BuzzOut is a companion app for Google Hangouts Dialer. This app redirects the calls you made through regular phone dialer to Hangouts Dialer. This includes all the calls you sent from your Android phone’s Bluetooth. This phone app prevents accidental dials that you made through regular phone line by sending the calls through the Hangout app. BuzzOut also saves the country and area code so you don’t have to worry about it when you dial phone. It will save you a lot of time and you don’t have to repeat the action on your cell phone again and again.
Note that in order to use BuzzOut, you need to have Google Hangouts Dialer installed on your Android phone. Known Issue: If your screen is locked and you dial with cars bluetooth, the app will not actually place the call until your screen is unlocked. If you use google maps or Waze while driving this shouldn't be an issue.
If you have another other issues with this dialer app, please contact us and we will resolve the issue immediately. Unfortunately we cannot solve the issues from Google Hangout Dialer itself.

Does what it says. Plus, if your phone drops its data connection when you make a call, this will fix it. Now when I make a call Waze does not freak out, Pandora does not switch to offline mode, and Signal (and other message apps) can receive messages. This is great when you are on hold...

Thanks! It's just what I needed. I had to set my dialer to complete the action through the Phone app instead of the Hangouts dialer for it to work. The easiest way for me was to delete and reinstalled the hangouts dialer to set the option to always choose the Phone app to dial out.

The first few times I tried to make a call with the Phone app it launched Hangouts, but didn't dial. Next, I launched the Hangouts Dialer app (it hadn't been used since installing this app), and then tried again and everything worked. Phone calls placed in the Phone app redirected to Hangouts and the calls went through as data calls in the Hangouts app. So, if you have any issues, start up the Hangouts Dialer and make sure it is working first, then try again. With this app, I now have a pretty much fully functional backup phone using a data-only SIM. It's a handy app.

If your phone plan is like mine with limited minutes each month, this app is great for routing all calls through Google Hangouts. This is especially useful if your car can make calls over Bluetooth. Normally, you would only be able to make regular cellular calls through your car, but this app will make the call through Hangouts instead, saving your minutes. I can't recommend this app enough for the car functionality alone.

Numbers typed in, and contacts selected, directly inside Hangouts, do NOT get rewritten by this app. BuzzOut only works for calls typed into, or handled by, the system Phone/Dialer app. That's still useful, but only does about half the job, and this problem wasn't mentioned before purchase. Also prefixing +1 on ALL your existing contacts gets you a bit closer to everything just working, but still one or two edge-cases not handled, so not quite Mom-proof. Google should just fix Hangouts!

Since freedompop Sims use a UK apn and redirect everything to a UK website or default +44 number, this app helps automatically add the +1 US code to make calls in the United States. The only flaw it has is not allowing hangouts to automatically call, but I have no gripes with that. It works, I'm happy. Definitely worth it.

This is a great app -- a simple, clean implementation that accomplishes what it is meant to do perfectly! If you are on a data-only cell plan or need to watch your minutes closely, you would do well to give this app and Hangouts Dialer a close look.

Excellent app, but needs a little work. I can get it to work if I dial a 10 digit number with the area code included. If I dial a 7 digit number or 1+a 10 digit number, Hangouts still adds +44 to the beginning. This is regardless of how I set the "Auto add area code" setting, after changing the default area code to my own. (Using a Nexus 6P on Android 7.0)

Just works. You need to be sure that the stock Android phone app is set up as your default Phone app in order for BuzzOut to route your calls through the Hangouts Dialer. Works with "OK Google, call...", works when tapping the handset icon from the Contacts app, works when dialing directly from the Phone app. If you want to route all your calls through Hangouts, this is the app! As noted by another reviewer, the Hangouts Dialer needs to be open before BuzzOut will automatically dial the call.
