Easily toggle your Wi-Fi hotspot with this widget. Works on Android™ 6.0 (Marshmallow), Android 5.0/5.1 (Lollipop) and most devices from Android 2.2 upwards. Please contact me if your device is not supported and I'll try to add support as soon as possible.
Important: This app requires root. Use at your own risk. If you don't know what "root" is, then don't install this app. It won't work without root!

Installation
Please add the widget or shortcut to your home screen via your launcher.
Use a Locale/Tasker compatible automation tool to create tasks which use this app's plugin.
Please note: The widget is passive. Thus, it has to request root every time it is refreshed. Although the battery impact is negligible, this usually results in frequent (Toast) messages indicating that the app was granted root rights. Please refer to your superuser management app if you'd like to disable those messages specifically for this app.
Requirements
On Android 5.0 and later when SELinux is set to enforcing: a superuser app with support for a SELinux context parameter (-cn). Currently, only SuperSU supports this parameter.

On rooted Nexus 5x with latest version of Marshmallow, the app works exactly as expected. The UI is fine, not sure what the other reviewer is complaining about.

This app works beautifully with tasker. No matter what I tried I could not get hotspot to do anything. It still frustrates me that I don't know the solution, but I'll live I guess. I use this with tasker and appradio unchaned on my n6 to cast to my car stereo head unit.

Works great with llama on lollipop with run shortcut.

This is the only wi-fi hotspot toggler I could find that worked on Lollipop. I tried quite a few apps and widgets before this and none of them worked. I use this app along with Llama to turn on my phone's wifi hotspot when my phone connects to my Android car radio via Bluetooth. When I start my car, the radio connects to my phone via BT, Llama sees that and runs this hotspot toggle, and my Android car stereo auto connects to the hotspot so I have data without having to do anything. I am using on a Nexus 6 running 5.1.1.

Awsome! Spent hours trying to find something that works with tasker on my T-mobile S6 (which does the provisioning check before starting the hotspot). This works very well.
