Works perfectly fine for my purpose. All I need is notification of any voicemails left on the Ooma machine, and this app delivers. If someone called, and didn't leave a message, quite likely it wasn't important, and so, I don't need to know who called. Although, I have seen missed call notifications by this app.

Great app. I don't usually pay for apps, but this one was worth it.

I have archived calls that repeatedly get alerted as new calls although they are 3 years old & marked as read! Very annoying!

Orig Review feb2016. This is the first app I've paid for. Sure it's only 99 cents but I believe I've wasted my money. I get notifications of missed calls and voice mail a day late. When I check the voice mail archive the saved messages are in random order. Is it that difficult to put them in chronological order? Fix these issues and I'll adjust my review. UPDATE: 30aug2016 and my saved messages are still in random order. Thanks for putting in no effort to fix this :(

Does exactly what I need! Stock Ooma app was killing my battery. All I wanted was to check voicemail. This is perfect. Nice work!

P70%

I tried using the official Ooma app, but the official app is so unreliable I came back to this app. The Voicemail Checker for Ooma app will reliably notify me of missed calls and voicemails. Thank you to the developer!

It is a delight to listen to my voicemails on my phone and quick to access them. I've just tried it a few times but they seem much clearer than when I listen on the Ooma machine.

I've been using this for about a year now, and it has been a great way to keep on top of calls and messages coming into the home phone when I'm on the go (or when my daughter is monopolizing the home phone!) The UI is pretty basic - but the base functionality is exactly what I needed.

Been ok, until a few months ago. I'm getting tons of notifications of old calls and messages, for a line that receives at most one call a week. Just now I was prompted by a notification from a call received 11 months ago! Is anyone still working on this? I applaud the effort, but it's growing pointless.

I didn't want to subscribe to Ooma Premier, but really wanted to get a notification on my cell phone when I had an Ooma voicemail waiting for me. Previously, I had an iPhone, and no such app existed for iOS. I was really happy to find this app when I got my Samsung Galaxy S III. A suggestion for a new feature would be to have a waiting message notification displayed on the icon. Also, it would be nice if the app automatically checked for new messages when opened, or perhaps it automatically does that?

D70%
by D####:

Works well but 2 complaints 1) the notification does not go away after listening to the voice message 2) When opening the app, it does not open the directory of voice mails, but rather the settings, which is not what you want most of the time

by U####:

I love this. I couldn't tell from the description, but it retrieves your voice mail for playback on your cell phone. I hate the Ooma web interface for playback, this app does it. Not real pretty, but it does the job. If you have an Ooma this app is for you. I have basic Ooma so I don't get a copy of any messages emailed to me, just a notification. Well done.

I agree with others that this is a great app and has a great developer. I installed it and had troubles playing messages from the VM Archive, so I sent some details to the developer and he quickly replied with a suggestion that the Amazon mp3 player that I had installed might now work as a general mp3 player for this app. I installed Google Play Music as he suggested and now it works perfectly. Thanks!

I really like that I have the option to leave the voicemail light on even after I've been notified of a message. Great app.

UPDATE: The latest upgrade added some terrific additions! Check it out. Still 5 star! I've been needing a tool like this for sometime, especially since I no longer pay attention to the Voicemail light on the Ooma box. Now you can be notified if you have Voicemail whether you are home or out and about. The interface is simple and to the point, extremely easy use and understand! Try it, its worth the money! (IMO!)

E-mailed him yesterday with an issue I had with JellyBean and today I have a fix. This app makes it really easy to check my OOMA voicemail. Don't have to worry if I missed a call anymore.

U70%
by U####:

The interface is rough looking and is not intuitive. But, at least there IS an OOMA app, and having no app at all would be worse than having an ugly, unintuitive app.

I70%
by I####:

This app is a great idea. however I am having some of the same problems mentioned here by others. Notification of missed calls and voice mails are not coming up promptly. Sometimes hours and even days after the call. If I go in and hit "check now" that usually works but obviously it would be nice to get notifications sooner. I should have to go in and check.

K70%

It's great to have a way to get message notifications when I'm away from home (Ooma Premier isn't worth the monthly cost to me). Since the last couple of updates, though, I keep getting the same messages over and over, with a different date, even. Pretty annoying, and it's using a lot of space on my phone.

I love the service this app provides. I'd give it 5 stars for sure if the notifications it provides also had the caller id information of the person who left a message in the notification (name or number).

This is a problem reported by others. I also get notified of new voicemails or missed calls when, in fact, they are actually old voicemails and missed calls. These are often voicemails from a month ago!!! Dan, can you please respond or look into this? Otherwise, I like the app. It is a nuisance to be notified of "old" voicemails.
