I wish those who go "it doesn't work" would get a clue first - they'd likely find out it's their speech engine, or lack of one. If this is you, go to your Android Voice Input and Output. - Text to Speech Settings and find out if you have one enabled, or have one at all. If it's stock, chances are it's intolerable, so try Ivona (don't be conned by SVOX, it's an expensive joke, and it's on you). IVONA is free, and is at best much less intolerable than the alternatives, but you can't get better on a phone.

Under my language & keyboard settings I have the built-in google tts which works, but app for not seem to read anything, maybe we just need a tutorial to understand how it works. Managed to randomly get it to work, from main screen you need to check the headlines first then click play button, but you may need to tap or delete some of the headlines to get it going. Very buggy in my opinion. HTC one X
