About RoboViper
Robotics is becoming more common among elementary and high school students. They know how to assemble robots but they don’t know how to program robots because they are not familiar with programming language. It is difficult for elementary and high school students to understand the syntax and semantics used in programming language. We provide a solution by creating an android-based visual programming language for educational robots. We use a tablet computer android device as most children like to play with gadgets. With RoboViper, learning programming and robotics become easier and more enjoyable even for children.
RoboViper (Robotics Visual Programmer) is a visual programming software based on android. Users can create programming algorithms using a collection of interactive icons, where each icon represent robot commands such as moving and interacting with objects. It also supports advanced robotics features such as delay and gripper to move objects. Each icon has a property editor which enables the user to change the values or constants to allow flexibility in the visual programming. Data is transfered using bluetooth, and the robot will move according to the algorithm created by users. We use a robot line follower education with features such as wall follower and transporters.
