Corsair Voyager Air for Android
I have both a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and some Apple devices (iPhone and iPad). Video streaming on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is choppy. The video stutters or pauses for a few seconds every few minutes. With the same video file, it plays smoothly without any problems on the Apple devices using this same app (the Apple version). My Note 3 has faster CPU and more RAM. There must be something wrong with this Android version of the app.
Great way to bring your media with you for the kids on summer vacation!
Cannot even connect
I loaded the app on my iPad and Galaxy S4. I can connect to the voyager air via WiFi and have the WiFi pass thru enabled. However I cannot figure out for the life of me how to load files from my devices to the Voyager Air itself. Anyone have any ideas? I also keep getting firmware update messages but have not been able to get that whole issue figures out yet either.......this thing is a joke as far as use ability and definitely is not "plug and play ".
I had to program this thing all by myself. The voyager is nothing but a fancy brick until you spend hours trying to program this. Dont bother just return and buy one that comes ready for use.
First it didn't work with v1 version if Voyager Air with latest 2.3.0 firmware and Samsung Note 3. I'm connected to drive WiFi but app doesn't find device. But, after I reconnected to device WiFi app started working.
I have v1 of the drive. This app won't work with 1.2.8 firmware. If you have the v1 drive download the 2.0.17 and the 2.3.0 from the corsair Web site. First unzip the 2.0.17 update and copy the .pkg file to the root folder of the drive (USB is easier for this) eject the drive, turn off, must plug in drive to charger, then turn on to upgate. WiFi will blink while update. Now app will work but repeat update for 2.3.0. Must trigger 2.3.0 update now in app settings once file is in root folder.
For this having problem upgrading the Voyager Air 1 to the latest firmware and app., please read the read me file... You have to install v2_0_17 before you can install and run v2.3.0. I have the new firmware installed on my Voyager Air 1 and it runs very well on Motorola Xoom (yes, first iteration of Google tablet), Asus Transformer and Samsung S6. I would rate this app 5 stars if I could label and sort / find videos better. I currently file each videos in directories because I find the video folder useless
It doesn't work at all
Refuses to connect to my original Voyager air
No mkv support despite being advertised to
Doesnt work
Also VERY slow transfer speed, like 2Mb/sec slow!

Works as external drive but this software with my samsung Galaxy lll cannot find the drive on WiFi even though my desktop can detect it easily. But i have no software for the desktop that will alow me to use it.
the app can't see the voyager. I can connect via browser (but not do anything much with it) so I know it is all working in hardware.
I get internal server error cannot connet to Samsung android phone
'Internal server error' - reflash firmware version 2.0.17 and that should fix it. I am having difficulty getting certain file formats to play (some AAC, MP3) that play perfectly in iTunes and on my iPod. It is frustrating because I won't know these files aren't playable until I go to play them. My phone is capable of playing AAC and MP3 so I'm not sure what the problem is.
It works pretty well for watching home videos and looks ng and photos on your phone/tablet. But it really should allow you to cast those to the TV. I don't understand why this feature is not available.
If there wasa better way to navigate through files I would give a better review. The app could use a facelift but I am happy with the hardware.
I can no longer connect to my drive. Please come up with a fix

I bought a Corsair Voyager Air wifi drive to use with my Kindle Fire 8.9 tablet. My drive has version 2 firmware, this app is version 2, but Amazon said that it was not compatible with my Kindle fire, so I couldn't download it from their App Store. I emailed Corsair who replied promptly with a link to the .apk on their website and instructions on how to install it. Impressive customer response!
