New Driver by Carrot Insurance

I've been driving for 25 years so I drove sons car to see if this black box is fair or not and it appears to be NOT I drove under the speed limit and very smoothly this resulted in his score going from a +10 straight into red and taking £67 of rewards.On another occasion I turned his ignition on to check his lights for him without even starting the engine again this dropped his driving score even though the car never even moved .the only advice I could give is just drive how you want

Gives inaccurate scores. Recieve a bad score for driving under the speed limit and recieve a good score for driving above it. Speed seems to be a random number generation, smoothness rarely changes but when it does it seems to always be -10 and usage makes no sense! Constantly getting +2.08 it never changes. Not a fan of the user interface either. Company support is shocking, wait times of above half an hour guaranteed.

Just stopped working all of a sudden can't log on so can't check my score. And before that it would give you a poor score for driving past 11pm even though there is no curfew. It would deplete your overall score for one bad journey by alot. Once you get a lowered score it takes at least 20-25 spot on journeys to get it back up even the slightest. It was bearable untill I couldn't log on.

I've had ups and downs with this app, had a perfect driving score of 10 for months and got a 0 on one of my drives today for some reason so now my overall average is -3.. Seems legit

Got my log in details after I'd had the black box installed. Never had a problem with the app. Black box scoring system isn't perfect but I found it to be fine, even in my last quarter of insurance while driving like a yob I still got a score of 7.5, most of the score I lost was from driving after 11pm anyway. The app does everything that it needs to.

1st year of the policy with this app was decent, yet 2nd year with the policy... my score only goes down everytime i speed or do something wrong, yet the score never goes up when my driving is 10/10. What muppets...

This app appears to be useless. I've got journeys of 12 hours with high negative scores.....the car was parked all day! It shows serious speeding whilst parked! This error had the effect of losing 20+% premium discount (approx £400) This needs to be investigated. Update. Now cost me several hundred £ in lost discount. This is getting worse, this app tells lies. It does not work. This could cost users thousands of pounds and discredits their driving abilities.

Awful company I would not recommend them to anyone they are constantly giving out wrong scores even if you go under the speed limit it will still say your speeding please go with someone else it will be worth it in the end

Automatically gives a weak score when you drive after 11 even though i have to drive from work after 11. Poor black box system.

Not too bad, does what it says it's meant to do. Handy to see how good my driving is, as well as how much I've earned in rewards, or on track too.

The car was driving when I was asleep. Amazing this company does not to pay rewards..

2 separate trips Tuesday and Wednesday at the exact same time and for the exact same duration yet one got a usage score of 10 the other got 2.82. Where is the logic? If it was a weekend and usage was so low it can be justified but middle of the week when people tend to travel to work?

Keeps on saying i can't connect. Been doing it with loads of people so sort it out.

Just stop working all of a suden been using for a year fine and now just sais there is no internet connection even tho im connected

Try to check my score but I was never given a username and password. Useless app and the insurance company is starting to look that way too

What a waste of time, says I can't log in, can't connect due to data even though I'm connected to Internet. Why haven't carrot sorted this problem when it's been a problem for a while now?!

Ok, so you need a user name and password to log in, slight problem... I never got a username or password. If it doesn't get fixed I'm just gonna switch insurance companies.

Doesn't work! How are we expected to keep an eye on our driving score when the app doesn't work/can't connect! Useless!!

Stopped working, won't update my trips, hasn't updated since the 1st

Very easy to lower your score but takes weeks to get it back up even a slight bit.

The app used to work and now it just tells me I don't have a data connection!

All I'm getting is an error message about my connection whenever I try to login. Will adjust review when fixed

No support for Galaxy S6 Edge. It's a new phone, and should be compatible. Update asap please.

This app is pretty good at telling you up to date information about how you drive, recently though it won't let me login saying that I don't have an active data connection when I do. App needs to be updated!

Tbh I was initially upset about the fact that they gonna always keep an eye on me and rate my driving. Over the time it really motivated me to drive well and safe. Also it pays me to be a good driver!!!
