bland and hasn't been updated to material guidelines. In fact, the app hasn't been updated in almost a year. It's pretty buggy and doesn't use Chrome custom tabs. It's a shame, Digg is a great website, but I think it's time to look for an alternative.

C70%
by C####:

I used to love DIGG and will consider trying it again but since Slate has taken over the page I get nothing but trouble. Plug ins fail to load almost every video and to be honest the articles themselves are less entertaining.

C70%
by C####:

I use Digg for the RSS reader. Back in 2013, this app didn't sync quickly with the browser version. Now the interfaces have been improved. And I refuse to use any other RSS reader. I hope Digg never dies.

I can't login via Google, it crashes the app every time. It's been like this for months. I am using a Google pixel.

After Google brought Google reader down I thought there will never be a better alternative to it. But fortunately this app disappointed me I admire it. It have everything I need starting from migrating from the so called Google reader.

X70%

The developers of this app have informed me that development of the Android app has been abandoned. I find that so sad. I hope they change their mind some day.

I'm possible to sign in on my pixel phone. Android 7.1 : Google Play service crashes each time. So, not usable today.

V70%

I'm happy to change the rating for this once I'm able to login with my Google account. Right now, trying to login with Google just cause Play Services to crash.

C70%

It crashes Play Services all the time, maybe using some APIs the unexpected way?

There should be more view modes. In-app browsing is really important for an news reader like this!! its a must have!!

Please make an inbuilt browser so that every time a user needs to view a link, he can see it in the app itself. Digg is awesome, please make it's app as such.

Very pleased to see the update to Material Design. It a fun service that I enjoy using. Unfortunately the feed has fewer sources than Feedly that open full articles, but I suppose that's probably not the point. It still doesn't do a great job keeping track of how many articles have been read, with the unread marker often being inaccurate. And, though I'm pleased to see tablets supported without forcing random portrait orientation, I do wish it did a better job taking advantage of the tablet format. There is a great deal of wasted potential.

Digg provides its users an amazing interface to get consistently up to date, high quality and realavent articles. Their advertisements are non intrusive and more often than not, they are interesting and I find myself clicking on them to see what they are offering. Thanks for fixing the share button issue!

Ever since the fall of Google Reader I've been looking for the right replacement. Feedly's unwillingness to keep items older than 30 days is a deal breaker for me, so I've been trying everything else. I like the Digg reader, but for some reason seem completely unable to figure out how to mark items as unread in this app. Am I missing something obvious?

I used to use Inoreader. This is far superior in every category. It also has a web application that is equally as awesome. So you can access the same thing from your laptop or computer, even where you left off.

M70%
by M####:

Just like any other news app, these folks have an agenda ... and it has little to do with informing it's audience in a balanced or responsible way. Deleted after 6 years. Just keeps getting worse.

M70%
by M####:

Crashes when I save to Pocket. This bug must be a year old, if not older. Unfortunately, I can't deal with it any longer.

M70%
by M####:

Hands down my favourite reader. No idea why its average rating is only 3plus. Also, the people who come up with the little headlines above each article should be paid more, they're absolutely hilarious (sometimes more interesting than the articles themselves). EDIT: could you include an option to change font type and size? Thanks!

K70%
by K####:

I use it a lot and I like it, but small bugs do get in the way sometimes. The unread count in the category menu, for example. It doesn't update until the next refresh. Otherwise - good.

Inundates you with atrocious "news" that is mostly just click-bait. And I think they stop allowing you to mute sources after you mute so many (5 or 10 maybe). It's so left wing and atrociously capitalist that it's like getting stabbed in both eyes at any given moment. A slightly necessary evil since Pulse was taken down by those bitches at linkdin.

This is unacceptable these days. Get your own damn login system, please.
