Delectable Wine - Scan & Rate for Android
Took several pictures of a particular bottle. Rated that brand but of a different variety. Used a different bottle and it did the same thing. Rated a different variety but if the same manufacturer.
Good idea, but so far has only identified two wines correctly from the label. I get that it can be difficult to use recognition software to do this, however, the database can and should be refined.
Yes, it's US based, so the recommendations and notes are biased that way. But still interesting when you get a wine that has already got notes.
I was looking for wine journal app. I Googled that search term and found this. The reviews looked good. In trying it, I've been impressed with its ease of use and functionality. Works very well.
First couple of wines we have tried did not come up in the database. Bit disappointing because we love the concept
The core functionalities are here. But I wonder when app devs will stop bullshitting us with the personal information stealing. No, your app doesn't NEED access to my contacts to work. You want them. And it's not even justifiable when you can look for people on the app without this access. And also what are these wine categories? German Riesling? Oregon Pinot? How about actual type of grapes or French wine?
Pretty good, but often wines are misidentified, and never corrected. Theres no way to manually fix entries that are incorrect, so it leads to alot of misidentification. Sadly this means the most esoteric/unusual wines are often simply unable to be published and catalogued.
My girlfriend and I love to take pictures of wines we come across and write reviews together. It serves as a great personal log for all the wine we liked. It is also interesting to know where our score ranked to others that reviewed the same wine. The app still needs more users for it to be totally social and there have been some wines that the program can't recognize. That being said, we have seen the app respond well to requests to add wine and know this will get better as time goes on.
Great for recording the wines I've tasted. I'm not so sure about the scale... what's the point of 10 stars if you can't use all of them? I think 1-5 would be easier. And maybe with 1/2 stars if you really gotta have it. But allowing 0.1 increments is a little much. Otherwise I like how easy it is to use... if only I could remember to use it more often! :)
It's a great way to chronicle the wines you've tasted and to get other people's opinions on wines you want to buy. My only complaint is that the feature that tells you how much the wine costs doesn't work. Every wine I enter, the app says is sold out even if I scan it while I'm in the state store. Oh well. Great tool regardless.
Being able to enter what you like or not is all fine and requires all the effort from the user. However there is little reward such as proposals based on your likes and depending where you are. Unless you have easy access (not only financial) to great Pinot noir bottles this app has limited interest. It has a huge potential that is unfortunately not used.
Seems cool, but I can't get it to save the bottle I actually have. For example, it was confusing a white blend for a red blend of the same brand. I hit the edit button, the correct bottle was in the suggested list, but after I selected it I didn't have an option to save it, and it didn't update after I hit the back arrow or soft key. The year I entered also didn't save. I've tried taking multiple pictures and I've tried a few different bottles with the same issues, so I can't really use the app.
I really like this app. It's got a great community and a nice range of wines in the database to discover. However, I've been finding it hard to get new wines identified recently :( Has the developers abandoned the app? Emails have not been answered too.
I like the crowd sourcing for wine. Normally finds the more common vineyards but some of the lesser known stuff is a miss. Some ratings tend to be generous (not sure how to rate less than 6.1) and most wines seem to have 8 + ratings. I have had a few good bottles by the app recommendation but most of the time I can't source the bottle in Canada. The app has a bit of a learning curve to use effectively, but I can't complain for a free app with no annoying ads. Overall it works well and can be useful.
Was fantastic but now completely unresponsive to incorrectly identified wines, which leaves you unable to change them. No response to emails, Facebook messages nor flagging wines via their app. It's back to Cellartracker for me. Shame.
I like how well this can help keep track of wines I've tried, but app is a little clunky and lots of little annoyances. It doesn't seem to recommend wines to you with any intelligence. Finally, once you've given a wine a rating and a score, you can't go back and change it. That's annoying.
4 out if 5 wines scanned came back close-but-not-quite-there. Eg wine maker was right, but it was a Cabernet Sauvignon and the only option was for a shiraz. Revised up because of speed wines were added correctly
Delectable navigation is difficult. I find it very frustrating Can't add friends after rated Can't browse wines of a producer Can't add friends names only delectable users I want to add friends for me to remember so it should take any name I type Can't browse wines of a variety To much emphasis on sharing I want my list for my use I don't do online sharing Can't get back to find prices after rating. Always sold out. Want to know historical price even if sold out.
Even when the wine isn't in their database, they add it almost immediately for you. The only suggestion I would make would be to simplify the rating system. Maybe assign certain words to a handful of numbers and eliminate the decimals. For example 5 is love, 3 is like, 1 is dislike, etc. I often find my ratings to contradict each other: I'll rate a wine 9.5 and then I look back at a wine that is 9.4 and think, "but I liked that last one better!"
This is a great wine app. Like all apps there is room for improvement but overall I rate it. Having expert opinions and straight to the point opinions are great. Its wine in real life. Huge catalogue of wines. I have taken a few really obscure bottles and they have come up. I will continue to share my reviews for others to read.
I wish there was an easier way to add a wine that doesn't show up in the database. I usually add the details in the comments when sending for an expert review but they often get ignored.
Most South African wines are not on their database compare to Vivino as an example, adding new wines is simply impossible, the app constantly freezes and worst all emails sent to developer simply remain unanswered, this shows how serious they are about the app, at least an acknowledgement would be welcome!! It is a total waste of time, unless one is a PRO or an EXPERT, there is not much chance to contribute and share wines to the community. Though it will not make a difference to the bigger picture, but time to delete this useless App!!!
Originally rated this app long ago as five star. Since then though, support has gone downhill. I have several items that are still not found, and it appears they are being ignored. Just wish the support would be back at the level it was originally.
I'll never sign in or create an account with an app that I haven't seen in use. Having "give us your info so we can spam you and sell it" as the only screen that come up on launch makes you crap.
It's nice to keep track of what I enjoy. Most wines have been rated so it's great to check on wines you have not purchased before. No lag or errors on my galaxy 5s.
Overall useful and a pleasure to use. Has spared me on lots of bad bottles. People rate wine like they rate themselves: 7 being average as opposed to 5. Just be wary of near matches...
Good image recognition and fairly intuitive interface. The big negative point is that ratings and reviews are not personal, everything is posted publicly. Therefore keeping a personal list is impossible without sharing it with everyone.
This app is great! Identifies wines almost immediately. Wines not identified by the database are identified by people very quickly. App recognizes wine professionals and keeps professional ratings seperate from consumer ratings.
I love to try new wines, but budget is making me aspire to be a connoisseur of cheap wine. This helps me keep track of what I've tried and what I think of it. It's also great to shop with. I just take a picture of a bottle I'm thinking of getting, and I get a rating, reviews, and tasting notes. I haven't reviewed enough wines yet to get suggestions, but I'm really looking forward to it!
I went to Vivino as it allowed me to save the change to the type of wine once I had to edit it if the scanner picked up the wrong type. Yours won't save once you move the check mark...stupid, frustrating.
Syu easy to find most wines. Would like the computer vs cell phone interface to be more compatible, but overall the app's ease of use, accessibility, and database is incredible.
This app has tons of wines, and can find the bottle you are looking at from the camera. Had trouble inputting vintage.
I tried a few wine tracking applications and this one won out for me. I am by no means a wine expert (let's say enthusiast), and this app has been great for helping me keep track of what I've tried and liked (or really didn't like). Haven't experimented too much with the other features, but the personal wine list/ability to upload is more than enough for me!
Great App, better than the rest, although features are similar across them, this one is easier to use. Would have been happy to pay for it too. Only 4 stars because it hasn't yet found me my perfect wine.
Great example of a fun cloud app, immersive collection and selection but still need to double check the photo recognition worked.
Good for keeping track for wine I like but definitely could be more intuitive and link to more thorough reviews
I love being able to tag my husband and have him share his comments. That way, when I go to the store, I can get something we will both love!
Best wine app out there for tracking your experiences so you'll know what to get again and what to avoid. There's so many good wines out there and so little time to waste it on reexperiencing a dud
Incredibly easy to use, fast look up, accurate ratings.

Works pretty well, but if there is a problem on the permissions (like it can't find it's location), or if you want to make a correctIon, you will lose the whole review! If that is fixed, I'll be glad to give five stars.
