Earthquake -American Red Cross for Android
Does not update data, says i do not have a wifi connection, to check it & try again, but i have both an active wifi connection as well as a data connection so WTH?! This issue has existed for over a year & i reported it last January with no response from the devs NOR ANY FIX TO THIS PROBLEM! Leaving broken/non-functional safety crAPPs up is BEYOND WRECKLESS AS IT ENDANGERS ANYONE WHO MISTAKENLY TRUSTS THE DEVS & THE CRAPP THAT SUPPOSEDLY PROVIDES EMERGENCY INFO BUT IN REALITY FAILS TO WORK AT ALL!
This app doesn't work at all on my Galaxy S6. I see an unspecified "There was an error" message on the alerts tab and "check your connection" on the locations tab every time I open it. This has happened for months. Unbreak please!
Doesn't show all earthquake warnings in the list. Fix it please
UPDATE: Once good, now horrible. Just indefensibly bad. Did you think you had an app that would warn you about recent earthquakes? Too late! They broke that! Instead, the latest version does... um... wait, what were we talking about? I remember when I thought the American Red Cross would die b/c Elizabeth Dole took over. It didn't, she did fine. This update, though: OMG, nightmare scenario.
App sucks, you take all this time adding people and selecting alerts and it wipes everything back out. Dont waste your time
Perfectly good app was updated and now no longer works
The old version used to give alerts within 5 mins of an earthquake. Often before local news stations gave reports. I used to go straight to this app to find out if we had just had an earthquake here in Southern California and not even bother to turn on my TV. Now the alerts are delayed up to an hour. No longer shows the actual time the earthquake occurred only the time it was posted on the app. Doesn't show the distance from me.
This new version is terrible. It used to be easy to view the alerts but not now. Had two 5.2 earthquakes yesterday and numerous aftershocks in the magnitude 3+ range but the only ones it shows are the original 5.2's. Please bring back the old version.
Yet another bizarre twist with this app, it doesn't seem to hold settings. Every time I open it, it asks me to configure. No matter how many times I "configure" this thing, it asks me to configure it again. Waste of space.
Used to love this app. Now all I get is error, check your internet connection, load failed, location not added, location not updated, etc. It's really too bad.
i live near the coast and the alert is received 13-15 minutes after, which leaves practically no time for evacuation.
For some unknown reason it decided to start resetting itself after every notification and deleting all the locations I was monitoring. After the third time resetting itself I force stopped it, cleared the cache, cleared the data and all is working fine, ....... for now.
I like to be able to choose certain areas to monitor, I like that option in thus app. I don't need to know about earthquakes in places I'm not interested. Great thanks.
Used to be a great app..now it does nothing. First it stopped notifying, then stopped loading alerts at all
I live near Upper Lake. Had no Alert from here stating the mag. Of the 5.1 we just had. I went on and tells me error from my WiFi. Ummmm i have both Data and WiFi
Would like to be alerted to smaller earthquakes. 3.2 earthquakes would be more to my preferences.
Like the app but the alerts are useless in an area with a lot of tremors.
Keep throwing errors, no Internet exc..
Failed to load alerts
Use to be good, when I could set it to only notify of large quake
America only
Great best
It is the best
Used to be great...but now I get NONSTOP ALERTS for every fart happening here in CA!! You got rid of the magnitude size option...and this thing wouldn't shut up for every shake here!!!
This app picks and chooses what eathquakes to notify me. I have it set for a specific magnitude and distance to alert me, but I don't get notified. There will then be a much smaller quake outside of my radius and I will get notified. LOTS of bugs still need to be worked out.
I would like to see the return of magnitude settings. Also, can you add a feature where users can assign a specific ringtone or sound for alerts.
Not getting any information on quakes that I know have happened no quakes showing up at all in any of my locations or filter range use to be,an excellent app
Lot of people complaining about not being able to adjust the magnitude, swipe to your locations and each city you are monitoring has its own little notification setting. Just select WHat city you want and you can adjust the magnitude settings under notification settings then tap on earthquake warnings to adjust the magnitude from there
Not sure what the purpose of an alert is when it doesn't show the magnitude of the earthquake. I've looked in a number of places on your app to see if there is a setting to make them show up, but can't find the setting anywhere. Please help... I'm afraid I'll have to find a new app to use otherwise. Also, I tried to leave you feedback via email per your app, but it bounced back. Way to go folks. *eyeroll
Bring back the ability to adjust the magnitude size for alerts. Thanks.
I liked it when it said how far it was from me. Now it never works. I know you say it does, but it doesn't. It says how far it is from the nearest town, but how far it is away from me.
Whatever you did with the "upgrade" ruined the app. I get an alert but the app says "All is well". Uninstalling.
Don't like the new version. Too complicated. Also just awakened by 3+ and its not on here! Doesn't even have the current date listed. I'm looking for another app - shame I have this one for a LONG time and will no longer recommend use.
SAVE your memory space
After i add locations it doesn't keep them due to an error. It says im not connected to Internet, even though i have a strong 4g signal...
It tells you when its going to happen
Can you please revert back the option to choose what size magnitude one wants for alerts. I don't want get woken up at 3 am just because there was a 4.0 magnitude earthquake that did nothing.
This app is easy to use and works great. Take the time to read all the directions and info the app gives you on how to use it. I was examining the Tool Kit and swiped on the strobe light, to set the settings how I want . That strobe light is very bright and flashes second by second . The flashlight / strobelight is also a great tool to use if you are walking in the evening to your car etc in an area that is not lighted well.
It is getting better but I am so sorry that it had to change so drastically. I am of the opinion "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I am now getting the alerts, would still like to set my own alert tone, In meetings it is a bit embarrassing. The map should have never changed. I cant see where it is All I see is 2 circles, one red and one green. There is no information about the quakes like depth and such. You hit the Read Full Alert and you get nothing. I dont think there is a need to show the 5 bullet points after each alert. This isn't what people are going to pull up when the ground starts shaking. Put all this info someplace else. People will read it and know its there. I realize you are working on it and maybe in a few months I will check back and try it again, but for me Its not useful any longer. I can pull up a seismograph online or the USGS and get the information sooner. Good luck and I hope when I try it again it will be bug free.

The ability to adjust the magnitude size for alerts is back BUT won't except size (ie. Set it 2.5 and get alerts below that) ALSO, sound notifications still play even though they are turned off. Thanks.
