D2L Binder for Android
It worked beautifully at first. One week into my course, it stopped uploading documents to read. "Processing" (and staying unusable for days) or "Oh no" (then deleting). I thought it would make my life simpler, without having to print off six 10-12 page articles per week... but instead, I spend my study time trying to figure this problem out. Almost ready to delete and share poor feedback with my fellow classmates. Horrible experience... and now I'm angry. Please fix... ASAP! Definitely HAD potential.
Just starting on D2L Binder and I like it So far so good
Beautiful. Easy. What more do you want?
Amazing Easier for the student who wants everything on their moibile phone
Nice
The app is good, but it took me a while to figure out how to show documents: 1. Enable Android's auto rotate. 2. Open your downloaded folder. There's an empty white list and the collection name appears only once. 3. Rotate the screen. The collection name should show twice now. 4. Rotate back. Repeat each time the title appears only once.
Broken App. Suddenly stopped displaying the content of my binder on both my Note 4 and Tab S2. Hasn't worked since. Clearing data/reinstalling hasn't helped. Online support seems to be non existant.
Either slow or nonfunctional. Couldnt access synced files, although folders are shown. Web version working fine though!
It's a good concept, but if your not ITish then good luck with it. Should have stuck with the KISS format folks.
Need to rotate device to bypass glitch. Once you rotate your device, your collections will populate.
App doesn't work. It won't load any new content, or display any content online or offline. Renders the app useless.
But how do you download things
I would give this 5 Stars if you would make the app where we can do searches 4 keywords in the documents
Needs features like due dates and tasks. Update: 4 months later and still no change. Assuming app has been abandoned.
I have a galaxy s5. Downloaded it, and found that when I open to view documents it is just blank.
Does not load any saved documents, with or without online access.
Couldn't use on my new phone or tablet. Can't use without Internet.
It works so far... if you're online. But there is no way to get your files when offline. Dissapointed because it was advertised as being able to use offline! :(
I attempted to load my course content into the collections, and could only receive the assignment "Learning Goals". Cannot access actual course content or assignments through the app, and must export from website to view.
I have done as told to do so via app and there is no option for highlighting text. I need this fixed as soon as possible and I will rate 5 star.
The apps is great of getting your reading organized in one place. However I can't seem to highlight. In the tutorial it says to long hold on the word to start, however add notes keep appearing. I'm trying to study for an exam and it would have been great to highlight as I read then it's easier for me to retrieve what's important than re-read again.Add highlight in the same tab as ading annotations. I first download the app on my Nexus Tablet and it worked, but not on my HTC M8. Plz fix.
1. Only 2GB storage space. 2. Won't connect with D2L for some reason. 3. Layout is too simple/there's no "help" for new users. 4.can't submit work from here. 5. I can only connect to Facebook (pointless) 6. Can only see past events, not current assignments. Everything is manual. Can't even sync to D2L. And you can't delete your account. I can't believe I wasted time downloading this and trying to figure things out. Might as well log onto D2L directly to get things done. #pointless
I am actually pretty impressed. It is easy to send documents to the app from my school website. It is also very easy to send documents to the app from other apps, such as Google Drive. Once they are on the app, the documents are easy to organize. Highlighting and making notes are easy as well, (I wish you could change the colors of the notes like you can with the highlights, though). Overall, it is a simple and easy to use app. It works nicely on my tablet.
After Android update it crashes when I want to download documents. Highlighting is not possible still. I will uninstall soon.
I haven't been able to use it since I downloaded it because I cant get past the sign up screen.... if fixed I will actually review it.
It was good until yesterday and today. It will not open, every time I try to open it it just force closes
At first it worked well, but now it does not open and crashes when opening. Useless app if it can not open constantly. So, I am uninstalling and by the way I am using a Galaxy S5.
Needs features like due dates and tasks. Update: 4 months later and still no change. Assuming app has been abandoned.
Not enough content (only documents, not discussions & other text) from my courses are able to be sent to Binder. On top of that, the hyperlinks (including embedded videos) in the limited content that can be sent to Binder are dead in Binder making this app virtually useless for me at this point.
Would love to be able to add hand writen notes for things like math workings and diagrams and the highlight option isn't working.
Not a bad little app. Purpose built for the D2l platform. I will have to get my students to try it out on their smart phones.
I used to use the binder app on my iPad. Worked well, even without WiFi connection but this time, I'm using the app with my android app on my smart phone, First few days were fine and could use it without WiFi but all of the sudden, I can't use it without WiFi connection. The app description says, it works without WiFi. So I hope it works again...
I'm an instructor and I'd prefer to highlight the material for my lecture. When I long press on a word as instructed in the tutorial, only a note form comes up, I'd like to highlight, it won't let me. Fix this and get a better rating.
Binder used to work perfectly for me, but now when I try to open the app, it says 'Unfortunately, Binder has stopped.' What is up with that? Please advise.
Easy to bind/organise files, but would give it full 5 Stars if you could send/share the files once organized via email
App is useful for textbook style note taking where you highlight sentences and add your own notes that are minimized until selected, HOWEVER for class lecture style notes it is wanting for drawing and stylus support. The images promoting this app online show hand written notes over the top of the document.... maybe this is in the iOS version and not the Android version? If anyone has figured out how to write (not type) notes on the documents, please share! Thanks!
Can't get it to highlight or annotate anything - doesn't even show me a menu bar for this. Pretty useless app without this feature. Running Android 6.0.1 on both phone and tablet and it doesn't work on either. The support page doesn't work and there is no email address for support. Altogether disappointing in the extreme!
I downloaded it, created my account and linked it to my D2L and it works amazingly. I don't know why this is on ly 3.4 stars. This should be up in the 4-5 star range.
I have to re-install the app and basically re-upload all the files from brightspace because it keeps crashing.

I work in a place that uses IPads and I have an Android. Switching back from both of them is easy but I really like the features they have on the IPad that they dont on here. If you only add the type on screen and type on notes here as they do on there this would be a 5 star App
