About SOBR1 - powered by CheckBAC
SOBR1, an innovative new personal BAC monitoring system, is designed to be the centerpiece for effective and enforceable prevention programs aimed at drunk driving, underage drinking and other alcohol-based social problems.
Effective alcohol-abuse prevention is only possible when individuals, families, schools, civic organizations and government agencies have the power to deliver a comprehensive effort that encompasses education, engagement, encouragement and enforcement.
By combining comprehensive data capture and sharing capabilities with the most accurate fuel-cell breathalyzer technology on the market, SOBR1 represents a powerful and versatile platform that enables such an approach.
SOBR1 empowers users to transform their alcohol responsibility from “encouragement” to “engagement”. It provides industry-best BAC accuracy, as well as safe driving options, hotel locations and other features not offered by conventional breathalyzer applications.
But it also delivers a powerful, social component…
Key process features include:
1. Real-time video and audio documentation of user engaging breathalyzer with automatic "SOBR1 Report" sent to designated authority (parent, campus security, probation officer, etc.)
2. GPS location
3. Automatic upload to server
4. Panic button feature
5. Automatic forward to friends (heroes) and/or designated authority (coaches, campus security, room adviser, etc.)
6. Walking directions to nearby hotels and restaurants

I was unable to get this to work th my BACtrack breathaliser although they are advertised as working together. The same breathaiser on the same phone works flawlessly with the "BACtrack" app so it must be this app that is causing the issue. Other than that: The Panic button is pointless and far too easy to press accidently, I sent out 2 panic messages accidently while trying to get the app working with my breathaliser. I would like to be able to switch off this function. I would also like the ability to turn off the "Hotels and Lawyers" tab which is not required for my use and which uses data and GPS needlessly. The "settings" link does nothing. It would be usefull to have one (or more) of the "Hero" contacts, password protected - so that it cannot be removed without a password (which is sepperate to the login password). It would be great if there was a companion app for parents/carers which could be used to schedule or request breath tests and which would notify them automatically of any failed or missed test or a password protected area of this app so they could set up a schedule for tests. The app seems like a BETA despite being a paid for app.
