Turn off the screen backlight without switching off the screen! Perfect for listening to music videos.
Most video players stop playback when the screen is turned off. This app switches only the screen backlight off but not the complete screen. Save battery and enjoy playback without the backlight staying on!
To turn the backlight on again, simply touch the display.
Important: This app requires root. Use at your own risk. If you don't know what "root" is, then don't install this app. It won't work without root!

When I first installed it I couldn't get it to work with a program I needed it to work with. I emailed the developer and we had it working very quickly. He even updated the app so no one else will have that problem. I use it on jellybean and lollipop

Nexus 5 on lollipop. All it does is put up the overlay and block all touch input until I deactivate it. Other users seemed to have positive experiences with this app, so it may be a relatively be bug. Refunding for now until it's fixed maybe.

Quite outdated but does exactly what expected and it does it perfectly. A needed feature it's a sub-app that turns off the backlight on launch, usefully for NFC app launching commands.
