DiffTool the File Compare Tool for Android
The user interface looks like it was made in paint, and scrolling through any menus or large files is very hard to do
It's a great app... But needs a feature of copying...
Nice tool, poor GUI
First of all, let me stress that this app works as described! I'd love to give it a 5 but the interface is just terrible, and no options to speak of (e.g. treat apk files as files, not folders!)
UI could be better, but it does the job and is *free*! Thanks to the dev!
This app is like me. It might not be the prettiest thing you have ever seen, but it does the job, and does it well. I will take hot function over hot looks ANY day! Dev: thank you SO MUCH for this cool tool.
Not very useable. Can't copy paste. Navigating a long list of files is hard, for my use. EDIT: Thanks for the reply, and for making your work available. I'm sure it will useful for someone, but doesn't suit my needs.
Brilliant
Needed to compare two text files. Found this and downloaded. Within seconds had compared and confirmed the one expected difference ... and highlighted really nicely (before/after). Brilliant!
While I could figure out how to use the app intuitively, I could not understand the output. I'm trying to compare two directories with a couple of hundred files in them. A side by side list would be ideal. This was just too tough to figure out.
Is there any option to save the differences between 2 text files ? Edit: looks like it combines the 2 files in 1, I just want to extract/save the difference .. thank you
Nice app. Light weight. Is it possible to select the diff between the files?
The UI makes the app feel really old, but I'm honestly not sure how I'd change it. It's really intuitive and easy to use, though, which is what really matters.
I'm a longtime TextPad user and wanted to find the search in files capability for my Android tablet. DiffTool with Fgrep seems to fit the need. Play Store says the app is designed for phones. I hope it's not restricted against Android tablets.
Works well, except I wanted the option to retain the original file dates when copying to a backup; now, all copied files are dated to the time of copy.
Great app to compare and debug! Closest thing to Meld.
A tried comparing hand written file and a notepad txt document... It showed errors in the whole work.... As I think ur app just can compare the to same type text document
This works very well the only one on the market that actually works
First, I really appreciate your effort, this is what I'm looking for, and really there are no apps like this. It could do a bit of re-designing though :-) Maybe a touch of Material Design. Other than that, I'd really like to able to access ftp servers, so I could compare local files with remote ones. With a nicer design and remote access, I'd even pay for it. :-)
Nice application. Need some more improvement in the functionality. While we select the option to remove the identical files, it only removes them from view alone. Physically the duplicate files still continue to exist on the device.
The best diff app, great support
good
A must have and an only if it's kind App. Nice work, Keep it up
While the results were confusing for me, not nicely listed in a pretty gui(dual columns), the popup menu that happened after the results was good enough to action a workable solution, so it gets a thumbs up. In any event, there is hardly anything like this in the play store, so your choices are really limited. This one is free while "file compare" costs if you want to compare folders.
This works very well the only one on the market that actually works
good enough
Help
I was way confused how to comapre my contact backups (which are automaticaly generated by sms contact backup software i hv in my phone) and get a unique no i deleted several months ago and did not remember the name too. This app compared on the fly and give the changes in colours and arrows helpd to jump between changes it had and did not hang at all . Beter then file compare software . way stable.. but interface is old school but gets the job done fantastically. Thanku got the girl that i deletd in anger.
I got a black screen
In my PC I like to use "Beyond Compare", in Android: "Diff Tool", the Best Comparison Tool for android! Thanks for the amazing App!!!
Crashes on start! Waste of band.
1- navigation is slippery and Buttons appear to have no activity 2- UI is ugly Update: "Buttons appear to have no activity" means they do not change their appearance whether being pressed or not. So the user may not be sure if he has pressed a button or not.
On startup it immediately goes to a black screen and just sits there even after waiting >10 minutes. Closed and restarted the app—same result. This is on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 running Android 5.0.2. Update: The dev is very responsive so chances are good for a fix soon. Adding another star. Update: The dev was very responsive, but couldn't determine why this app and a test module he sent go to black screen on my device. Are any of the other Tab S users running the English version of Android?
A great App! It has a *lot* of potential!
The user interface is a bit non-standard, but the app's functionality is outstanding!
Hopeless. A non-starter.
Superr :)
I am a big fan of diff/compare software. I use it everyday for work and research. This type of software is crucial to android programming and most other things. The problem is that most people don't know software and apps like this exist. I have been using BC for years and had always hoped that someone would come out with a great diff app for Android that was worthy. Thank you soooooo much. ---h311s|dr0id---
It does work but is so awkward to use its not really worth it unless really needed. Doing this using tools on a computer is far faster and less frustrating. UI is not good, scrolling is bad. Horizontal scroll is really bad. Not what I would call user friendly.

needs overhaul ... offers delete options when results appear but app doesn't acquire 'external' sd card permissions when files not inernal. results scroll poor. folder path on selection screens spolit by "..." when path is too long.
