Blood Donor for Android
I LOVE the app and it makes scheduling appointments a lot easier. The new update just totally ruined the reward center though. It won't even open without force closing the whole app. Once that's fixed - I'd definitely give it 5 stars!
I like the app for being able to access my donor card, make appointments and retain the location of my local Red Cross, reschedule or cancel appointments, check my donation history, and see my blood type. What I don't like is that every time I try to retrieve the rewards given to me, something goes wrong and the access to them disappears. The latest message: Update the app to claim your reward. I did and the rewards are gone.
I can't add my donor card id. I can't update the app at all. This app is useless. I don't want to email my information so they can ignore it. Awful app.
I think this apps represents an AWESOME group of people that want to help save lives. This app personally tells me a lot of knowledgeable information. Definitely recommend downloading if you're a blood donor
V1.4.5 crashes Loved the app until the upgrade to 1.4.5. Now it won't even launch! "Unfortunately Blood Donor has stopped" msg 100% of the time. Please fix.
The app makes it easy to schedule an appointment, and keep track of my donation history. You can also review how the Red Cross did with every visit. What's really cool is following your blood donation to its point of use by someone who needed it to save their life.
So I filled out all of my information but when I get to the donor ID part it always says error HELP??
It's okay but it never tracks your blood Journey will send you text messages what when you find out and go into the app and always says there's no Journey
Very easy to use. I always schedule my appts through the app, plus I can see my donation record. I just wish I could do the rapid pass through the app.
Easy to use, notifies you if your blood is used, cool selfie frames to share on social media, tracks vitals & number of pints donated.
Wow so much has improved in this app since the last time I used it back in 2014 thanks for the improvements
Buggy. Example "add to calendar" function places an Aug 14th appointment at Sept 14th in my goggle or outlook calendar.
Can't wait to use this for all my future donations. Nice set up and easy to use.
I found the app easy to use and it contains a lot of useful and interesting information!
Simple and straightforward. Also gives info on rewards for donating.
It's a great app I love it.
Easy to use , easy to schedule
Nice app.
Great!
Love the app! No need to have my donor card, and I can track how many donations I've had. Especially like that it tells where my blood is within the process, and where it ends up. Also like the team-building capacity and social media sharing built into it.
It's an ok app. It's awesome because it keeps track of all my donations and my iron levels and all that from each donation. It definitely makes donating easier. However, it's a hard app to navigate. There is also a problem where I have not received badges that I should have received. (I.e. bloodselfie, vampire, holiday gift, etc.) I hope I get the gallon one when I get there!
Love it! Giving blood is such a selfless gift that we can all give that SAVES LIVES...! I have made a promise to myself to make sure to donate ever 56 days..or whatever it is (something close to that).. for as long as I can. If I were in need, or any of my loved ones- I would hope there would be enough for us! My favorite part about the app is that we get to track our blood... & we get told when our blood has been transferred into someone else..to HELP SAVE A LIFE!,There is no good deed that makes me feel better than this does. & the APP is super cool, and very user friendly!
Overall easy to use. The details of donations is lacking as well as the journey feature that never works even if you schedule through the app. It would be nice to be able to get the questioning done through the app prior to arriving to speed up the process.
I wanted to donate blood today because I was eligible. It said there was a blood drive at my college campus at Shaw hall. When I got there they did not know about it. I checked the app and it said Ackers hall. So I went there and they did not know anything and the app was telling me it was at Shaw hall again. This app was worthless.
The app is moderately helpful, but it often tells me I have a reward to claim. The reward helps me get over the fear of needles. However, every time I go to claim my reward, it says it's already been redeemed.
Better than before, but still full of UI sins. Two levels of tabs are hard to navigate. Why is the "ME" tab under a tab that looks like a group? Eligibility dates are under "Donation History", not under "Am I eligible". But my donation history is not under "Donation History", it's elsewhere! Donations are measured is units, lives and gallons - three ways! I don't see the value of donation types in those units. Please kill gallons - platelet donors spend 2 hours with 2 needles in them to donate a small volume! "Optimize _your_ donation" tells me of women and type AB donors. I thought it should be about me, right? The scheduler teaches me which back button to use. How condescending! Why not just ask what the user wants? Descriptions for earned badges are unavailable, I cannot see or show others what I did to get them.
Need to merge Rapidpass with this app, honestly. Whatever knot you have with the legality of using an app for personal info, or the dev side of apps, you need it untied. There shouldn't be a half-attempt at helping donors getting the info in for you to help others.
I love this app and i love donating. I just wish my donation history and personal things would come back. I havent been able to see any of that since i redownloaded the app and i put in my card and everything :/
Well the Manage Appointment missed the schedual next appointment. If I am dominating today and attempt to schedual next appointment will only present today's appointment. I have mentioned this so I guess scheduling new appointments is a priority.
I really like this app and the fact that I can move it to my sdcard to free up space on my phone is a definite plus, however, I recently noticed that after an update to the app it defaulted back to storage on my phone. Can you please fix that? I hate having to keep moving it back.
Useless app. It makes no sense that the pre-donation form can be filled only on a computer and not on the phone or app which is a super computer . Last time I checked, most people don't bring their PC with them to the blood drive.
The scheduling problems were mostly fixed so that smart scheduling works now. But now all of my notifications occur a day early, and are even entered into my calendar on the wrong day.
My son donated blood and received his donor card. Tried to set up his account on this app but it says he isn't old enough to donate. This app was not thought out well.
I'm 16 and I put my date of birth in and it says oh no you must be 17 to donate. But then another thing says in dome states you can donate at 16 with parental consent. Obviously I donated so im in one of those states, but it still won't let me log in.
The app is functional, but does not list every donation location. I found more via the Red Cross website than I did with the app. That said, the Blood Journey feature is pretty neat.
It's a great app but it is missing only one thing. It needs a link to the "Save Time" feature of your website that allows a donor to complete the questionaire via the app. - Good work though.
I think the coolest part of donating, is seeing where your blood ends up and knowing you may have just helped save someone's life. But mostly... it's the right thing to do.
Doesn't let me create an account, tried four different email addresses and usernames. What a waste of my time.
Appointment scheduling appears to work well, unless you're just donated and are trying to schedule out to another appointment. It won't let you schedule an appointment well in advance, you have to be eligible to even set up an appointment! I would love to be able to do this so I don't have to remember to set something up once I'm eligible--I'm a planner, what can I say. A notice that I will be eligible as of such and such a date would be very helpful. Log in worked fine once I got my password correct ;-)

This is literally the dumbest app ever. You can't link anything, there is an error code to every single piece of information you try to put in, and you cannot add your Donor ID later on. Seriously a waste of time.
