Dash - Drive Smart for Android
I own two of the best-selling Fords on the planet, but there's no maintenance or pricing information?! Not great. Edit: fiesta MKiv, and S-max 07
I just bought a OBDLink LX, and it works perfectly with the official OBDLink app. The dash app is able to recognize the OBDLink but not able to connect it. Can you please help me on that?
No way to exit the program; it runs itself even when I'm not in the car. Unnecessary battery drain.
WiFi ODB does not work
Crashes all the time...
Works well but will not keep internet connection.
App has a lot of great features that are nice when they work. I seem to have Bluetooth issues all the time with my OBD reader where after a whole it stops automatically connecting and I have to reset the connection. I am not sure if this is a problem related to Dash or not, but all my other Bluetooth connections work fine.
Would love to give this 5 stars, but am at a point where I consider uninstalling. When I listen to music or have nav via Bluetooth ... I get "Dash is starting / ready roll / engages hyper drive" EVERY 30 SECONDS. Unending. Talks over the music. Over the nav. Over my phone calls. HOW DO I TURN IT OFF??? Looked in Settings, but does not appear to be an option...
It keeps saying "engine off. Turn on car" although my car is on. Thought it might be the obd-ll but it worked with torque. This is app is pretty cool I just wish it would work
Don't like it at all, too slow to get started with the whole registration process / garage manual car creation, and even worse, there is no landscape mode, and considering that I'd use it on a tablet in my car's dash (the name of the app says it all), it's 100% useless.
Not enough detail in some areas, too much in others. Not easily configured, and also extremely obnoxious in it's nannying of your driving. Completely useless for electric vehicles, SOC reporting isn't right at all (bad math reading PIDs), can't configure the basic screen, BUY OBD adapter in your face always, even if you're already connected to one. It could have potential, but it needs a lot of work, and seems overly complicated for what little it actually does. it's free, BUT if you want real data, pay for Torque Pro, this app will only frustrate you.
Never actually did a trip though it bitched it started then 5-8 secs later it quit. Wouldn't update stuff either. Could sign in on my phone but not the PC. Nothing obvious for online assistance not even long time email.... Just gave up....
Great app, works better than other popular OBDII apps. I would love if you added a feature to measure horsepower like Torque does. Other than that perfect for instant mpg
Had all kinds of trouble trying to connect to the Bluetooth dongle but once it finally did the app works well. I really like the live information panel and the IFTTT integration makes recording trip information easy.
Short just a few features from being an absolute killer app. Devs should look at aCar for fuel fill ups and some other niceties... Really like this so far though and I'm driving an old car that doesn't report everything this app supports.
Can't login to app. Can't register either as my account "already exists". Email support is useless too. Haven't gotten a response... a month after my request! Ridiculous!
Why does this needlessly require an internet connection to do everything including just changing settings? Gauges are worthless in landscape.
I really hate to give this app less than five stars because it is absolutely the best functioning and best looking app of its type I've found. It's incredibly useful. The problem is with the nuisance of it. In the settings you can only turn off all notifications and all audio. Not specific ones. So every time I turn off my car and walk into a building my phone loudly announces that my trip is over which is very annoying. A recent update added stupid cutesy phrases like "Engaging hyperdrive" and "Read to roll" when it connects to my car. I absolutely hate it. I just want the damn thing to track my mileage and monitor for engine codes, not entertain me. When I want entertainment I will use the Netflix app, not the Dash app. My second problem is after moving from an Outback to a Prius I get constant hard braking warnings and excessive acceleration warnings. Hard braking I just get from gently slowing down to turn. Acceleration warnings come simply from getting up to highway speed on a short highway onramp. I can't disable just these notifications and I'm really sick of having to hear and dismiss them constantly or turn off ALL notifications for the app completely.
This has been very nice to have... Especially when used in conjunction with IFTTT.
Really good and simple app
Great app, just one issue, reported consumption on diesel engines still is higher than normal. Around 2 L/100km higher from what I can tell. I keep getting bad scores because of this. Problem still present as far as I can tell, although not as worse. Rating 5 stars because I like the app and the effort the people behind it put.
The new update is nice, but I wish I could turn off the compass. Mine jumps all over the place and is inaccurate. This is the only so I have a problem with. Google maps and Waze work fine
I have been using this for roughly 4 years now. I have seen the UI change every few months. Still, the functionality has been only getting better. I love how this app makes me learn about better driving techniques by using the points reward system. Overall the best OBD app.
Weird that it doesn't work with my diesel engine car which always indicates 0 for kpl
Be nice if you didn't change my settings after I installed the app if I don't want sound I don't want sound
Back to being superb.....
The box heights are too big and the title bar is wasted space. Thus less information on screen at a time. Otherwise...it's decent.
Really like this app, works super well with my cheapy chinese ODBII reader, and the new updates, love the new voices, the stats are a little more than I need, but it does help me keep my foot off the gas.
I enjoy the app, but it has its shortcomings. Basic use for me is to hands off track mileage and fuel consumption. Repair look up is not functioning in my area. My preferred method is on my cars Android head unit. Problem is that to do tracking the u it must be connected to the internet. If you lose connection at any point, the app will stop tracking your trip. I would like to see offline support with syncing to the website once connected.
I like the concept of this app but it's too dull. It would be great if there was more detailed information. I understand that the app is trying to be as simple and intuitive as possible. However, some extra data and explanations would be great. A web dashboard similar to the app would also be helpful!
I've sent logs to the developer multiple times. They are quick to respond, but the issues have not been resolved. In fact, I just lowered the rating to 1 star because it's getting worse. Now every day or two it will stop connecting altogether and I have to go into the Android BT settings and delete and re-pair my OBDLink. The app is now almost useless.
Hello team add bikes as vehicle type I'm currently using this app with my ktm duke 200 if this feature added ill rate 5stars
It's simple. It's fun to try for a higher score. Not very technical, but I think that's the point. It's great for tracking fuel economy.
Cool app but doesn't always start as it should
New version 3.0.2.1 crashes every time you access Google maps trip details but it did fix the dashboard crash. I'll add back a star for the fix, but you still have more bugs to fix. Whoever beta tested this should be fired immediately. I would give it zero stars if I could. My old reviews were 4 stars, how the mighty have fallen.
I'm unable to connect to a Carista OBD with my Note 4. I was able to connect a Nexus 6P to the same Carista with no issues. The native Carista app works with no issues on my Note 4. Dash just can't connect for some reason.
Got sick of the excessive acceleration alert, maybe my engine size is not included correctly in the calculation but way too sensitive to be useful. The compass is so sensitive it changes too quickly to read. Plus no option to control the music you're listening to... My phone is my radio.
Was told ver 3.0.3 was to be released in the week of Jan 25th to resolve a connection problem. Version still available to download is 3.0.2 last updated Jan 6th.
I'm a big fan of this app, my previous complaint was taken care of in v3, but unfortunately it introduced a new bug that don't auto connect to my car any more. Once that's fixed, will raise to 5 stars

I've been trying to use this app for over 6 month. And now I'm fed up with it. It just won't reconnect to my OBD-II (OBDLink MX, supposed to be the best) reliably. Sometimes, it will work for a couple of days and then out of nowhere, it won't reconnect. I have to force stop the app itself so that it reconnect. Reseting bluetooth doesn't help, only stopping the app (or restarting the whole phone) will fix this. Clearly the problem is in the app itself. Same behaviour on 2 different cars. I opened multiple case and sent multiple log file to try to work on this with the developer but never got any meaningful result. Uninstalling now.
