About Super Dimmer Pro

Ever wake up in the middle of the night to check your phone, only to be blinded by the light? Your phone is on the lowest brightness setting but it still burns your eyes? Never have that happen again!

Super Dimmer Pro not only dims your phone lower than the manufacturer or other third-party apps allow you to, but it also turns off the hardware buttons' backlight, and automatically turns itself on at night and off in the morning! It is also highly configurable - change the dimness level, when to turn on, when to turn off, etc.

You can also launch the application whenever you want, even if it is not night time. Worried about being obnoxious at a movie theater? No problem! Just launch this app, set it to manual mode by checking the "Ignore Power Toggle" button, and never feel self conscious again.

Due to popular request, I've reverted the app to allow for no notification in the status bar, this time with a setting. However, due to the way Android works, checking this setting will lead to unstable behavior. It is NOT recommended. To avoid bright flashes, leave this setting as-is, with the notification.

It has also been shown to save battery on certain devices (most Samsungs, Moto RAZR / RAZR MAXX, Nexus, and most Nokias)

Don't forget to add Super Dimmer to your exception list if you use a task killer!

Try before you buy! If you are not sure you will like this app, start out with the free version here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dberm22.SuperDimmer . Keep in mind that certain features in the Pro version will not be available in the free version.

----------------------------------------
USAGE:
On first launch, hit the menu button and configure the settings to your liking. Click "Apply Settings" when happy. You can turn the dimmer off at any time by clicking the notification icon. Note: Turning on the screen sets the dimness according to the time of day, if "Ignore Power Toggle" is unchecked (OFF by default). If it is checked, dimmer will only be turned on manually.

Instant relief. Turning down screen brightness and using basic dimmer apps don't compare to this. Thank you.

Options are bad a, and I love the start and stop times you can choose. Notification has been buggy, but not recently. Just tap on, tap off, but maybe a 'hide notification icon' option would make it even better if possible!

Works amazing except when plugged into charger... Then it comes on every time its unlocked regardless of power toggle settings in preferences. This used to not happen so maybe it's a glitchy update...? I have to uninstall. Not worth paying past the free version.

Worked great until a few days ago. Will change to 5 stars when it works again.

I love this app and use it all the time. Pretty stable on my note 2, only issue is when I check task manager there are often multiple instances of the app running, as many as 4, which can't be great for the battery. Still recommend it though!

I use this a lot at night. My s3 is very bright even at lowest settings. I like the ease of use but it needs a widget.

Again dberm22 gives us an app that makes like just that little bit better. After using it for a day or two you will wonder how you managed to get by without it for so long.

This is the first dimmer app I've tried and it works well. It gives you a wide range of dimness so you can chose which works best for you and it easy to change depending on what light you are in. I get migraines and brightness is a trigger and even on the lowest factory setting my Samsung galaxy s4 is still really bright to me so this app has helped a lot.

Emailed programmer months ago, but still no fix. Extremely frustrated by it now and have found a better solution even though paid for PRO. Search "Screen Dimmer" for better options. Uninstalling.

I bought this version hoping it would be less buggy than the free one. Instead it barely works at all. Went back to free version. SGSII

Big help with the update menu is much better. I didn't turn my screen to dark but if i do im not to sure how i can reset it because of the manual reset option. I had to be in a pitch black place to fix it. Even after installing it wouldn't reset. Something to think about.

This app has been the best solution for dimming the incredibly bright screen of the Motorola Droid Razr. My only complaint is the 1-second flicker from dim to full brightness that occurs at times when changing settings. If I was prone to seizures, I would be worried.

I think this is well worth buying. It works for me. I like the options and that you can set it and leave it to run automatically. Far better than others that you have to remember to activate after booting up.

The free app suited my needs perfectly, but I decided to support the developer. Definitely saves my eyes at night.
