Crunchyroll Manga

Like the CR anime app, your selection is far greater with a subscription. Navigation is easy, layout isn't an eyesore, plus you can add favorites and bookmarks. In that respect, it's leaps and bounds better than the manga reader on the main website. What ruins the app is a bug that signs you out. When trying to sign in, you get a message saying "Unauthenticated error." The only workaround I've found so far is to uninstall and reinstall. Fix this and it'll be a 5-star rating!

A lot of good series on here. My one big complaint is having no organization of the bookmarks. There isn't an alphabetical order to it, and it doesn't keep bookmarks from the same manga together, only if you saved them at the same time. I use bookmarks to save favorite moments from series as well, so trying to find them again is nearly impossible. So separating bookmarks from each series into folders and adding a filter/search system on top of that would be really helpful.

Honestly I love it!!! It has interesting Mangas and keeps you coming back for more. Only 2 problems I do have with it is that some Mangas are incomplete and are not all there, like fairytale, it only has chapters 300-400... Also there should be more variety in choice, but it's better than Netflix so I can't really complain... anyway, just complete the incomplete Mangas and update the app with more Mangas to read. Btw I can't wait for the next chapter of "kiss him not me" it's a great manga, I recommend it.

The app is very nice looking and seems to be well designed, but I am noticing a very clear lack in selection. I am not sure if they somehow just made titles hard to find, like you have to jump through some sort of hoops to find them, or is this really all they have? Free apps have a wider selection than this. It's less than 50 titles, I'd say.

I see it a few time in the rates so let me explain. It's an app made by Crunchyroll (an anime site) for the manga they have a license for on the site. Now, this is pretty much is just an app for members like the regular Cruchyroll app. Premium membership is needed, which includes the manga along with access to anime and dramas. No way around it since anime has always been the main focus and they are slowly expanding the manga section. Getting the year membership is cheaper. Hope that helps.

App problem is fixed so I'm good. Still works great seems to have a low selection but considering its included in my Anime (which I spend more time with when it comes to crunchyroll) I'm not upset by thia. Its like orderinng a medium pizza, and they threw in mozzerella sticks. It's something amazing with a pretty good bonus.

I get to legally read a few of the manga that I enjoy, but the issue is logging in. I have had this issue several times for where I am logged out (even in the midst reading) and cannot log back in no matter what I do. I have to wait at least several days for it to decide that I'm entering a proper email address and password. And, yes, I have reset my password from a computer and tried entering the new password, but to no avail.

And that really describes a lot about this app. It's like... an extended service for premium members. If you already are one, here's some nice manga for free. It's not overwhelming and there's plenty good ones in there, but don't get too hopeful. Now, if you're one of the many who thinks they are getting an app that distributes infinite amounts of your favorite manga then... Well, you might need to rethink a few things about how you think ~anything~ works.

Worked fine up until yesterday evening. In the middle of reading a manga and I get signed out. Can't sign back in and only get a Network Error or "no session" error. Have tried on two different WiFi connections and using mobile data. Cleared all data from the app, reinstalled and even restarted my phone. Nothing works. Safe to say this app is garbage as of now. No other app has these issues for me.

App works beautifully for the few titles it has, I understand it takes time you build up a library for these things however so I hold out hope for the future. Just don't forget us users who've supported you from early on. :P

I was expecting more from Crunchyroll. It is a very limited library, although it does have simulpub with AoT which makes me super happy. Also, there was another person with this issue, it signs me out and won't let me sign back in until I reinstall it. I was hoping the last update fixed this but apparently not :-( Otherwise it's free (with subscription) simulpub manga! *UPDATE* Manga is also down on Crunchyroll website so it may be a server error. Will update when I know for sure.

There are so few Manga that even catch my eye that are avaliable on the app. Downloaded it thinking, "Crunchy roll is reliable for selection, right!?" I was very mistaken. Almost all of the Mangas overlap in genre and there also aren't many in each genre to begin with. I understand this is an app and cannot access everything the site can as well as this is not an all you can read Manga buffet, but seriously?

Sometimes loads a wrong page, and I need to reopen the manga for it to get fixed. I hope the selection gets better over time, as I've been looking for a service like this to support the manga authors without paying for shipping. It would be nice if next chapter was preloaded like any other page.

Without an account you can't do too much. And switching between landscape and portrait requires the images to be reloaded, which makes no sense. The ui is clean and we'll organized, probably one of the best I've seen. But ad placement is a bit... distracting. personally I think a pop-up ad when I finish reading is a better experience.

Crunchyroll anime works on my samsung galaxy core prime (I have a paid account!) But manga app doesn't work I get "no session", which is bogus I'm on WiFi watching anime. why can't I read it? And not only read it won't even let me log in. please fix this! Thank you. username- ChikaneNoMiko

Come on you can do better not everybody wants to pay money for this. You would be better off doing something like the anime app and just do adds. I don't mind waiting a week for the newest thing but come on seriously?! Why would you give only one chapter to non premium users? DO NOT DOWNLOAD UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY REAL MONEY FOR THIS!!!

Honestly was hopimg for a more complete library, found the selection limited and the updates a tad behind a lot of free scanlation sites. The jumbled pages every few chapters in one of the series I was reading was bit of a moodkiller for me, but I don't know if that's just the one consistent issue with the one series or a wider issue. Either way not good. All in all while it was a smooth app to read on, the sheer lack of range in the material makes it not worth the sub for me. That's just my 2 cents though, if you're only interested in new releases that they actually have then it'll probably be a good fit for you.

It has a great selection of manga, and they are updated regularly. Some are updated on a chapter basis, while others are updated on a volume basis. The manga reader is beautiful, and works wonderfully. My only complaint is that some pages in many of the manga don't load in the correct order. So, sometimes pages are repeated and some are completely skipped over!

The app itself is everything you could ever hope for. The interface is intuitive and the selection is fair for the price you pay. However, this review is about the app itself and not the service Crunchyroll provides. The app crashes far too often and does so early. As I'm reading manga, it would either freeze, crash, or display a black screen that says, "Image failed to load. Please try again later." These bugs are far too common and until they are fixed, I cannot recommend this app.

Network error occurred. Please check your internet connection and try again...there's nothing wrong with my connection. It worked earlier, but I think toggling my devices language settings to Spanish messed it up somehow.

I am rerating one star. The app crashes so often it is UNUSABLE. Seeing a lot of "Image load failed" msg . I really like where this app is going feature wise (v2.0). The new chapter notices and new content display is really nice. I however am having major stability issues on the Nexus 7 (2012) with Android 4.4.4. The app is constantly crashing and restarting during browsing and reading. If they can get that sorted this will be about perfect. I am a premium member.

I signed in and it signed me back out. Now I cant sign back in. Also there are none of the manga classics on this. Just the newest and most current. Then there's the fact that there are very little mangas to choose from... I love this app and I know you guys work hard but could you fix this? Please help!

It looked like a good app, and as it was from crunchy roll I knew that a premium version would be offered. However what I didn't expect was to be nagged and pestered to get premium each time I chose a chapter of any anime. How do I decide that premium is worth the money if I don't even know what the manga quality is like? I haven't laid one eye on any manga that you offer and you're trying to get me to pay for mangas that I've never seen. I could live with the adverts for premium if there was a way to say that you were happy with the normal version for now but there isn't, there's no button to close the ad whatsoever. You might as well make us pay for the app in the first place if you're going to force people into paying for premium.

I was kind of excited for this, but then after my third chapter there were so many ads that I could even see the manga. On top of it all there are pretty much no mangas on here. Go Somewhere else.

I mainly subscribed to Crunchyroll for the anime, but the manga section is great! Crunchyroll's an awesome service! Give yourself the blessing of subscribing if you're an anime fan. It's cheap, and you're supporting the industry. My only complaint about the app is that the pages are too small. Other than that, it's perfect.

Overall it's my favorite manga reader. The guide makes all other readers feel like a waste of time. I should rate 3 due to bugs, though. There are plenty. There's also a huge lack in quantity. I'd like to see a lot more titles come out more frequently. Aside from that, what's available is pretty good and it has become essential to my breaks at work. I hope to see good things come of this app to make it worthy of a 5 star rating like I know it could.

Why download the app for free when your going to make people pay anyways in order to read any of the manga???? I was so happy for a moment, like, finally an app that won't suck and will let me read manga! But nope. I can't read anything unless I pay =.= that ruined it for me.

Problem is its more on the neglected side in that it barely has an update and has a constant chance of booting me out of my log in. The newest issue now though is that it can't connect to your servers. Getting a lil frustrating really.

It has a very small selection of series (which is typical of the Crunchyroll stuff), and even fewer popular or mainstream manga series like Naruto or Bleach. It has under ten genre's, most of which have overlapping manga. The manga it does have are well scanned and translated, but its still just eh.

I would not recommend this app. I do not understand why you need to be connected to the internet in order to use it. I had to sign up for a premium account to read the latest chapter of a listed manga. This is exactly why people prefer downloading, it is simple and straight-forward. The Komik reading app is so much more better, simple and more streamlined than this useless app. If I have to read from the internet then there was no point of downloading this app. Fail Crunchyroll.

Constant reminders for comics I can't see. I cant login. My account is active and my password is correct. It keeps kicking me out and when I am in it gives issues. Please fix this. Thanks. I'm tired of the no session response when my info is correct.

I like having a legit option to read manga, but this app is not nearly as good as it could be. It crashes or needs to be restarted constantly. Sometimes pages wont load at all. The reading guide feature is nice, but many titles dont have it.

Don't get me wrong I love it. But compared to the anime catalog it's small, maybe because it's new? Anyway I'm sticking with it. Crunchy roll is THE way to support anime and I'll stand behind it just please please get more titles.

Pages don't load properly all the time. No easy way to refresh a page

Great app even if the selection is small. One change I'd make is to have the new chapter notification disappear when you have read said chapter. I keep thinking I have a new chapter of A-jin and it's really disappointing me ;-;

As a seasoned Manga reader, I don't need the reading assist to know which panel to read next, but it sure as hell helps with shock factor as it obscures those bottom of the page spoilers until you get to that particular panel.

I am having too many problems. My internet and phone is fine, but it keeps signing me out and saying that my connection doesn't work. I have done all I could, including resetting my phone, clearing my cache, resetting my internet box, and even un-installing and re-installing the app itself. When I even try to log in, it says I have no session. I got my membership a few days ago! My anime app is just fine, but the manga app....No.

One if the main reasons I got the app was so I could read a certain manga which they did not have. Thankfully I found another really good one, but it continues to reload previous pages from earlier in the chapter and at first I thought maybe they were flashbacks but then I realized they were bugs

There are so many more titles out there, and I know that to be legit Crunchyroll is limited in what they can carry, but I do wish there was more. I also have the issue of a new page loading as a previous page - it happens in every single chapter of every single anime I read; it's especially annoying when it's a new chapter.

I couldn't even read attack on titan or any other mangas I like. There was only 37 different mangas available I didn't know any of them!
