The app is mostly links to other resources (e.g., the maps on York's website). But it also claims to push emergency alerts but doesn't appear to. There was a shooting on campus last night but I definitely didn't get alerted. If people are supposed to count on this, it needs to be reliable.

In the wake of all these things happening at York, it's great that York stepped up and made this app so quickly.

There's nothing exceptional in here, but it does give access to things someone worried about security might be interested in. Most interesting are the options to contact security, particularly the ability to send photos to them. Can't tell whether security will actually be paying attention if we do send them things though.
