Measure has never been easier! SlideMeter is a new, powerful and easy to use ruler for your smartphone. It is based on accelerometer sensors together with an innovative algorithm, and it allows you to measure the length of any object with just a simple gesture of your smartphone!
Some apps use the phone as a simple ruler, but you will be limited by the length of your device... Other apps make use of the camera, but on common objects they can make mistakes of 10 to 50 cm! Slide Meter relies on accelerometers, and can provide you incredible results!
You simply have to slide your phone above the object you want to measure, and Slide Meter will return you its length! Take a look at the video tutorial to see how easy it is, and how accurate it can be if used correctly.

Procedure:
* Push the Start button and hold on for 1 sec
* Slide your phone fast along the object you want to measure
* Stop your phone, hold on for another second and release the button
* Get the measure!
Over the measuring box you will see a traffic light: if you get a yellow or a red light, just check the Info button to discover why your measure is not accurate, and then repeat the procedure!

Would be perfect if you could slide slowly instead of incredibly fast; which is difficult with long object.

Try sliding faster......try sliding slower.........hold the start button for 1second before sliding........hold the start button for 1second after sliding.........try not to rotate device while sliding..........anything else you wanna p*** me off with. those were all abided and uninstall came pretty much straight away

Samsung S3 really tough to get a reading. Out of 10 tries I get 1 read. Nice concept, clean looking layout but too bad it doesn't work well.

It really was the sort of app I was looking for. It does what the description says. I just didn't have the patience to learn the right speed to swipe with when trying to measure stuff. I give it 3 stars because I don't think this is a bad app & I would have given it 4 stars if I had been able to learn how to work it properly. I hope other people have better luck.

It doesn't seem to have proper access to the GalTab's sensors, although other apps like SmartTools work just fine. Might just be a compatibility oversight, but it works only 25% of the time and not well when it does.

The idea is good and it measured pretty accurately but for me it said that I did every thing proper and gave me a measurement about 1/20 tries. But that could just be me and someone else would do it right every time. I am using a nexus 4

Played with the app for around 30 minutes (after watching the tutorial a couple times). Measured a single sheet of paper over and over. Never got an accurate measurement (or within an inch). Good idea, terrible execution.
