Add the numbers to the left of the decimal. Take the last digit of the sum & compare to the penny's place.

Ex. $12.56
1 + 2 = 3 Does Not Match

This app doesn't calculate a checksum, it's just a tip calculator. Easy to defeat by adding to one number and subtracting from another.
