About CUFF

CUFF is a line of smart jewelry that gives you peace of mind. Simply press your CUFF to send an alert to your emergency network when you need help. CUFF also makes it easy for friends and family to reach you in an instant -- even when your phone is in your pocket or purse. More

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

With CUFF jewelry and the CUFF app, you can:
- SEND ALERTS: One press of your CUFF instantly notifies designated friends and family that you need help.
- STAY WITHIN REACH: Your CUFF will vibrate when someone really needs to reach you. You decide who and when they can “break-through”. Set your CUFF to automatically vibrate when you receive a text or phone call from someone important.

Don’t have CUFF jewelry? The CUFF app works for you, too.
- TAKE ACTION: If you receive an alert, open the CUFF app to see your friend’s location and coordinate with other responders to deliver help.
- SEND A BUZZ: “Buzz” your friend’s CUFF to let them know you really need to reach them.

The CUFF line of jewelry comes in a variety of styles from a leather band and sports bracelet to a necklace and key chain. Swap your CUFF between jewelry to fit the occasion or mood.

Heard they went out of bizz but i got it from target. I love the black cuff and wear it for work since i patrol. Security can get into some tight spots. I hope they come back into bizz and get this going again cause id love more of this stuff for safety. Even for my son as he grows.

Update: to me, it feels broken beyond belief. I really wish I hadn't bought it. A very clunky app and a very patchy experience. It doesn't feel production-ready and thoroughly tested.

Cuff shutdown their business. App doesn't work neither does device. Big waste of money & wishful thinking. Someone come up with a 3rd party app so I can use this device still

App does work. Zero customer support. Scammed our company out of 30 of these. Only buy if you like using them for paper weights. Filed a complaint to the BBB

So far, it's a very clunky app and a very patchy experience. It doesn't feel production-ready and thoroughly tested: * Since CUFF seems to connect accounts only via (a US-based) phone number, you need to reconnect the CUFF whenever you switch your SIM card and get a new number - otherwise buzzing won't be received, even though the sender sees a "buzz sent" message. * We learned: You have to reboot the phone, otherwise it won't find the CUFF at all. * By logging out, and trying to reconnect the CUFF to the new account using a new number, CUFF started sending out an alert via the old account. It was stuck in a loop, and by pressing "cancel" it just sent out a new alert. Overall, I received a metric sh**ton of messages, depleting my prepaid phone credit. * Rebooting finally allowed us to finally cancel the alert. * Be aware: CUFF will try to get a lot of location updates and drain lots of battery. Overnight, it discharged 50% of a brand new onplus X. Switching the location service to only provide CUFF with coarse location information preserves a lot of battery * We haven't managed to reconnect the CUFF after losing connection ...

Love this concept, but the kinks really need to be worked out. I am not to sure I trust the system just yet. It's a bit frustrating. The software seems to have a lot of issues finding the cuff. My emergency contact person (who does not have a cuff) is required to have the app, but it keeps telling them it's setting up the cuff. Pretty clunky right now. I'd love to get more jewelry but not until this works properly.

What a piece of crap! The app has no information and the battery is crap!

I would not recommend this app..after we installed it we were not able to hook up with the product.. We finally returned it ..

K70%
by K####:

Unreliable. Interferes with other apps. Says it's connected when I'm nowhere near the cuff. Spotty connection when I'm in the same room as cuff. Sent an alert to my mom saying it was disconnected... When it wasn't... And she panicked.

by X####:

Waited over a year to get my CUFF, to have issues with connecting it to my phone. Customer Service is a joke. They supposedly shipped me a replacement 2 separate times that were "lost in the mail". Customer service won't even respond to me now. I filed a complaint with the BBB, they told me that the company does not exist at the address listed on their website. Also the email address for the CEO, Deepa Sood, is no longer active.

L70%

App is not reliable at all, very disappointing because the concept is great...if only it works properly.

T70%

Green lite not coming on drains my phone battery trying to reconnect...when both sitting side by side even. Hate having to remove and reinstall every time I want to use it.

Android users are more prone to purchase smart accessories. Please improve the app. The app is slow (I have a Note 5 with 5.1 Lollipop and hardly any memory used). The alp also doesn't have all the functionality of the iPhone application. And many times, the Cuff necklace will say it's disconnected in the app but connected functions still work and vice versa.

U70%
by U####:

Seems to work okay. But the firmware took forever to install. My emergency contacts have to download the app to get my buzzes and follow a link, I might be dead by then. The app seems clunky and outdated and doesn't save updates. I think it has a lot of potential though so I'm going to ride this out.

T70%
by T####:

My phone is telling me that my CUFF module needs to be updated, but there is no place to update in the app. Otherwise, I am pleased with the app, functions, accessories and the comfort it provides me.

Z70%
by Z####:

So update for most people having issues with your cuff device. After months of arguing with cuff about my device dying after only a few days even though it's supposed to last 6 months and not connecting to my phone I was informed by cuff finally that it does not work with Android phones. The device only works with Iphones and 2 Samsung phones. Pretty much they say if you have connection issues it's cause your phone is not compatible. Ask for your money back.

This app doesn't let me sign it at all. I guess I will return my bracelet for something else. So frustrating. And the customer service sucks. I have sent email after email and reported problems with the app but no one even responds.

T70%

Whenever I try to open the app, it shuts down before I can log in....there are huge problems with the app. I have sent reports numerous times with no response.

The idea was intriguing, the designs were clean, beautiful, & what they were promising seemed perfect. But all that glitters is not gold. ESPECIALLY their jewelry. 18K? Ha. How about 20% nickel and 80% COPPER? This app doesn't work at ALL. I want a refund.

T70%
by T####:

Lots of problems with pairing, buzzes and notifications do not arrive and buzz. Essentially useless at the moment. Will return it.

T70%

Update: 11/24/2015 My Cuff doesn't even have a green light now. I've contacted Cuff two times since initial call regarding problem. I still haven't heard from anyone. This app doesn't connect to my Cuff even when they are beside each other

X70%
by X####:

My phone has been on silent since getting my cuff. I'm able to rely on it to let me know when someone important is contacting me. There are still some connectivity issues that need to be worked out, but overall the product is wonderful and very easy to set up.

T70%
by T####:

I waited over 1 year and got the cuff connected after 4 hours of trying it disconnected and now the cuff won't respond. I have sent emails requesting support and no one has responded in 48 hours or now 144 hours if they would fix this and make good I would continue if not I am returning

A70%
by A####:

This is great in theory, but the application isn't so great. The CUFF frequently disconnects from the app. The app is hugely draining on my battery. Waiting to see if there's an app update before I return the CUFF for a refund.

T70%
by T####:

Right now I am very unhappy with this Cuff. It was promised in March and didn't receive until November. Every piece is hermetically sealed making it very difficult for people with a disability to even get the package open. Very frustrating. The black tile does not even fit into the necklace. And the worst part is, there are absolutely no instructions for assembly or how or what to do with it once you get the App installed on your phone. Totally annoyed with this product.

Had a little trouble getting my Oneplusone's Bluetooth to find CUFF at first. After a few tries, Oneplusone finally found CUFF, and they live together happily ever after! Would be nice to be able to clear old alerts on the home page, so I won't get heart attacks!

E70%
by E####:

When I bought the CUFF, they said it would work with my phone (DROID MAXX). It did not. There are no instructions with the bracelet, other than to go to the app. You have to find the instructions under Help (they don't tell you that). They said that they are releasing an update to the app, but I'm not waiting around to see if that works - there is only a 30-day window to return the thing, and I don't know if the 20 or so remaining days fits their definition of "SOON". And another minus - you have to pay for shipping AND insurance, since they are not responsible for lost packages, or, it seems, responsible advertising.

I have had the app since Pctober, and a little over a week ago, it stopped working. I have sent several trouble reports, to no avail. So now I just have an expensive piece of costume jewelry.

T70%

They do not give you good instructions on how to set it up, I mistakenly sent out a text message to everyone I know while trying to set this thing up!!! Needless to say that my day sucked after that!!
