SmartLock collects user's unlockscreen gesture the first time in use, and trains the device with those samples using touch boimetrics for later authentication. After the service is enabled, a similar gesture is required to unlock the device every time the screen is locked. Attackers have a small chance of learning your gesture even if the pattern is revealed.
By choosing the "collect sample" option in the menu bar, a user can easily collect gestures and train them. Authentication is based on how similar the gesture is, compared to the trained data, using machine learning algorithms. The "Restore Model" option enables users to create new gesture model.
