Be sure to disconnect and remove earphones before you ping!
It works!
I consider this to be the most hi-tech app for Android. I am surprised that there are not many (if ever) alternatives. Could be handy in no light situations. I am not perfectly satisfied with the continunous ping.
impressive proof of concept
Works great, though you will need some practice interpreting results. Practical use is limited, hence **** only.
Doesn't work well for me but gives a general idea
Awesome. A proximity map would look awesome though. Any thing visual.
The app works great, however, phone hardware is far from ideal so you have to select the right measurement yourself.
It doesn't work
Interesting concept. A bit of a problem running in HTC EVO because mic is on front and sound comes out back.
very good app, It coulde be better if there is chance to change sweep and pulse prameters
jus generates a load of random measurements
Pretty cool, it does move to sd card, thats plus. LG OP S.
Very cool... Pretty accurate, considering the poor speaker/ mic placements on a phone. as a SONAR tech, this is fun to play with.
I wanted it to make the pulse sound, like in das boat.
EVO. Works fine. Its for fun people, relax with ur comments. No issues.
It works, but not really useful, nice to play though.
Very creative app. Excellent...
Great app. Recommend
Works great! I used it to measure my height (reflection from a cement floor in my back yard)
Droidx suffers from unfortunate mic and speaker placement, so the accuracy is questionable at best on it.
Kudos to the developer for writing such a quality app. Unfortunately I could not find a practical use for it.
On a high density screen, the distances are too small. Please enlarge the text size or put a setting for it. Tested on Galaxy Note 3.
Surprisigly effective. Almost like a fishfinder.
It works surprisingly well in quiet rooms, especially on ceilings, only off by a few inches. I have a HTC Droid Incredible 2 and it has a rear facing speaker and 2 microphones, which makes it perfect for this app. For the only one of its kind this app is awesome.
Given the obvious limitations imposes by the available hardware, the app performs very well. Of course this is a toy app, so you can't expect it to work as your expensive laser meter.
Very cool app, but the continuous mode could be smoother / faster
I recommend calibrating this app by placing your phone a known distance from a hard flat surface (a wall!). You can adjust the speed of sound until the results agree with the tape measure. (I had to boost mine up to 265m/s before I got sensible results). Then it becomes consistently accurate to within 1cm! Very very impressed. Not sure what I'll use it for, but I really like it. Cheers!
Works quite well in an uncluttered environment with big sound reflective walls. Would be interesting if it were possible to shape the ping into a more narrow beam, perhaps through beamforming or even beamstearing on a phone with stereo speakers
Not quite sure how to read the graph. An explanation would help. Nexus One.
I'm using it on an HTC one v and I get amazing results! It varies a little each time I ping it but it gives a pretty close approximation every time. Really cool app!!
Doesn't work . 20" = 34". 45" 65"
Surprising results. Works well htc d.hd
Still playing with the settings and experimenting with it, so far the results are encouraging.
First of all it gives random predictions. Secondly, the predictions got mixed up to find which one is current!..
setting units to feet or inches causes phone to reboot
This is a great concept application and it is fairly accurate.
Accuracy not quite there yet
Interesting app. Would be nice to have an option to select front or back speaker to match mic side.
Very amazed by this app
