NYC Health Ratings for Android
Nice simple and functional app. Occasional JSON parsing error on some searches but otherwise nice app.
stupid app
Stopped working
It's horribly fun to browse the places with bad scores. Excellent work!
Uninstalled.

I am adamant about checking grades of restaurants prior to eating food from them. More convenient than going to NYC's site
This is important info to have on your phone. I'll never eat at a B restaurant again. App works great.
Well this settles it, not only is the food full of salt and sugars its full of vermin too. Well at least its protein.
The app icon of a rat is nasty. Drop it.
Trust your judgement but use this app as well. Search works very well.
Much improved since last time I tried this app I can now read the font. Now it is worthy of 5 stars.
Use this before going into any restaurant in the city.
Great app!
The map is a little inaccurate and the list could be a little easier to sort through. Ratings are somewhat up to date and accurate. Not bad. Needs work!!!
I have learned restaurants lie, and keep a Grade Pending sign, or even worse hide their sign when not an A. I use this app when out, looking for a place to eat, and when ordering in. It is easy to use, and tells you what was wrong. It is very useful, found a place with no sign was a C. Much easier to use than the Web version.
Interface is a little wacky but overall works really well.
Awesome!
The official NYC restaurant inspection website is terrible on mobile devices, so this app is greatly appreciated.
Great, exactly what I needed: same data as the website but more user-friendly. One small bug: the keyboard won't disappear. HTC Inspire.
Awesome app all new yorkers should get this
Some information is better than no information. It's good to know that a restaurant has an A. But you can still get an A if you have mice or roaches. The ability to click on a location and see not only their rating, but the violations that make up the rating, would make this a 5 star app. I'll use this until something better comes along.
I would love this app if the filters worked properly. I travel to a neighborhood select restaurants by location and restaurants near my home appear. It worked the first week, now its pointless
The app isn't optimized for tablets its not using the Android 4.0 Holo UI, but it is useful.
Love the design and search is well tuned
Great app. It doesn't crash and it's easy to use. It finally has a decent icon and a proper app name. The search function works well.
No more eating with the rats (now i missed the picture in the icon)! I love how you can search by location and see the letter grade in the list.
UNABLE TO PARSE RESPONSE FROM SERVER KEEPS POPPING UP PLEASE FIX FOR FIVE STARS
Great app. I use it all the time. I dont have to restaurant to realize its low rated. Can check way in advance.
What a lovely app! It's helped me so much while ordering food when I'm not actually in front of the store - so there's no way to tell if they have an A. This changed that.
Great idea and well executed BUT how up to date are the ratings? Are they updated regularly and current?
Worked great before. Since recent update, it won't pull up a restaurant by location. I've even put in the exact location, full address, and it shows me restaurants miles away. I'm uninstalling. I hope there's a better alternative app that actually works.
I use this app religiously and am hoping for a nicer ui and also a more robust interface. I would even pay for something more refined. Waiting
Needs work, but is worth the effort to figure out. I have used this a few times now, to see why a B was posted. I even caught a frozen yogurt place in the Staten Island mall in a lie about their B grade. Thanks!
A must have app for those who eat out...
It works, but needs serious improvement: -Needs "use current location" to actually do something. It's a checkbox that leaves my head scratching. I would expect it to show nearby restaurants, so I can see which have what ratings. -Tapping on the little arrow to expand the rating is seriously annoying, needs to be the whole line. There's no other reason to tap on the rating apart from seeing detail, why not make the whole line do the expansion when you tap? -searching for a known restaurant gives poor results. Do I need to uncheck "use current location" or something? Very unintuitive.
It seems good at first glance but it first only showed Manhattan restaurants and a search never yields any results when entering zip codes or restaurant name, even places that show in the listing. I'll await an upgrade because it seems like a good idea
Until we get an official app from the city, this API tool will do. The search feature needs refinement.

This used to be a handy app, but the information it accesses is out of date--no ratings dated later than mid-2016. It should either be fixed or taken down. NYC Health department web site has a lookup tool with up to date information.
