CTEK Battery Sense

After the update new features like battery temperature and voltage seem to be showing OK! But everytime I try to check battery capacity by percentage it only shows 100 % . Even long time with Webasto preheater it only shows 100 %. Before update it showed around 61 - 100 % depending on the preheat time. Please fix the issue!

The last version worked flawlessly, this version hasn't displayed less than 98% and my fridge has been running for 2 days now down to 12.5 volts. Hopefully a new version fixes this quickly. My friend alerted me to this problem so I checked mine, glad I found out before my next camping trip else it could have ended in tears.

Bought one sensor for the car and the App worked great. Bought another sensor for the camper and that's where it all went wrong. The new sensor would not sync with my phone, i deleted the app and all data. Reinstalled and now neither of them will sync. Very disappointing. Please fix the bugs. phone has latest software 5.1.1

Absolutely crap. Decides when it wants to work and when it doesn't. % works every now and then. Most of the time just stays on 100%. Voltage and temperature wont update a lot of the time. Surprised Ctek have put their name on this frustratingly bad app.

Some good additions with the temp and voltage which seem accurate. The SOC is not working. Shows 100% most of the time even when the voltage drops to 12v after having an engel fridge connected for a couple of days.

If I could give this negative stars I would. I am able to detect the unit with my phone but it just says connecting forever. I have spoken to Bainbridge technologies who are the CTEK distributor in Australia and they informed me that this is a well known and widespread issue. CTEK have not got plans to fix it any time soon. DO NOT BUY A CTEK BATTERY SENSE AND IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AND ARE HAVING ISSUES RETURN IT FOR A REFUND

It doesn't stop running. Sends my phone flat and not easy to stop the app. Can only stop it through the app settings

Great concept, works on my wife's Motor G4 plus, Samsung s7 but not on my Xperia z3 which is needed. All phones have android 6.0.1. When using Samsung and moto g the battery shows as 100% however my ctek battery charger shows a lot less. Inaccurate, doesn't connect to primary phone = pointless waste of cash....

Since this update my battery has never read less than 100% even though an Engel Fridge has been running of it and the voltage varies from 13 to 12.2.The previous version showed the battery going down to ~60% overnight but now always 100%

The new update has some great features, the temp sensor for one. The graphs have changed but possibly due to the calculation of actual battery capacity. The ability to zoom the graph is great. Keep up the good work and development.

New version shows 100% all the time now but there is few instances when it dropped suddenly to low voltage. The review seems to have been reported by others. I am on One Plus 3

Well Sense was not syncing with my phone so I emailed them. A Mr. Zeal responded back by asking for my phone type, Android version and app version. I gave him that information and no response back. Over a week now and multiple emails and I'm being ignored which really pisses me off because I purchased 2 CTEK MUS 4.3 Test and Chargers and 2 CTEK Sense. I even returned one Sense as I thought it was defective because it would not sync with my phone. I received my new one and having the same issue. After reading the reviews someone stated that it doesn't work with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which is the phone that I have and is probably the reason I am being ignored because after I gave them that information their emails stopped. So let's get going CTEK Samsung is a popular brand, now let's rectify the situation and stop ignoring your customers!!!!

The Bluetooth loses connection all the time and I have to keep reinstalling the Bluetooth connection. I thik thiis has been a very bad buy from a company that is normally reputable

Since last update my app is stuck at 100% until i get notification that that battery is low.

UPDATE: So glad its working again since the last update. Welcome the additions to Voltage, Temperature and the "advanced SOC calculation now considers the battery size" . 4 stars, cos I wish I can set to background update, alert me on battery status changes without the annoying update services is running and the icon showing up. Can't disable it from app notification either, cos it will disable the notification as well.

I actually found this app and device very useful. Works great with my Samsung S6. It gives me accurate info on the condition of my camper trailer battery. As soon as I walk in my shed and open the app it gives me instant information on battery charge and voltage and whether it needs to be charged or not.

Voltage on 11.8V how can the battery still be on 100% capacity? Running tests with 12V Waeco cf-50. On for 2 days now

Doesn't work on Galaxy Note 4. Works with my old Galaxy S5, but that's no good to me. Will be returning if cannot work with Note 4.

Why does your app need access to my location, my contacts etc etc. It is a BATTERY MONITORING App !!! If I had known before hand I would not have bought this. So wrong .... Update 2/12/16 So now i have a new problem. The App is stuck continually trying to update and I can't get rid of the icon or msg. Please sort these issues out.

Wont connect at all with my Sony Xperia z5....yet it worked fine on an old tablet

Almost perfect for me. Would like the manually input maximum of 200ah to be increased because 2 batteries in caravan likely to be more than 200ah.

Works on my iPhone but not on my Xperia z5! Can you do something to make this work on xperia z5?

What a useless product. I rang the Australian rep and he told what to do get it all working again. All to no avail. Useless product. I believe the needs a lot of work to get it right. Voltage being displayed instead of percentage and amps being charged or discharged should also be very achievable. Not a good product!! What still no response from ctek after over 5 attempts. And this message sitting for all to see for over 1 week. Poor form ctek. Not a happy customer!!!!

This would have to be CTEK's worst product ever.. It's simply does not monitor the battery, but only takes a single measurement as returns it as a percentage.. An App showing a percentage, and nothing else, like voltage is simply rubbish. Very disappointed.

I think it is time CTEK took responsibility. Don't just post a generic answer about how u have contacted Samsung blah blah blah. How can a company of your size really release something so shockingly broken and to a point where consumers are just wasting money. Bit like your 250SDUAL chargers, we're good, but now just junk.

I have recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. I have several Ctek Battery Sense units fitted to various vehicles. They are now rendered completely useless because your app is not compatibly with one of the largest selling phones ever sold. Telling us that you have advised Samsung of the problem just isn't enough. When is this problem going to be fixed? Ctek's response will not fix the problem unless my phone is upgraded to Android 7 or 7.0.1 (which hasn't been released yet). I am left with an expensive product which is totally useless with my new phone.

This is ok if you want to know if your battery is fully charged. That is about all. I have a bmv700 setup on 2x 120ah batteries. When it reads i have 95%, this app thinks i have 60%. If it had a % and a voltage side by side we might have a better idea on whats going on. For eg. Might read 95% but voltage is at 12.2 so you would assume some fridges and lights are on etc. If it reads 12.6v and 50% then we would know the battery sense is a load of crap. This might have something to do with it?

On both Android 5 and 6, it takes many attempts to update the battery levels. No other BT devices seem to have the same problem. Samsung S6 6.0.1 Would be nice to show EITHER SOC (%) or actual voltage.

This wont work with any of the above handsets. Are there any handsets that people use that work. The most popular handset brand is samsung. Does not work. The problem is more to do with Android. But saying its a chip problem thats unique to Samsung . Its not. I had a nite 8.0 connected. Then you updated the app. Now it wont work. Please please at least warn customers from purchasing this if they are using an android phone. Works fine with ios. I think trading standards need to be informed.

This is flaky software on an HTC phone. It's slow to update when it does work. Being aware that there's a problem doesn't mitigate that you have taken money sufficient to justify a premium grade product and delivered a poor one. Should be proved working before pushing it on the market. Hopefully the technology you are relying on will mature before your product goes wrong, so I can get some benefit for my investment. Edit to add. V1.2a has the graph dates mixed up. Still not fixed so lose a star.

It connected on my S7 (after a firmware update) but battery level doesn't update in "real time" as described. You can't manually push for the unit to resend battery percentage either. This should be a feature so if you change batteries you can get an immediate update. There's a somewhat useless option to attach a photo but doesn't even work. Very dissapointed. Poor Value

Initally thought were great, connected first time on both cars, now however even though app tries to connect, there is no update, worst thing is I've spent $150 on two senders for my two cars, senders will only connect if bonnets on the cars are open, which is not practical.

Works great for me. I have the edge plus but if I have a issue I just take the in-line fuse out of the device and works great only had to do it like 3 times out of the year I owned it

I have bought 3 of these for all of my batteries, they dont work at all. Ctek.. time to recall this product as this is just a scam.. shame on you ctek
