Keyboard backlight controller for Android
---------------------------------------------------------
*ROOTED ONLY*
Turn on or turn off the backlight of keyboard.
This is an application with only single feature ripped from AdjBrightness but with auto boot supported.
***If you installed both AdjBrightness and Keyboard backlight controller, please untick the button settings in AdjBrightness***
Good app! It solved my problem with my soft key lights that are not turning off. But when i lock my device and unlock it, the soft key lights turns on again. Kindly update dev and I will give 5 stars. Thank you for this app!
Edit/ seems unreliable sometimes led on when screen off & kills batt..... had been looking for a way to lock back lights on at all times, finally found it ... thank you dev., exactly what I wanted. 5stars
This app does what it's supposed to. It keeps the light off behind the menu, home, back and search buttons, so it's a blessing on the Motorola Triumph. Unfortunately, it also messes up once or twice a day. For no reason, it will start pulsing the "keyboard" backlight, even when the phone screen is off and when the backlight is set to "always off." To fix it, I have to open the app and toggle all the settings.
The initial release of Lollipop for the HTC One M7 has a bug where the button backlight doesn't work. This fixes it simply (if rooting your device can be considered simple) and effectively.
This fixed the backlighting of those god awful buttons, thank you so much! "Set On Boot" option would improve it, but I don't reboot often so it's not a huge drama.
Great app does exactly what it supposed to do. To the guy a couple posts down saying it doesn't work on ICS, well it works on my ICS :)... maybe its something else that's the prob
Spent a long time trying to find something that worked... and this does. Only problem is it needs to be re-applied after phone shut off, but it's not enough of an issue to worry over. Thanks so much.
It works as advertized, good features for an universal app. One issue is occuring though, backlights are regularly turning on by themselves even if display is off. Please fix this. If you set them to never come on this feature works flwlessly.
Good app! Does exactly what it should. The only thing to be updated is that sometimes it doesn't turn off backlight of kb upon locking. HTC Desire S.
Every time I restart my phone it goes back to normal even though this app is installed in internal memory. Fix it please. Otherwise it works nice.
Upon install works fine; good simple UI. But stops working every day (su log shows reqs for hours, then must restart app & sel ops again)-DroidX 2.3.3
Finally can use the phone at night without being blinded by the uncomfortably glaring light on the soft keys. What a relief! Thanks for this nice app!
But does it flawlessly. Note: Option to turn keys lights off when screen off didn't work on Dell Streak.
Great App ! It does give you control over the backlight on/off of the buttons. I have been looking for an app like it it because I want my buttons' lights to be ON as long as the screen is on.
Note! Useless with screen blocking. No start on reboot.
I've been looking for a way to turn of my Atrix 4G button lights and your app finally did it in great fashion. Works flawlessly!
Settings don't stick after reboot. Using this on Droid razr maxx with ics.
This is exactly what I've been looking for a long, long time. Does the job. Nothing more, nothing less. Love it!
Sort of works on miui rom for u8800. Turned lights off which is what I wanted, but can't turn back on. Probably hardware/roms fault though
Keyboard light still goes off! I selected the option on keeping the lights on always n they still turn off.
Perfect app. zero bullshit. only 15kb size. does nothing except whats advertised. and does it flawlessly. although my hw-key lights were light saber red and fit perfectly with my Vader wallaper.. its a must have app for sure. i do not need diaper lights to know where home-back-settings buttons are... they dont move spontaneously.
While rebooting phone.. light buttons back on.. please give auto startup activating.. so when rebooting phone we don't need to go the aplication again to turn off light buttons. Thanks
Maybe you could add option like backlight will ON if screen touched and there is timer for how long backlight will active
I like this app, but on my new device dont keep change after reboot :-( Android 4.2.1, MTK6589
in my note 2 - n7100, i'm using slimkat 4.4.2
It works great but it cant auto start. So every time i restart my phone, i have to start this app every time. :(
Didn't work on my HTC Chacha. It only turned off the 4 touch buttons under the screen like home and menu buttons. And didn't turn off the physical keyboard! :( plz update for Chacha
Thank you so much I was getting so mad about typing in the dark cuz my keyboard did not always turn on, but this solved the problem
I wanted to keep backlight on! This does a great job! Thank you! :D
Beautiful! Now please add the lock off amber and green LEDs feature to this also with the auto start on boot.
Simply doesn't work on my Desire Z, although I've just seen the "rooted only" comment.
Thanks developer! But do mention that this app requires root permission otherwise you may end up having negative reviews from unaware users who haven't rooted their device.
Saves my battery a lot! And now I don't have those little annoying lights flash every time I touch the screen. Love it!
It turns out the backlight on LG P350, but does not turn on. On H7300, it keeps the bln on, even after you shutdown the device. The "only when screen is on" option does not work on H7300.
Didn't work on my rooted (Cyanogen Mod 6.1) G1 / HTC Dream. The app "Backlight Off" does, however!
I8160P with CM10.2. I needed to re-set lights off again every few hours.
I know it works on other phones, but not on Samsumg Galaxy. DANG!
Used to work, now not so much. Turns on when lights are on, turns off when dark. Kind of opposite of what i needed...
It's Good but for me it doesn't work after wakelock. Please provide the solution for it..

Sorry if this sounds stupid as I'm new to Android. I've just bought a white Samsung Galaxy Y Pro and, to my frustration, the backlight of the physical qwuerty keyboard is pink. I've installed "Keyboard backlight controller" to shut the light of but it doesn't work...
