About Stargazing Log

Stargazing Log is the best way to track all of your astronomical observations! Enter your Telescopes, Eyepieces, and other astronomy equipment into the Equipment Manager, and log all of the sightings that you make. The application can save the date, object type, object name, notes, and equipment that was used when making the observation.

Browse your previous sightings by the most recent, by date, or by object. You can also view statistics of your astronomical views.

Includes a Night Mode and an Astronomer's Flashlight that shines red, to save your night vision.

Capable of backing up the database to the SD card, along with exporting the data to a CSV file.

Saves wrong EP in viewing log & doesn't even save telescope used or accessories. I clearly check 2" 68° 30mm & app saves 1.25" 9mm instead. Fix bugs for 5 stars. Would have given 1 star but at least someone attempted a star log app. Extra star for effort.

To many ways for fat fingers to bring up a white screen/ brouser page or a keyboard. As u know white isnt your friend when u want night vision. Make a normal/red toggel that actally make all red move the add. Nice but I dont want to see any white im sure others dont either.other than that its very nice and would get a 5/5

A great little app, very easy to use and most importantly it's quick to log sightings. It does need an update in regards to NGC observations. It doesn't update the quick stats when an NGC object has been logged (for instance last night I logged NGC 6207), currently I show 0 in quick stats for NGC sightings, yet my log has dozens recorded properly. Also all Messier objects have NGC designations and the NGC stats should be linked and automatically updated if a Messier object is logged.

This is a good useful and promising app for logging observations. The design is good and the weaknesses are minor or fixable. Setting up equipment is easy as is entering observations. Site, seeing and transparency would be easy additions. I'd like to see a button for entering new obs's when viewing those already logged. Adding bright stars and double stars to the object selections would be good, too. The one issue I'm having is that it's inconsistent in detecting when my Droid 4 is in landscape mode when the keyboard is opened. This could be a lack of landscape mode on some screens. The opening screen and several others are portrait only, but log entry allows both orientations.

Great idea I would love to be able to use this app whilst observing at the East Lincolnshire astronomy club's meetings and would like to be able to recommend this to other members, problem is that the keypad comes up white not great when you're in the middle of a pitch black field. Im sure it wouldn't take long before you got shouted at for using white light. Please fix this.

Cool with voice to text. One button access to all equipment. Logs time/location automatically. Needs buttons for seeing conditions/darkness.

Few items are not logged even after selecting and confirming if that option is checked or not.. exporting csv dont contains main columns....

Very basic. Also needs to be able to upload your sighting foto's /video's. All comments valid.

The stats section says ive seen 4 out of 8 planets, even though ive seen jupiter 3 times and mars once.

Night vision needs to be the whole screen and a button to lock it so I can't go to a bright screen at a dark location. I will be using for urban viewing only, till fixed.

This app is ok... Sad that it really is the best on the play store... A way to remove the adds would be keen... Switching to "night mode" only dimms the screen when it should change all the annoying white lettering to all red... Instead of just a bit here and there.

A basic star log Exporting is nice but it doesn't export your notes. Why does it crank up the brightness when you use this?

Very simple to use. Needs a Barlow and filter section. A drawing section would be nice.
