Galnet News From The Frontier for Android
Great app. Has good potential to be THE ed offline companion, it's going to be hard/impossible to compete with sites like inara etc though. Some minor things that could be improved: add blueprints, other uses and engineers on components. Add engineers(links) on blueprints. Add limit or pages to galnet news, can get a little slow on older phones(maybe add it to the settings). Don't try to update if there is no internet connection. Allow the app to be moved to SD card. Bug w refresh and back anim no repro yet
Great app! Makes it easy to keep up with what's happening in the galaxy even when at work or otherwise away from home! :) One thing tho ... Would it be possible to add the ability to swipe left/right to go between different news stories? It's a bit cumbersome to have to go back after being done reading an article to read the next one.
This app is very good and well polished. Having this information on hand in or out of game is a must for any diehard CMDR.
Perfect for any level Commander, has all Engineer recipes, up-to-date Galnet news entries, Powerplay information, you name it. Keep on flying on, Craigview Software. -CMDR CrimsonGamer99
GalNet news and important information in your pocket. Simple to use but full of relevant data so you are never left out of important news.
Fantastic app, and very pleasing on the eye. One small issue though is that the date of each entry shows as the date you opened the app and it downloaded it, not the actual date it was posted. I have noted another app by a different developer does this, but it's not as eye catching, or easy to use as this one... Any chance you could update it to show the correct article dates?
Great for checking the 'news and happenings' without leaving the relative safety of my cockpit. However, a notification option would also be welcome.
Simplified galaxy map, mabye in the drop down menu format like in the ship?
Like the app. Needs next/previous buttons on the portrait screens.
Would love to see the power play things on here like where the military strikes are for each fraction and stuff like that other than that it's a great app
Not much more to say, easy way to keep up on galnet while in the pilots seat or elsewhere.
I think that having notifications when there is a new article could improve this app so much! Great job!
Like this app & it's proven useful.
Best way to keep up with GalNet.
The only thing keeping me from giving this app 5 stars is that it isn't easy to tell the difference between articles I've read and those I haven't. Maybe have the text or field change color instead of bold or not bold. Also it would be nice to be able to get new article alerts based on one or more selected powers/topics. Maybe farther down the line introduce a search function when you want to see all past articles based on keyword or topic. eg. Search: Empire; Dawn; investigation.
Great app. and working after update
Must have for any Elite Dangerous fan.
A very handy tool for keeping up to date on Galnet news.
Great, except that the large font size doesn't look that much larger
I tried reinstalling a few times but I still don't see any articles tried pulling down to refresh but no dice... I'm using a Nexus4 on android 5.0. DEV: is there anything I can do to get the articles to load? EDIT: Still doesnt work But I'll give 4 stars for the devs quick reply. I hope it starts working for me I'll keep checking. Thank you for the reply
Does what it says ... And no ads!
Why anyone would give this app 1 star is beyond me... It requires no permissions, it's ad free, has a settings menu where you can change the font size for news (granted only default and large), and even has a few color themes to chose from. Seriously, the other galnet app here has a higher rating and you can't even properly scroll an article... I guess it's because this app has a Material Design theme and the competition's is truer to the game's UI design? But 1 star?
Nice view on the news feed, saves reading in-game, and gives something to do during those long FSD supercruises :)

I had this on my Tab 4 for quite a while and recently installed it on my S7. There's color customization available, and with the addition of Engineer and Blueprint information, this app has improved significantly! And of course, there's the news feed which is the reason for getting this app in the first place, which is both convenient and easy to access. One complaint would be to add the amount of materials needed for each Blueprint, but otherwise this app is a must have for serious pilots!
