Wi-Fi Now by U.S.Cellular

It's been on my last 2 phones and I was just getting ready to try it for the first time before I read the reviews. I use the regular WiFi and have never had any problems at all and don't want to start. Takes me 30 seconds to connect anywhere a WiFi is located. Always stays connected at home until I turn it off. Gave it a 1 star just to be able to post this. I believe what others say about it.

When I walk down the street the app is constantly connecting and disconnecting from wifi as I go by. Same thing happens in the car when at a stop light app connects to wifi within range and then have to disconnect when the light turns green. This clogs up my phone and slows download browser and searching. There should be a 5 minute buy in. Where the app does not connect to a wifi source until it has been in range for 5 minutes. This will eliminate the frequent connects and disconnects.

Incompatible?? Like so many others. I had this app on a previous phone. MotoX. Worked well. Got a Samsung Galaxy 7, it let me download it, went to open it....Incompatible..... thanks for visiting and penetrating my phone. Junk.

For some reason I keep getting alerted that this app is constantly setting and resetting itself. I am uninstalling until the problem is fixed. No wonder I keep going over my data plan tho I am always on WIFI! What a crock! Thanks for the high cell bills!

This is useless. According to this I'm connected to my system. However I'm not. This review is sent by using my data which is probably what they want. So I can go over& be charged. Don't waste your time. I'm getting another. Oh did I mention useless..

It doesn't work with my new Samsung S7. It tells me it's not compatible and doesn't recognize it being a US Cellular phone. Oh well I'll look for something comparable .

Just got a Galaxy S7 and downloaded WIFI Now. When I tried to open it, I got a window that says my software is not compatable with the app, or either my phone is not recognized as a US Cellular phone. Both reasons are completely in your hands. What are you going to do to fix it. Awaiting your reply.

Crap crap crap. Drains my battery and constantly disconects and wont recognize my home wifi or my friends. If I could give less than one star I would.

Wi-Fi Now constantly shuts off when I'm at home sitting next to my wireless router. I have now come very close to going over my data this month because I've not been connected to my home internet. I delete this app, installed a different one for Wi-Fi and have had no problems. I'm pretty sure this is US Cellular's way of getting customers to go over their data plans.

The app store says it's compatible with my phone, but when I try to run it, I get a message that says it isn't compatible. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and it doesn't work with this app. US Cellular does not list this phone as being not compatible, so I can only assume it's a bug. Useless....

Horrible since recent update. Always get notification when on home sytem, FAILED to connect. Funny how I never had a single problem with data usage until Summer 2013 and updates. Now hitting limits and overage.

Seems to be I'm not alone. Didn't have a problem till 2 weeks ago. Constantly kicking me off when it does updates. Always have to enter my password at home and work. Really frustrated and hoping the next update fixes the problem.

Cant stand that i have to have this app in order to connect to the wifi at my house and it doesnt work. I can be sitting right next to my wifi and it wont connect. So much for the enhanced performance. Its crap.

I don't know when it started, apparently at the update, but my phone constantly disconnects from any Wi-Fi I have to manually connect to. At my home, it says "No account for..." or "failed for." This needs to be fixed because it's costing me, and others money.

Will not connect to my home wifi and causing me to go over on data. So thankful i am leaving uscellular the service just continues to get worse.

It worked GREAT up until yesterday! Now it won't connect AT ALL. Please fix it! Thank u... *UPDATE* I was happy to wake up this morning to find it working! I'm happy with it once again! Back to 5 stars :)

Since it's been update it doesn't really work I'm maybe 5ft from my wifi router and all I ever get if failed for mwireless. Please fix this app so it works like before because it was great before the update. Why try to fix something when it isn't broke. when you do that you just break it

turning this OFF FIXED my problems, this came with my phone and it does its job of attaching to SOME wifi networks. However, it also makes it impossible to stay connected to some, after disabling it I have not had any issues with loosing wifi connection

I don't even use wifi and it keeps turning on by itself. I'll turn it off and then look back later and it's back on! I've not had any issues until recently!

Since the update, this app makes it impossible for me to connect to open Wi-Fi Networks that have been existing hotspots for me for almost a year. I cleared all of my data, started over, and still can't connect. I KNOW it's the app update because the wifi networks are available, but wifi-now won't authenticate and the connection always fails. I've really just about had it. I use Wi-Fi hotspots because my 4G connection is slow & always has issues, and prevents me from using apps or multitasking on my Note 2.

I usually don't write reviews but this is just ridiculous. It was working at 1 time but now I'm having major issues and it doesn't seem like I'm the only one either.

I clearly have a strong network. I clearly see that this app is broken all to frig. Fix this junky application. It worked fine before your borked update. I honestly don't know why customers stay with US Cellular at all. You get better phone service as well as customer service with frigging Straight Talk. That's pretty sad.

This worked great on my s5 until it updated to Marshmallow, from lollipop, but now it says, "WiFi Now is not supported on my os"!? What the hell! Please fix! You could at least acknowledge people's concerns!!!

Since the latest few updates, I've had constant issues connecting to Wifi. Although my phone displays full wifi bars, i readily receive the message under my notifications bar that this app "failed for [wifi name]." It's beyond irritating to be disconnected seemingly at any moment, and then spontaneously re-connected X Minutes later. Fix, and easily a 5 star app.

Worked ok when I first got my galaxy s4, then somewhere along the way an update changed that. Now barely works when out and about and not at all with my home wifi network. Complete fail! US Cellular retail rep said to delete the app as it has been nothing but problems with galaxy phones. When your own people call it garbage it might be time to do something about it.

Even though I know my home wifi is working and a strong signal and all passwords are correct this App STILL SAYS "Failed to Connect" what is up with that? Has bee happening consistently recently.

Since the last update, my phone keeps automatically connecting to wifi, which wears the battery down quickly. I have wifi settings set to never automatically connect, but it won't stop connecting.

This app is ridiculously bad, its not even like there's bad features and good ones, it just doesn't work period. Seeing as I HAVE to use this app for WiFi, YOU NEED TO FIX IT US CELLULAR OR LET ME USE SOMETHING ELSE!!!!!

It says it helps with connections but it actually interrupts my connection almost constantly on familiar networks. I still have to open my browser to login and I seem to make better decisions on connection speeds and quality than the app. It does not do anything.

The app won't let me connect to my home WiFi. I know it is the app because when I disabled and reset the app my WiFi now works... Make it disappear

This app hardly shows connected. I can be at my own home and it doesn't show connected. Causes my WiFi to always need password reentered.

I didn't even know this was an app and not a setting until today. Never had one problem with this app. Never get disconnected like others are saying.

Been having a problem with my wifi connection but it has something to do with all the road work they were doing around here because of the underground line nope just this update goes to show you what US Cellular thinks of their customers as long as this update is not fixed properly US Cellular makes extra money off of us using our data

I will no longer turn on wifi. All I get is updates for apps that i never use. slows every thing down. I no I no I don't understand. ::((

Never had problems until recently. Always says "failed to connect" and seems to disconnect itself constantly. Quite irritating. I am using some of my data to write this review since Wifi Now doesn't work properly..........

It has failed to work on all my devices causing us to use all our data within 20 days in billing cycle. And I can't uninstall it from one of my kids phone's

I am literally paying for this, Wi-Fi turns off when I'm around home ---constantly! It's only my phone and I'm being charged for overage on my data, this happened a few months after I got my phone and then here's another update and it no longer works.... only when it feels like it! It's sad, I can't even access my own Wi-Fi connection at home; why should I have to pay for this... I've been a dedicated customer for over 12 years! This lack of providing decent service for your customers, is so appalling....

Want it off my phone but won't let me delete it

This app used to be great and didn't give it a second thought, but now forgets your networks, drops connection while I'm using wifi, and after resetting them more times than I can count, I give up. Its especially nice to realize this when I get a HUGE bill for data overages! Thanks, this app cost me well over $1000 last month with all the phones we have.
