Not sure what it does. Am I supposed to be able to see other "dash cams" with this? This won't work for me as my dash is rounded and my phone will not stay up. I've tried doing drive-along videos by putting my phone in the dash after hitting record. One bump or turn and it just flops over and all I get is like a half hour of the sky

nice & awesome app saved my money on creepy Chinese dash cams with dumbest price. my advice is buy used smartphone which are comes with nice cam. with smart phone you didn't require much care about battery backup time you can connect it through power bank. but for dash cam while you are using dash cam you can't power off you car if you switch off car ignition video recording also stop. many off them have only 2/3 hrs battery backup and charging time are 7 hrs or more than time require

Was working well with s6 then started skipping recording times taking photos automatically at random intervals. Issue has continued to my s8+. Or do I need to buy the pro version. Would also be good to select your own folder to save videos to and drive selection. Besides these issues A brilliant app.

After trying the leading car cam app it let its self down as the recordings were not saved. This app works perfect. Has some very good settings and they all work fine. Remember to adjust your video settings to infinity or u may get blurring. Thanks developers

Tried quite a few dash cam apps with my S6 and most simply don't record complete journeys, lose data, aren't compatible with my sat nav, are too complicated or just plain don't work. This one seems fine so far and has a nice balance between functionality and ease of use.

Was working beautifully on Samsung Note 3. But video is totally blurred using LG v20! Tried to tinkle with settings but doesn't work. I tried changing all the focus options but still won't work. I've sent you the log file as requested. Really appreciate your fast response. For that I'm increasing to 3 stars. Will give 5 stars once problem is resolved. Problem resolved within 24 hours! Great support from the developer!

Liked the app. It works fine. Want to purchase full version but i am not yet as i am having an issue....On all the videos the speed displays 0MPH AND IT DOESN'T measure speed on the display itself when recording. It just sticks to zero. Everything else is fine. I am using Motorola's MOTO Xplay 32gb dual sim. Good app.

Used to work well, but video recording is no longer working since the last update. None of the modes can initialize even though they worked well before. Will have to switch to a different app. Edit - the last update caused the issues. Phone is up to date and camera works perfectly. Just DRV is having none of it.

Very good app but it slows down my other apps when running them at the same time. For example, waze is very slow to react when this app is running. Other apps like playing music over Bluetooth or even answering the phone react very slow. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if this problem can be fixed since it just might be the video portion of my note 4.

The theory is great but the practice is not. It keeps telling me it can't initialize the video recorder and to change encoder which I have done tens of times. Wasted too much time on this so uninstall is imminent.

Great app with good functionality. Using this app on my old, Nexus5. Love that it records over old videos and allows for immediate bookmarking of incident videos. My only problem is that the flash turns on periodically by itself, very annoying for night driving. I'm still trying other cams and haven't decided on the final one for my use.

This app is good. Recording is good. But if I start it in background with Google maps then Google map is not working properly for location. It starts giving wrong information about maps. For me, while driving map is important than recording. Please look into this.

I very rarely give 5 stars as I'm fussy but this really is very well polished and runs better in terms of resource utilisation and thus device heating than similar apps. That and better featured than many non-free apps. Sincerely, thank you! :-)

On S2 i9100 this was really only stable on Stock Rom or JellyBean based Rom (eg. NeatRom) it was flawless even at 1080p. On KK /LP AOSP Roms, it had frequent crashes/freezes during recording (was unuseable) However, on latest CM12.1 nightlies it is functioning pretty well at 720p. Occasional, rare freezes. Working well on CM13.

Really like this app so far. My only gripe (and it's not specific to this app I don't think...haven't seen any of em do this) is that it can't use the rear (selfie) camera for either simultaneous rear recording or switch to it. Can't tell you how many times I've had a tailgater or other jackass driving behind me and I couldn't get footage of em. Is this a technical Android/camera limitation, or just no one's ever asked about a feature like that?

The inability to store files on tree sd card makes this app useless. I didn't even bother to try it to see how it works do I don't know. I do know that I do not need my phone space clogged up.

If your having crashing problems like I was don't enable video stabilization. I probably crashed my phone like 10 times going through the settings trying to figure it out, so yeah. Works fine. Just don't use video stabilization.

Recorded video and uploaded it to daily roads website but I am not able to see the video because it's only showing up a padlock. Got a generic fault about 5 times. Apart from that its a good app

Why spend lots of cash on a dash cam when u can turn your phone into one. Going to pay for pro version. My only issue is I can't change the save location of recordings to the sd card. Come up with invalid location error.

I use this for downhill skateboarding, and the speed readings are off, sometimes by -+5mph. What I'm most disappointed by is that the videos no longer show elevation, speed, nor location tag once exported to an external application, ie. Photos, though the settings are adjusted to allow "stamps on recorded videos" in Settings. If this changes, it's worth 5 stars.

Nearly got ran off the road by a truck, pressed the screen to protect the file, got home and the file was nowhere to be found. Only footage I had was before and after, total waste of time. Developer said "must have been a long time between videos"...no it was not. A Journey of 20 minutes. I pressed the screen 20 seconds after the incident to protect the video. What it seemed to do was delete all footage the was of interest. Camera was a Samsung S3 with no other apps running.

Awesome App! Spent too much on a GoPro cam and the stupid thing won't keep charged for the long trips I make. This app is better than the stupid dash cams that have to stay plugged in. I never should have wasted my money on a GoPro cam when this app works 10 times better!

It works and supports all the features I care about, but my main gripe is this app seems to destroy battery life. My phone's battery life can easily last an entire week on a single charge, but when this app is running in the background (NOT recording), I'm lucky to get 2 days out of it. It would also be nice to mute the app. It makes beeping sounds whenever it starts a new recording and there's no option to turn it off. The only sound it allows you to turn off is the warning when it will stop recording.

Needs time and date , speed, latitude etc burned into overlay video . Very good. On playback in portrait mode there's no map. Is it possible to load back and older previous version that worked better on my phone ?

This is an updated review to my previous 4 star review. Before my, phone would consume a lot of battery and I thought it was the app. It turns out it was the USB input jack in my car which is also a media device USB. So I used a different USB jack that I have on a multi-12v adapter and that fixed the issue. I can't find one thing wrong with this app, it even has multiple camera modes for sunny, cloudy, night, and city-night driving. As a delivery/UBER/lyft driver I say this app is a must.

I'm updating my review. I finally got it working for my phone. At first, my video recording shows only green and purple stripes. Had to deselect video stabilization and changed a couple of settings to make it work. Other than that, this is a nice app. I haven't actually test it out in my car yet but seems it will work. I'll update my review again after I test run it in the actual driving situation.

This app would be good if I was able to switch to my memory card. IT takes a lot of memory to operate and I don't have enough internal memory on my Galaxy phone. Fix this problem and I would give it 5 stars.

This apps is really working good. I bought dash cam in ebay last month, i used it only for two weeks then i got problem with the sensor, keep saying in the screen 'the sensor is not working. Guys try this apps it's good.

It's great when it works. However i had a couple of issues that the last record video is not replayable. I will change my review to 5 stars of this is resolved. Dev any idea?

After being a sole witness to a Hit&Run( just as eyewitness) I believed it's high time for a body cam when on foot. Was told of DRV. Using it on my old smartphone Samsung L300(yr:2012, OS:4.1.2 jellybean). This will be used in the interim till I can get a proper bodycam. Works fine.

since the very recent update the app no longer works. every time i hit record i get error messages saying either camera couldnt optimize or change resolution. i cant even select anything in the settings menu either. i knew i shouldnt have updated it since it was working so good before. i have the paid version, fix it please.

Awesome App tried several dash cams they either had limited features or record modes or terrible performance. This one did everything I needed and then some. Give it a try then consider buying the pro version :)

***Update*** Thanks to the great support from the developer! I've upped my rating. With the adjustments they suggested app now runs smoother. This app has a lot of settings so before you Uninstall it follow the suggestions in the ISSUES section or reach out to the developer for support. You just need patience and some knowledge to get it working. **previous review below** Samsung S7. GPS maps and easy to save videos. Glitches a lot though. Gets hung up if you rotate the phone and records video stretched sideways until you reboot the app. Randomly loses videos. I tapped to protect an accident but the app erased the accident and protected a different video.

It's a great app with lots of features, but I wish the recordings were seamless! Twice I've wanted to save a capture, only to realise the bit I wanted happened in the 1 or 2 second lag between recording clips. If this was solved it would be perfect!

Constantly crashing as I'm driving. No use if something was to happen and it needed to be recorded.

Since upgrading to a Samsung S7 edge a few days ago, app reboots my phone when trying to store video on either internal storage or SD card. Tried a different SD card and some thing, app gets extremely sluggish, freezes then phone reboots every time. Worked flawlessly on my Galaxy S4 but not on my new S7. I have to uninstall and find something else that doesn't reboot my phone. Sometimes, just pressing record reboots. Disappointing. Update: I disabled video stabilization and it appears to be working better. No reboots yet but I haven't used it out on the road yet. It was more stable sitting in the house. I'll try it on the road and see what happens.

Will not work with my Galaxy S3 at all. Video recording fails with every setting. I uninstalled and will find one that works.

The only thing I can record is a lot of colored lines. I tried all the settings that I can think of, nothing works. It's the same issue on my son's S7. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5.

Great free app. Not sure whether an option is there to start recording at a given time. Would gladly pay for it. Guys, this is seriously great stuff. Installed on old trusty SG2. Rocks!
