LifeCubby Family for Android
I love being able to see my child's day and communicate with my child's teachers. I can view pictures, see events, and message them when I need to let them know of anything.
The app is pretty useful, but I've been having two annoyances with it: 1) If I open the app when it is already running in the background (i.e. it shows up on the recent apps list), more often than not I get a "server response error." The only way to fix it is to force stop and reopen the app. 2) When I relaunch the app to get around the server response error, it resizes my phone's background image for some reason. The only way to fix it is to again force stop and reopen the app, then it puts my background back to normal. So I've ended up with this convoluted dance of closing and reopening the app to get things to work properly, but once I get through all that, everything is fine. I can actually find things much easier in the app than the LifeCubby website.
6/23 update...post app update it now crashes immediately with the server response error EVERY single time I open it. Nice update. I'm using a Nexus 5X Android 7.1.1 STILL crashing every single time I open it forcing a restart. Plus the new fun bug where it flips it's orientation on my screen three times before settling in when opened. Just an awful release. UPDATE: latest update seems to be a big step backwards. Now instead of the app crashing every time it sits idle, the daily sheets take FOREVER to open. I'm talking about over a minute of the little processing animation. That's if it even opens at all. Do you test this before release? Or you only care about the iphone version. We've gone from frustrating use to unusable.
Great APP for communication with our childcare center! Easy to use and when I had an issue, customer service was great!
I added the application but I couldn't log in on
Prefer free
I love how I have access to my childs day right at my finger tips! I can track my 4 month olds feeds, my toddlers naps and the activities both enjoy through the photos posted. My daughter loves to see her photos too! The app is a user friendly way to stay connected to your children even when you can't physically be with them.
As a teacher using lifecubby I love the instant communication with the parents. Parents have expressed how they love this communication through lifecubby and are able to have information on their child at their fingertips. Taking photos in lifecubby of the children working on their assessment goals is a huge time saver. The parents get these photos instantly. They love viewing what their child is working on and how their day is too.
As a parent I really love this app! My child's daycare has been using it for a few months now and it's great getting pictures and daily reports
Terrible. Keep receiving server processing errors. I tried uninstalling, rebooting then reinstalling the app. Still getting the same errors.
Much better and looks nice!
Needs push notifications!!! Also the daily sheet needs a refresh button! I shouldn't have to close then reopen it everytime.
I havent been able to view videos since the last update.
I have an Android and use this app regularly to view assessments, pics, menus, and messages, and I never experience timeout or server issues. I love the fact that I can quickly send a quick message that the teachers receive instantly.
Edit: I am a user, a parent and SW engineer. This app should really be in beta release, not in production. There is now a timeout error that forces me killing the app every time I want to access it a second time. On the good side, the app notification works. On the bad side is that this only work for Observations which is only one of many sections! Still the app lacks of a fundamental news feed where u can see a log of everything that has been posted to your children's account. 12/7: Error is still there.
UPDATE #2 12/6: I'm still receiving the server response error after the developer's response below. This was their second attempt to fix it. There are big issues with this app. It times out once or twice each day and I get "alert!! Server response error." I have to go into system settings, force stop, and reopen. This resets the connection. This is not device specific, as it happens on my wife's phone too. It's hard to rate the quality of an app that has basic programming issues. I don't use it but I hope the developers fix it, because it's a nice idea.

It's amazing that as a parent, we can get pictures, check ins and check outs, menus and peace of mind in one place. Love lifecubby. My poor coworkers have no way of seeing what their children are doing throughout the day. I couldn't imagine any other way.
My child's daycare centre uploads videos sometimes and for me they've never worked on any version of the Android app (they work on web browser on our home computer). Otherwise I enjoy the format.
Installed this after putting my 3 year old into school. My wife has the iOS version and is able to see much more info. For instance, she can click on Menus and see the individual menus for each day. Those icons missing in my Android app. I could be doing something wrong but wouldn't know it cause there are no instructions whatsoever.
Must close and restart app to restore connection, constantly. Videos do not work, must go to PC. Series of pages/tabs unnecessary. Love that it keeps me connected with our child, could be much improved especially given that the school pays for the functionality.
Everytime when I attempt to open the app there is always a server error. Even if I didn't open the app or restart the phone there is always a server error. Love the idea of the app.
Downloaded this ago 2 days ago as my child's daycare just started using the program and have yet to be able to actually open the app after trying numerous times.
A great way to keep track of our kids at day care without cluttering my email with useless messages.
I can see updates throughout the day. I can see pictures, nap time, lunch and lesson plans. I check it at least once a day
Force crashes on Galaxy Note 5
I like the new app! The layout is streamlined and easy to navigate.
Love it
Love the ability to see what my kids are up to all day, however it could be more user-friendly. the new interface is much improved, but still needs work. my biggest issue is the lack of app alerts. the LifeCubby App needs the ability to get alerts from the app (like i get from every other app) on the smartphone instead of sending to an email address. i often miss updates because i wasn't checking my email. isn't the point of an app to have an app, not a bunch of emails???
The old version was clunky but functional. This new Version is more user friendly and fluid. Good job!
Much better than the old version
I loved the app when I had my moto x. Ever since upgrading to the Moto Pure with Android 6.0 I haven't gotten the app to open. I've uninstalled, restarted, and reinstalled to bo avail. My son's daycare makes great use of the app, however I can't get it to work!! And I can't check him in on the website the way they need me to. Please send a patch or fix!!!
My daycare used this app for about 2 weeks and it was great when it worked, to be able to check on my kids while at work was awesome. But it was so difficult for them to use and it hardly work that they decided not to use it anymore.
This app is terribly slow and quite ugly. But it works and I don't have a choice if I want access, so I guess there isn't an incentive to make it better.
App is a confusing and ugly mess, much like the website but at least the website is usable. UI design reminds me of the days of Eclair's ugly unintuitive UI and we're 8 versions beyond that :/
Other than the slowness on first launch I'm not having any of the other issues people are complaining about. Every is laid out well and works.
I don't know how to add my son profile pic and it's confusing and frustrating.
The first time I open the app for the day the screen turns black and I havr to force close it. Then the second time it takes a long time to load. Just having so many issues trying to open the app is very frustrating!
This app refuses to work on my HTC m one 9. I click on the app and it forces closed every single time. I have reinstalled several times

I had to request to change my password, because I forgot it when I got a new phone. They sent me an email with my username and a new password in plain text. Really? As a software engineer, this greatly concerns me that this is how they deal with passwords. Are passwords even being encrypted in whatever database is being used to store them? Word of advice to all who use this app, do not use a password you use for any other service, such as banking, social media, email, etc. I never thought the quality of this app was on par with most "professional" apps, but this just proves it!
