Las “Dominicas Misioneras de la Sagrada Familia”, es una Congregación perteneciente a la familia de la “Orden de Predicadores” cuyo fundador fue Santo Domingo de Guzmán. De él y sus seguidores, concretamente en Canarias el Padre Cueto (1892-1910) y la Madre Pilar, nuestros fundadores, proviene la espiritualidad que anima la misión educativa de nuestra Congregación.

Domingo de Guzmán nace en Caleruega (Burgos) el año 1170 y recibió un “Don Profético” que lo impulsó a dar respuestas concretas a las situaciones de crisis que vivía la Iglesia y la sociedad de su tiempo. Poseía una clara conciencia de que el hombre, para llegar a su plena realización personal y ser así verdadero agente de cambio, debe poseer un profundo celo por la búsqueda de la verdad a través de la contemplación y estudio permanente. El lema que sustenta en la formación de su orden para el servicio de la Iglesia es: “Comtemplata aliis tradere”, COMTEMPLAR Y DAR LO CONTEMPLADO.
