CSipSimple for Android
This app was causing my call audio to re-route from Bluetooth to the handset speaker whenever Wi-Fi would connect, even on cell calls. After months of troubleshooting I was able to determine this app alone was the cause. After uninstalling this app I no longer have that problem.
Love the Filter & rewrite option. For some reason, it stopped working: calls are established, but I audio isn't working, I don't hear anything. Cache cleared, reinstalled, phone rebooted, all to no avail. Zoiper or MizuDroid are working, but I kinda liked CSipSimple. CM12.1, OnePlus One
Worked first time zero hassles, bye bye sipdroid! It needs to be able to save its configuration and data to Google services, or even just to memory card, otherwise you have to put all your configurations back if you reset your phone.
Can't remove the thing in the notification tray when local sip is active. Maybe not your fault but i can't stand it as it also polluted my lock screen. Had to remove it and live without local lan sip calls.
Love this. I'm not the tech guy, got the info for connection to our phones from IT and was able to configure myself using the built-in wizard. but I can't get it to work without WiFi so I took off one star. IT guys couldn't either.
Works reasonably well. However it doesn't stay registered when I'm not using my phone, so I can't use it for incoming calls. I can't see any settings to tell it to stay connected.
It seems to have issues staying connect in Marshmallow with doze. I'll play around and see if it's something I can fix clientside (and update the rating if so) Other than that, I love the app. It works great.
Followed setup instructions but just says registering forever, then inactive. Pants. Looked up the probem online, lots of people having same issue. Nobody has come back with a solution. Total waste of time.
Use Zoiper. Unfortunately I didn't check the date of this thing before investing in the Codec in hopes of improving the quality. This app is just too old.
SIMPLE! I always mucked around with BRIA. this is simple, just pick eg. your provider then the user name (usually account number/not login name) and password AND THATS IT!! .. im impressed.
The app works very well on my Snapdragon phone (Zoiper fails despite using a STUN server), but on Atom based phones it just crashes instantly. Will that ever be fixed...?
I have been using it for not a long period of time, but it proved itself a very good app. [Update] after writing the review, the app started lagging and takes long time to register. I uninstalled it
I have tried many SIP phones, and this was the only one that would work properly. Is really simple to use. Only issue I seem to have is possibly power drain and calls wont always terminate cleanly.
Used to be my favorite SIP client. Good quality when it works. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated since 2014 and I now have connectivity issues on my Blue Life One X; it says registered when it is not and I miss calls. I switched to Bria instead.
Allows you to make free, and secure, calls to anyone depending on your SIP provider. Integrates well with the stock dialer on your phone. The developer replies to emails promptly, courteously and fully answers questions.
It kinda works, so that's good. But the interface is poor and finding how to get all the settings correct so that Bluetooth works is a real pain. Right now it's 50-50 that the mic works. This should not be so hard.
Does not seem to work on Android 6 - Motorola Moto G (2nd Ed)
Easy to set-up and use. Integrates nicely with Android so you can use the same dialler for both normal mobile calls and VOIP but doesn't try to take over your 'phone. I've tried loads of other clients, most of which simply do not work.
If you have an active call, go on mute and your screen locks then you can't unmute your call as it goes to the dialer rather than the active call screen.
Dear developers! 1)Please update the list of servers of voip.ms. 2) Also, it is easy to kill the app from the recent app list. The service (or what is it called in Android) keeps running. If you run csipsimple again, it won't register on your server. Would be nice if this was fixed. 3) echo cancellation doesn't work on voip.ms lately. The other party hears their own voice. This doesn't happen on Zoiper and others. Thank you!
CSipSimple and Sipdroid are both excellent. CSipSimple is probably heavier but has a slicker UI and a better integration with the OS. Didn't notice any major difference in terms of call quality. I've been using CSipSimple lately... **Update:** not sure the development is still active -1 star
Installed in my new android 6.0 phone. The problem i have is that when i turn off the screen (standby mode) calls doesn't get through. I need to manually activate the app. Once activated, i noticed that the sip account is shown as inactive and i have to wait for a few seconds for it to reconnect. I can't use this unless this issue is fixed. I have no problem with this app in my old android 4.2.
This is a solid app. The downside is it hasn't been updated since 2014 which makes me worry about it's support going forward, however it is open source. There are tiny issues here and there but nothing showstopping. Big annoyance is I can't paste a phone number.
Since last update I didn't get any crashes (used to be daily) so I'll give a few more stars. Definitely the call quality is the best among Android clients. ...and I probably tried most of them./Update: just when it stopped crashing, development is discontinued...nice.
As a YouTuber, I greatly needed and searched for a VoIP call recording app. Finally I've found this out of those countless, useless apps. I love it. Now I can make better videos since my friends can join me in them.
Doesn't work 95% of the time. Accounts says registered but can't place or receive calls. It also often requires manual quit and reconnect after switching from wifi to wireless. I get it working only after a reboot, and as long as I don't go outside, or inside, or move..... Last updated November 30, 2014? I guess this is abandonware now.
can you please let me know how can i connect with my domain. i followed these steps : 1-add account 2-select basic from prompt. 3-full filling details 4- save 5- giving error of 70018 (ERESOLVE)
Works nicely on Note 3 and Tab 3 8.0 but on Tab S 8.4 both wifi and LTE due to high screen resolution contacts are over all screens, please fix cool app otherwise. Thank you.
Once you learn it, it works great, with lots of tweaking options! On the Nexus 6p I had some issues with my voice dropping at the other end while talking, like some kind of echo cancelation issue kicking in to hard. Disabling echo cancelation did not fix it though. But, changing Audio Implementation (Media -> Audio Troubleshooting) from OpenSL-ES to Java seems to do the trick, a great improvement in quality (at least when calling my echotest endpoint; haven't tried real call yet). Thanks!
Using voximplant for bitrix24. Call quality wasn't the best but it works. Zoiper gives request timeout 408
Big bullshit app no working after registration. Cette application est une grosse merde ne fonctionne pas après l'enregeristrement sur le site de plus elle consomme beaucoup de batterie pour rien bref fuyez cette daube vous perdez votre temp
Unfortunately I can't test the app: getting "Registration timeout" error. Sent email requesting advice but no response. Bump to 4 stars. Issue fixed and working.
Any chance of a Material update? How can I contact you to discuss adding my VoIP business into your settlings?
The app disconnects and refuses to reconnect to my local sip with the error "Error while registering - Bad Request" every time I change a global setting. But after a while it works fine again.
I honestly expected more bugs, but this app is incredible and easy for even a first time VoIP user to get working.
Was great, but complete stopped working with Aug 2 2013 update, galaxy nexus using cyanogen.
Wtf, can't replace prefix by predefined rules. Regexp too. Wtf. Nexus5. All worked before. 5 stars. Current one for attract attention.
Can't set up for my voip supplier - it says registering and nothing happens. I used exact settings as in sipdroid. Sipdroid works for me but can't use keypad after a call is established so trying to see if keypad works in this app. Unfortunately can't even test.
Didn't work at first, got no audio from callers - app tried to blame lack of stun server but was because it had not loaded a compatible codec. Installed codec pack and enabled all codecs, now it works like a champ.

Too much effort to try to get an average calling experience. I dont think this app has been updated in 2 years. Very buggy, such as calls hanging, no audio. I think its the way it's handling the codecs.
