Cyclist: Road Cycling Magazine for Android
Like others report, crashes all the time on startup. Also it is unacceptable to force subscribers to re-download the library because we install an update?? Would not have subscribed had I known it was this poorly developed and supported.
Since installing the new version it has only run once. and I now only have issues 28 to 37, whereas before I had them all. Now it won't even run and all I get is a very patronising and anoying error message about no OPDS feed. whatever that is. If this isn't sorted out very soon I will be cancelling my subscription. Total crap. ** Edit - Found that to start it i have to clear the cache then force stop. Then it will start. Still can't get issues 1 to 4. **
Update to new version rubbish. I had the old version installed on my SD card and when it updated I got the ODPS error. So I moved it back to the device storage just to see if that worked. It does - to a point. I now get to download all the issues again and apparently my subscription has also gone AWOL as I can't download the latest magazine without paying for it. Come on Dennis - it shouldn't be that hard..... Found the issue with the latest issues - the update (or move back to deviuce storage) had wiped my subscription id. Brilliant.
Apparently I need an OPDS endpoint for this app to work. What has gone wrong with this app????
New version of the app does not load. Having the same issues as other recent reviews.
Used to be great, now it crashes on startup almost every time (something about an OPDS feed)
These guys write stuff you want to read and no feeling of an alternate agenda to satisfy manufacturers.
Content is brilliant, however I can't read any of it as the app crashes all of the time. I paid for a subscription which I can't use.
Took a subscription based upon the version I previewed online on my imac. Then I discovered I could not view this on my imac and needed a tablet! When will I be able to do this?
Superb cycling mag, great content, up to date topics, and love the way you can save your fav pages & articles in your own folder..
Makes a very uncool cyclist like me feel like an über cool Road warrior!
The magazine has a great balance of rides, interviews, reviews and advice. Love it
Really enjoyed the range of articles.
Works well enough on my nexus 7.
Very easy magazine app to use, read & navigate.
Been a happy reader since issue 1
The content is great and layout very well designed. The only change really needed is that you constantly have to re-navigate every time you switch away from the app and back.
Annoying to have to re-navigate to a page every time
What's not to like!! Bikes and stuff
The content is great, couldn't be happier. That said, there are issues with the app: downloading consistently takes several attempts, it crashes. Five stars, if these issues were fixed.
Excellent read !
Great pictures and interesting articles.
Love the way the app is presented but I'm not a convert from the printed version.
Been a fan of this magazine from day one. I love the blend of articles and reviews. The opportunity to also read the articles on my phone is great.
I love the feel of a real book or magazine, but lugging your bookshelf around isn't viable. I took out a print and digital subscription. This allows me to enjoy the magazine at home with a coffee and also read the latest and full back catalogue at work during breaks on my smart phone. Well written articles and lovely pictures have me yearning to ride my bike.
Always a good read but no justification for blatantly ripping off electronic readers like this. No excuse for charging so much when you've no distribution or printing costs. Shame on you! Would have been five stars as it is a good read but being greedy s costs you two little twinklers!!
Love it, very unbiased and helpful.
Superlative title but the samey covers are becoming oppressive.
Super extra loved it
Great magazine and a great app!
Lovely photography, excellent articles and very well written. Only drawback is envy and finding time to ride their route
So good to have the online subscription of this great magazine available on something other than an iPad
I haven't used many before but enjoy the functionality of this app and the general way the mag reads. Good all round but maybe a bit pricey if you pay full wack! Enjoy!
Always great content within Cyclist Magazine. On the whole the Android app is very good with only some minor glitches that I'm sure will be ironed out in due course. Content sometimes won't load at the first attempt but I generally find that it does second time round and it is just a case of being patient. Once loaded, the articles flow and the added 3D content in the 'Bikes' section of the magazine is nice, albeit, it would be even better if I could stop the image at different points to view.
The contents of the mag are always great. What I am not 100% on is the Android implementation. It's easily good enough to read, but there are some niggles. Multiple versions of the same mag in my library, pages redrawing when you open alternate views of the inline 'block' text and the 3d images being hard to rotate in the bike review special are 3 very small gripes. I don't know if these are standard with these type of apps as this is the only one I subscribe to London If I could give 4.5 stars, I would
Excellent magazine. Was a regular buyer of the print edition but they old issues always end up all over the house so tried digital. All the great content is there which is fantastic. Navigation is a little slow. Swiping, scrolling and opening galleries all mean a seconds delay. Hopefully this can be optimized in a future update.

Like the breadth of articles available to read off line. Plenty of bike reviews and more in depth stuff regarding tech and training/performance.
The content is really good, but on my nexus 7 the navigation is very slow and stutters a lot.
