Doctor Who TARDIS widget: press the widget directly on your home screen! Plays the TARDIS materialization sound effect and flashes on touch.
This app was suggested by Peter B. I do apologize for the fact that proper animation (like the fading effect in Tardis Button) isn't actually programmatically possible with widgets.

KNOWN ISSUES:
-*Update* Mute option added, so I guess if you prefer to mute on boot that would be a solution of sorts to the problem below.
-When you reboot your phone after the widget is already placed on your home screen, it'll do a weird double update and then stop itself (so basically it plays the TARDIS noise). I'm not really sure why that is at this point, but it's likely a result of the way Android handles widget updates (this widget inherently has no auto-update; each press is considered an update)

So I was playing owl Sim and it wouldn't close so I turned my nexus off and I couldn't turn it back on and then I randomly heard the tardis and suddenly, I COULD TURN IT BACK ON!!!!!!! It was one of the most amazing things I've ever expeairenced on my nexus.

When I rotate my tablet to landscape mode, the TARDIS reverts to tens TARDIS.

Considering that the TARDIS rotates counterclockwise (most of the time), it would be great if you could add that as an animation!

Yep it's a widget, as nice as it is the widget doesn't really do much, u get the sound of the tardis when the widget is touched & that's it. Could u not give the widget more features?, u know more sound choice, or even types of tardis u can pick?, or maybe make it spin round when u touch it?..more interesting would be good. Thank u for ur hard work so far.. CHEERS..(PS..the pic shown for widget is not what u get... a Tardis is what u get.)

was cool for the 1st day but after rebooting my phone it's dead. htc one m9 & lge980 probably programmed that way to encourage continuous re-downloads, which I refuse to do. Uninstalled. For Good. Or for Bad. Or for Worse.

If you want to work on it some more, an option to use a longer version of the sound (letting you hear the other noise it makes in flight would be cool) . Also maybe a smaller version of the widget?

It's simply decoration for your home screen. Nice sound and graphics. Although as mentioned below, the sound does cut off quite suddenly. A nice fade-out would be better. :) But 5 stars for the fact you can actually choose between 10th and 11th's tardis. What would have been even cooler was if you heard 10th going "Allons-y!" and 11th "Geronimo!" in the background to each of their tardis'. Maybe add previous Doctors tardis' as well! It has lots of potential! Keep it up!

More settings than expected for a widget that does nothing: materialize effects and sounds, spin speed, etc. Enjoy poking it when bored.
