Automated Device is a complete rules engine to customize your device behaviour automatically. The idea is simple and powerfull:
The device broadcast automatically events about many thinks
Hardware events like Bluetooth, wifi, battery level, cpu state, position events, time events, calendar events, phone ring state, screen state
And much more...
And the device can perform automatically many actions without user intervention:
Set hardware state, wifi, bluetooth, speaker, launch or kill a program, apply a predefined profile, send a SMS/Email, ringtones....
And much more...
With Rules Engine you can create many rules. Each one is composed of:
Conditions. Simple or complex conditions using AND/OR clauses. For example, if weekday is monday, between 7:00 and 9:00 and my current position is my office and battery level is higher than 20% then send an email .....
Actions. Actions to be executed when the rule passes from unmatched to matched and actions to be executed when the rule passes from matched to unmatched. User can set their order, delays, etc
Other features:
Profiles: These are set of actions that the user can select / unselect quickly from the main page.
Quick timed switchers: For example, set Bluetooth on, but put off again after 90 minutes
New actions and conditions are being added each day.
Current conditions:
Weekday and time
Wifi state
Speaker state
Bluetooth state
Flight mode state
Data connections enabled / disabled
AC power / Battery
Location. To be inside or outside of some place (defined by point and radius)
Screen state
To match or unmatch other rule
Some program is running or not
Battery level (min, max)
Bluetooth connected to an specified device
Phone status (ringing, in call...)
Calendar events. To be in a caleendar event that contains some word, like 'meeting"
Autorotation screen On/Off
Mobile network type in use (GPRS, HSDPA, CDMA, LTE, etc)
Data connection On/Off
Headphone plugged or not
Car mode activated / deactivated
Dim screen activated / deactivated
Wifi hotspot activated / deactivated
To receive a SMS comming from some phone number or with its text containing some word or phase
Ambient light

I really love this app as there are so many things it can do automatically like putting my phone on silent when I arrived at work through to automatically texting someone to say I'll be home late and turning functions off if the battery gets too low. Pretty much the options are endless. However, the battery life to do this by far outweighs the benefits and that is a great shame but a whole battery can be gone in six hours away from the plug socket. It unfortunately leaves my phone powerless too quickly.

I was tired of my phone auto-joining AT&T and Comcast hotspots while I was driving through town. With this app, WiFi is disabled when my phone connects to my car's Bluetooth, and it's re-enabled when I turn off my car. Love it! I don't have any geo-specific rules, so my battery life is barely impacted.

It has lots of options, triggers, and actions. I couldn't find out how to use the "Rule match/unmatch" thing. The help didn't help either. But all in all it is a great a app!

Some settings can cause drain, but varies from device. It is the Location based events and speaking out certain events that for are most useful for me. Very easy to use, very powerful toolset. For the price, it is definitely the best.

I have used the app for years now and find it to be more useful each day. As an example I receive many sms messages and need to act on them based on the message content. I build rules for this content and get real work done. Thank you...great app.

After a few days of messing around with this app I've found it to be intuitive, powerful and versatile when combined with profile triggers on my OnePlus One (Cyanogen). And it is NOT eating up my battery!

Free without any limitations. Very intuitive and easy to use interface. Needs some refinements but is overall very impressive. It is totally free and is easy to use even for beginners. Other nice automation apps for beginners to intermediate users who are not comfortable with Tasker include : Condi, E-Robot, AutomateIt, Commandr, Automate, Automagic Automation, Trigger, Macrodroid, etc.

I like the app but after a weeks analysis and 60-65% total battery consumption I'm going to have to let you go. Functionality wise I love the control, but I can't live with having to always keep docked. Needs a better mechanism to control battery life.

I have a galaxy s5. I love how the program is setup and the ease of use, but I did notice that it is ALWAYS finding a location. also i found that it was re running all the checks the rules several times a second. It killed my battery. went from 90% to 63% in just under an hour. And that was with the phone locked

I gave this app only 3 stars because the customer support lacks considerably. I emailed them with an issue and after a few days I received a response. When I responded they never replied. I think a major part of any product, app, etc is the customer support which they clearly don't have. The app itself has great potential. I've tested a bunch of similar apps and this app was one of the better ones. Haven't noticed a significant battery drain but it definitely adds to the battery drain.

APP features are excellent but at times I observed that my Google N4 4.4.2 phone is over heating and also battery draining very fast while running this APP. My phone became normal and responsive after stopping this APP.

Regularly updated with meaningful changes. Extremely powerful for users who want control over their device but aren't ready to root it. Had some problems with location rules going from matched to unmatched, but I'm willing to think that the problem is between my ears and not with this app. Will probably make it 5 stars very soon given the scale of improvements it's receiving.

While I've not used it long enough to discover any bugs, it's a nice app. I use the rule processing to change my speaker settings for at work and outside of work. Keeps me from accidentally muting my phone.

This is a pretty cool app, but is missing my largest pet peeve. I want to turn on my GPS on my rooted phone. I currently use MyProfiles to do this, but it is a bit limited. The UI is a bit lacking too. Kind of confusing to set up. I do like being able to launch multiple actions and put delays between them.

Have switched to this app since Llama is no longer supported, seems easy to use but badly needs improving. One thing really needed is the ability to detect when it's on Wireless Charge rather than USB Charge. Llama used to do this as at night I set a night profile which I don't want when I plug in the USB charger. PLEASE FIX FOR MORE STARS. Have just noticed there's been no updates since 2014 so looks like another app that's been abandoned.
