MediaHouse-Pro UPnP/DLNA for Android
Not to happy. Since the latest update on our android tv units the app keeps crashing and as a result I now seem to need to restart the media servers twice a day to reset the cache. We are lucky to get 30 minutes of content before the app crashes and the android TV needs to be reset
This was better for me in the previous version. I hate the "updated" display. App used to have a black background. Now it's stark white with ugly blue trim ... lights up my otherwise dark room for viewing. Bad theatre. Bought pro version. Have not used since "upgrade." BRING BACK THE BLACK.
Did like it! Worked well. But every time the app gets an update I have to load all my movies in again. Piss me off! I have better things to do. So now auto update is off! That's a good idea Not!
Whilst it is lovely to know the app is finally getting updates, the recent facelift is just ugly. If it's not going to look like a modern Nougat app, please bring back the old interface.
Terrible update, I was using this app for movies mainly and now no more. Good thing I found an alternative called dlna movie play, that's a nice app I am using now for my movie library
Even if you kill me now, but I liked the old user interface better. It had everything right on the screen and I did not have to go through a pull down menu (especially important for the movie folder. Any chance to make this selectable as the default folder on start-up maybe?). Next problem: if one wants to get a movie info on a movie whose title only consists of a number (e.g. "2012"), it throws an error.
Plays music from computer to amp. Best app of its kind for this. I've tried several others. This is the best
Terrible white interface. At night time eyes are burned... Why you removed 'favorites' from 'start screen'?!
Always reliable, some of the best money I've spent on an app! The new interface looks great.
The best android upnp/dlna controller app. i can control media from dlna server on pc to xbox one or 4k panasonic and live tv from panasonic tuner to android phone
Okay for streaming movies but does not 'see' my Chromecast Audio. Ironically, it can stream to a Sony WiFi speaker which is Google Cast.
Able to view media from our pvr but not download it. Worked on the free version with 2 free downloads but not on the pro one we paid for!
Just noticed this was updated. Works great. I use it with VLC to stream live cable channels from my HDHomerun Prime cablecard on my local network.
App does what i need which is play my videos and download them to my tablet from my network hard drive. But it wont play audio on some of my movies.
Good app. Easy use
i use this to control a NAS Twonky server + Windows Media Player combi...works great. Am just missing something though..while a music is playing aready, I exit the app. Later, opened the app again...is there a way to get me to the NOW PLAYING screen with the actual music playing synced to the what's displayed by the app in my mobile device?
Could use a little polish. Hitting back does different actions, needs a music, photo, tv show instead of just movies and favorites. When playing music, and i stop it, i cant remove the song from q without jumping through hoops. Otherwise good app, not too expensive so was worth the purchase.
I use to stream from NAS DLNA to local android devices and its works well building good metadata for your media collection. Was a 4 or 5 star app but it no needs to add cromecast support for play to devices. As the app does not play anything its self and its core function is to route media from a source to a player device its now just frankly behind the curve and redundant. Hope to see it added soon and rating will once again rise.
I had been using the free version of this for years across tons of devices and found out just now there is a pro version. So naturally i brought it ????
This is an early review as It was only downloaded today, I have it running on an android tv box. I have all my films and tv series's on a nas, the streaming seems to work fine and dandy and getting the 'Movie Info' for films has not been a problem. Unfortunately trying to get the 'Info' for tv series's is a bit touch and go. All i really want to do is add the program artwork to the folder, im not bothered about the actual info and searching google i cannot find a way to add custom artwork for the folder so i have a few folders that are just blue folders. The only reason I paid for this over using the free version (and other apps) was the possibility to have the artwork.
I originally started with the free version of this app. However, while paused in the pro version it still shows ads. Considering this is not only a $4 app but the fact that I paid for it to support the developer it's completely ridiculous that they force ads on their pro users. Do not buy this app. There are plenty of other options that don't try to double dip. And even then, the free version shows ads regardless so you get nothing out of buying it.
Most of the time this app completely fails to find my router, which acts as dlna server. There doesn't seem to be any way to manually enter server ip address, or to get it to rescan without exiting/restarting the app. Chromecast support would be a huge bonus - any chance?
I paid for it, and never use it. Use bubble, that does what I want. Still use bubble, revisited and much improved. Still room for improvement, what would really make this 6 star, is like a jukebox feature. Create as an add-on, so charge more? It would be worth it. Music jukebox or video jukebox!
This app works well, at least when it runs. It has been having an issue 'checking the license server' and fails out. A pretty raw deal at the moment.
App did not work with Google TV, it crashed every time. Uninstalled app and tried to request for a refund but got nothing but silence from developer. Hoping my 4 bucks making them richer.
Worked great for couple of days. Now just crashes when Tmbd info comes up. Develooers email address doesnt work. Refund requested via google play. Gave it another try and now doesn't find any devices to play from. POS
But conveniently stopped working once I purchased the "PRO" version. The videos are choppy, and it won't even view pictures anymore. Not even re downloading the free version works now, and good luck getting feedback or help.
4 Stars I have had this installed on several android devices and using for months now. It finds my media which is on a hard drive attached to my ASUS router via USB very fast. Movies play over wifi pretty well, but credit that to the router and hard drive I think. It finds movie posters fairly well, but you need exact spelling of the movie name in the file. You can change the title in the app and search manually though. Music: It is not too bad, big issue is playlists. Creating playlists should be a lot easier. Press and hold on a song and there SHOULD be a menu item to 'add to playlist' and pick a playlist to add too.
I use it to look through the content of my DLNA Server and throwing onto the TV without touching the TV remote. Its a dream. I would give five stars, if it would be possible to scan for covers of TV series as well.
If internal music and picture viewer are not good and handicapped.
Love this app and use it every single day, however today got an error saying 'this application is not licensed'... Can't use it at all.:( what happened?) 03/02/2015 - glad to see it is now fixed!!!!
avg mobile detects as malicious! works great but would feel better if antivirus didn't scan and delete as virus
Good media player but really disappointed by photo viewer. Please improve the viewing resolution as all photos look blurred and unrefined.
I guess the last update broke it. I can no longer access my files on my home network with this app. It stopped working soon after I purchased the pro version. Can support please respond?
A great application that not only looks great, but is easy to use. Works perfectly with my READY AS DLNA media server and plays files effortlessly. Great App!
Works good, but CM security finds malware virus inside. Please correct the problem.
Update caused app to stop working! uninstall and reinstall to make it work.. Unfortunately not very convenient when you have paid for the app.. But a must do..

Pretty happy most of the time, but really inconvenient when not connected to the internet on holidays and it wants to check the license. Way to annoy! I have the full version, let me use it without hotspotting to launch it.

Great DLNA player! Too bad it is only a player though (does not cast phone media to other devices). A bit expensive for such a limited app, but it does very well what it is supposed to do.
