Splits - Shot Timer for Android
Just downloaded this app and it clearly does what it's intended for. After I tinkered with the settings it was picking up dry fire even with the dishwasher in the background. Easy to use and seems to be pretty accurate. Can't wait to test it with live fire.
The only real shot timer out there in the app world. Almost dead on with my actual shot timer. Or maybe better...
Works great. Developer is active and very responsive.
This is the first shot timer app that works 100% for me and I have tried them all. It works with my guns and Airsoft perfectly and I didn't even have to make any adjustments. I like this one so much that I bought it and I never buy apps.
Works great!
Downloaded it at the range for the Jr Rifle kids club. We were training for the steel challenge. Opened it Pressed start. Worked as well as the $100 shot timer two shooting points away. Tried two other apps before this one and couldn't get them to function well. Thank you
Very accurate even in indoor range, working fine on both .22LR and 9mm. Btw, an auto-save option would be fantastic
very accurate
Tested this app side by side an industry standard shot timer and readings were either identical or, on a few occasions, within 100th of a second. Great app!
1st shot time artificially shortened because timer starts at 0 after beep is complete. Tested three different apps. Edit: After further testing and viewing multiple .csv files produced, I revise my original review and conclude that this app is the most accurate available. Thanks!
When it works, it works great. A couple of times it froze my phone where I had to physically remove the battery to recover. Don't know if that was due to a conflict with other apps running or not but, for the most part, it does work well.
Good app. You should fix the spelling of Virginia in your update log though. I'm sure the Virginian's could get butt hurt by being referenced as vergina... :-P
Great UI. I downloaded this app while at the range today and was using it within minutes (although I wish I had noticed the save button earlier). It only missed two shots out of 100.
This is the best shot timer app I could find. In my opinion better than the what you would buy at store. Has adjustable / random delay, ability to save & compare, hit counter, live or dry fire & much more. Plus creator seems to constantly monitor feedback to improve app.
Great app so far. Especially considering cost of real shot timer. Would like to at least see a random delay start option. Unless I'm missing something.
I know this isn't designed for it but preliminary tests seems to indicate that I can use this app with snap caps! If I set the sensitivity and echo all the way left the first "shot" is my draw from the holster and the second is my actual shot.
Great timer! Tons of features and I appreciate the frequent updates. My only request: Android Wear support. I'd love to be able to start the timer or even use the microphone from my watch.
A great and simple app to use to have a little friendly competition or see your stage time.
The app itself works pretty well. However I feel the UI needs to be updated. Moreover, the screen size is not optimized for the Galaxy S8. I'm a paid user and look forward to more updates. This is still best shot timer on app store. 5 stars when app design is updated to fully utilize the screens in the new phones out today. Thanks!
Havnt used a ton but seems to do good
I love this. Once I realized I could use this alone with the start delay I started using it alot and improving by seeing the feedback. The pop up in the free version is minor but I will pay for the app to support it. It's great and saved me buying a timer.
Like it
Garbage
Love the app, thanks! One suggestion - a way to see previous timed groups to compare against each other. For example - compare group 1 of 6 shots to group 2 of 6 shots (after I've stopped and started the timer again). Just a suggestion, and I will keep using no matter what :-)
I am just getting used to this shot timer and have several questions. I was at the indoot range using the shot timer and the people next to me in the other booth their shots were registering as well on the app. Is there a way to prevent this? Also how can I use this for dry-fire practice?
There is a large Market here for a timer Timers on the market cost $125 plus. this one needs some improvement .If you have one I am a buyer Shots don't always register ,I can't save the files for today.'s shooting without using another app to go to the directory to find file.
Great app. The adjustable filter works good. Almost better than a dedicated timer. Only suggestion from my shooting friend is adjustable start tone. (More line normal ipsc timer)
Really liked this app, easy to use and apply. Mayby a lil louder timer tone lol.Literally surprised myself on my draw/shoot time.
Works pretty well!
I've used 2 other shot timers and this one is by far the best. Very easy to use and seems pretty accurate. The fact that it gives you a Db estimate Is also nice, since you can determine if any of the recorded shots were from background noise or if it was a legitimate shot.
Tried other apps but this one consistently works. I like that it is easy to use and has some good directions.
Shot three strings of 7 shots from an AR 15. Only detected 1 or 2 shots out of each string. I was alone in the woods so there couldn't have been ambient noise. Had settings in the middle. If I shoot my AR in the woods does it make a sound? Not if Splits is listening. Last time I used the app was with an air riffle and it picked up the shots but tended to mistake other sounds, like when I cheered for beating my record after the last shot. There is no function to delete false readings. Will try it again sliding the echo sensitivity to the left. There still needs to be an edit function for false readings after the fact. My shot timer on my old Windows phone collected all sound data and you were able to adjust sensitivity after the fact to only count shots. This is a better way to do it so you don't waste ammo trying to calibrate the app.
Worked great without any adjustments. Tons of cool features that allows you to save your runs and compare your times.
An actual shot timer that works. Ive tried quite a few and this is the first one that does what it says. So happy with the free version, I bought the full app. (Samsung S5).
Install this on my LG Stylo 2. No matter where I set the adjustments, it would not pick up my shot.
I haven't had a chance to take this to the range yet. My main question from watching the video to, what I'm assuming is, the updated version I have now, how do I set the decibel level for it to register? I'm doing some dry fire training and it's picking up my holster or safety, and I want to set it to just the click of the hammer if possible
Just got done at the range after trying this out. Amazing, simple, and effective. The ad asking if you want the paid version is a little annoying, but does not effect the use. Will be buying the paid version soon.
Very good. The popup asking if i would like to pay for no adds version gets annoying but besides thats its a great app
I just use it as an added level of training. Works good, never had a problem with it.

So far, it's been working very well. My one issue is that when I manually stop the timer, instead of letting it time itself out as I have programmed, it will for some reason record a shot having been fired without any abrupt noise having been recorded. I thought perhaps I was tapping too hard, but that doesn't seem to be the case. If I let the three second timer run its course, this issue does not occur. Other than that, very satisfied with this app. Thank you for your work.
