AutoHue (Tasker Plug-in) for Android
Excellent for controlling my Hue system with Tasker. One request would be to be able to fetch the "ct" variable (colour temperature for white Ambiance bulbs) from the state check function, but otherwise this + Tasker does everything the Hue app can't.
Works great. I'd love to be able to pass in Tasker variables though, for example a brightness setting. But until then, it's working as intended!
User friendly, works instantly, easy to setup. Its the kind of plugin you forget until you get a new phone and wonder why your stuff isn't working anymore.
I have many Hue lights spread across three bridges. This is the only solution I've found that enables me to manage all the bridges together. Essential for my setup.
Always just works. Would go 5 star if there was a toggle+brightness+color option, instead of toggle being alone, and power+color+brightness being their own
Can't adjust brightness or allow for custom json for lifx bulbs.
Being able to control my lights from my Samsung Gear S3 watch is awesome!
I use it with Automate and it works like a charm:-)
Could not get this to work on tasker.
Please add Osram Lightify. They are the only full color recessed bulb kit on the market. Thanks in advance
Excellent app, though I would like to see the ability to set the brightness or color to a Tasker variable.
Any instructions on how to use auto hue ?? Help please
Good app. Would be great if I could use existing scenes.
Works perfectly
Good work
In the plugin UI, it will show the hue state and all variables prefectly, but when run in a task, the app ALWAYS receives "null" or "undefined" for all variables when trying through a local WiFi network :/ It works when connecting remotely. I RALLY wish this feature would work properly...
Love being able to control my lights via Tasker. I remember a few niggles when setting up my tasks, but I can't remember what they were now.
My favorite use - purple and red flashing during and alarm, which once dismissed causes a 10 second transition to a cool wakeup color.
I am unable to set lights to a custom JSON string using a variable. I tried to back up the current configuration to a variable then restore it by setting the lights to that variable, but nothing happens.
Great app, easily my most used Tasker plugin! Had an initial issue which turned out to be my phone but the dev was very helpful and prompt. The app gives you everything you could want, love the custom JSON functionality!
Love automating stuff with tasker, auto hue just adds to it. Wish there was a way to add color to blinks...right now it just blinks white if I set it to that
I've tested as far as making my automation app run the plugin command, wait 5 secs, run again, wait 10 secs, run again, wait more, and run it again to no avail. As soon as I try to test the command from the plugin UI (or another app I use to control my Hue lights), it'll work with one try. Maybe the OS is killing the plugin process and it doesn't start itself when it's called by the automation app. Also, never returned "true" for "hue_on" variable in a task. Only returns true when plugin UI is open.
Great Plugin. Works really well with all my original LIFX's. Doesn't work with my Color-1000 though for some reason.
Make sure to take it off battery optimisation, otherwise it won't work when triggered in background.
When will Lifx brightness control be added? Similar to custom JSON? Thanks
Group support? Getting scenes from the bridge?
In the last couple of weeks this plugin has been hit and miss when it comes to working. Logging in tasker showed it kicks off to change the lights and plugin returns OK. Pressing play on an autohue action in tasker runs for a few mins and nothing happens. Editing the action and hitting test command works. UPDATE: its been working for the last week as expected. Back to 5 stars!
Would like option to control groups of lights. At least expose the light names field to the custom json string so we can send the group names ourselves... Thanks
Overall is good. Use blinking lights for incoming call and green solid light for received text.
Now the app works perfectly again! Great active developer!
It is possible to control hue from the internet if I port forward but this app doesn't accept alternative ports other than port 80
Crashing constantly
When setting up tasks, and for a while after it works perfectly. But after a longer period (2hr?) It doesn't seem to connect properly so state isn't retrieved and command/tasks aren't preformed. It starts working again immediately if I test a task.
Selecting individual lights on turns all on. Renders app useless.
Lot's of great potential with this, I'm hoping to see this app using the Hue account information as well so that remote control can be done as well.
Great stuff. I wish there was a way to pass variables to the Plugin though. I want to set brightness go a variable i set in tasker is this possible ?!
Does what is says on the tin. Provides various ways of controlling your Hue lights.
Good customization options, but it would be nice if it could detect the Hue hub automatically. My tasks stop working when ever there's a power outage or the hub is restarted. The LifX portion doesn't seem to work at all, even after copying in an API key from the website. It just gets stuck looking for bulbs. There's another Tasker LiFX plugin that doesn't require any logging in or copying API keys from websites, but it doesn't let me set transition times or more complicated features.
I had to reboot my router and I noticed the bridge IP changed. I opened auto hue and there is no setting to update to the new IP. I opened tasker and found it in my tasks but why doesn't it update on its own. So now I have to go into each individual task and update the IP... There should be an easier way to do this.

Almost never works. I trigger the tasks from my watch, but almost every time I have to open tasker, go to edit the task, and test the lights once for things to work. It stops working again after a while.
