WordPerfect Viewer for Android for Android
Not even a viewer. It's a conversion tool for wpd files to HTML. Barebones. My steadfast loyalty to the Corel productivity ecosystem is reaching its limit. Products like this, and the embarrassing WP for iPad app (a painfully clunky remote desktop client, used to access WP for Windows running on some Corel server) lead me to believe Corel has all but given up on their flagship piece of software. It would appear there's been zero substantial additions to the codebase since .... hell .... Wordperfect 10 [which added pdf support]. Maybe even *8* after all ... 95% of my macro library will run on 8. Neither of the last two releases of the desktop suite have offered much additional functionality ... the biggest new feature of each seemed to be compatibility with the latest version of Windows.
I cannot open my WP Documents on my sd card directly
Wouldn't open any files. Couldn't search. Useless.
Completely USELESS!!!
Failed to work. Waste of time. Toshuba excite 10 completely unabke to open wpd files from even internal memory. Wouldn't work with internal file manager or even oi file manager
I just replaced Samsung S4 with Samsung S7 Edge phone. I reinstalled WP Viewer, but now when I do word search in a WordPerfect doc, search function not working like it used to on my S4. As I type in each letter and a search is going on throughout the document for the word typed so far, the place in the document where the word 1st appears momentarily flashes for a second, but then the view returns to the 1st page. When I use up/down arrows to go to next/prior word, it stays on 1st page. Any fix for this?
I am a WordPerfect user since 5.1 and have X7 at home and in the office, so this is a "must-have" app. However, at $3.99, it is far more expensive than most comparable apps. It has minimal features. It is only a viewer (actually converts wpd files to html so it doesn't edit natively) and cannot even open password-protected files. You must use a third-party app to access your documents, there is no link to cloud apps like DropBox, OneDrive, SugarSync, etc. I haven't had it long enough to test its reliability. Buy it only if you must but realize its limits.
This is a fairly useless app. It claims to do no more than convert your wpd files into html format so you can read them. What good is that? The overwhelming majority of people who want to read a wpd document will want to create, edit, email and/or save a wpd document. This app freely acknowledges that it doesn't enable any of that. It maintains the WP tradition of completely failing to keep up and thereby allowing the competition (which was once way behind) to leave it so far behind that even the dust has settled. Futhermore, l can't even get it do the bare minimum that it claims to do. The "open as" option does not include WordPerfect viewer. So, all in all, completely useless. Nil stars.
Nice app. But, because it has no edit capability I have not rated it very highly!
This app opens up all my WordPerfect files quickly and accurately. I love the search function. Now I can find what I need in long documents. I love that it brings in all the graphics too. I've used this app for over a year and it has worked flawlessly for me. The search function no longer works, rendering this app almost useless.
This app basically displays the plain text of a document with formatting that hardly resembles the original. Advance with the market Corel. Give us a proper android WordPerfect app or at the very least a decent document viewer.
Although you can view you cannot print but must go through a complicated process to copy to another word processor to save and print. There is potential should Corel choose to give it to us.
Converts .wpd file to html document. That can easily be done with other apps. Plain crap!!
This app owns up all my WordPerfect files quickly and accurately. I love the search function. Now I can find what I need in long documents. I love that it brings in all the graphics too. I've used this app for over a year and it has worked flawlessly for me.
I have been looking for a wpd viewer since I got my Droid phone six months, ago. It is great not to go through hoops to open a wpd document. I would love to see some editing/writing capabilities added , but am happy for to have a viewer ... Update: I purchased this 3 years ago & had expected the addition of editing abilities. I now have a tablet with a blue tooth keyboard. I want to be able to start work on my desktop and continue working on my tablet or vice versa without converting and reformating or switching to Word on my PC. Come on Corel, join the times and give us dwindling diehards a full WP experience. Until that time I'm reducing my 4* review to a 2*.
I would have given this app more stars if this app could edit! All of us diehard WordPerfect users would love editing abilities and features. Come on Corel get on board with your apps!
I purchased the WordPerfect Viewer with the idea that I should at least be able to share the document with a printer, thus print a hard copy of a WordPerfect document. This was not possible. My headers and footers did not show in the viewer either. I knew the app was limited. I didn't realize it was that limited. I would call this app useless for me and will remove it.
This app is not worth the cost. Total waste. Unless you have .wpd as an extension it would not load up.
Been using WordPerfect since the 90's. Great to be able to easily open WP file with this app, but without ability to edit, this app is of little value. WP, you can do better than this!
Needs more than just view. Please release more complete version
Been using WordPerfect since version 4.1. Lack of support and crap like this have destroyed Corel and what used to be the best word processing program. I'm done with both.
I don't only like to view WP documents I need to work on them. What good is just viewing? I can convert to PDF and view! The PDF converts better and usually looks better. Must use a different program to work in android. Then try to make work with WP in windows. What a waist of time and energy. In Windows I still rate WP far above . But I'm sure getting tired ova the extra work with with the lack of compatibility with Android.
It is useful because I am a die-hard WordPerfect user, and I am glad to be able to view and copy text. Even so, it only views one file type (.wpd) and doesn't allow editing. It is overpriced for such limited functionality. It really converts the WPD file to HTML. It would be more useful if it converted it to PDF and even more useful if it allowed editing of the WPD file. (Razr Maxx HD/Galaxy Note 10.1)
Really quite a basic viewer that works by converting to HTML. Seeing this function is built into WP for Windows, should have been given to WP license holders. Not a good move to charge $5.60 Corel. You want more people using WP? Then serve your customer base well! Don't leave us feeling ripped off,
This simple viewer doesn't display much of the formatting in documents, like the lines of pleading paper, but it does allow me to see the content. Since I have many gigabytes of documents in WP format and use WP for my daily word processing needs, it's an essential utility. I agree with others that it should be free, but it's worth the price to see my documents and Corel has us over a barrel.

Worst paid app i've ever purchased. Needed to open a word perfect file while on the go for a meeting so i bought this. Not only does the app force close 100% of the time but i can't open any word files still. Give me my $ back.
Version 2 - Improved! Recommended!! Now includes folder/file management and renders images. Could use some text flow around the images though (when text flow is present in the original document).
Pros: this viewer works, contrary to the above review it does open files from the SD card. The manual says to open it first as text, then the viewer comes up as an option. It works fine for viewing basic dogs with outlines and simple formatting, but it does so by converting the file to HTML, which can then be exported, which is nice. Cons: $6 For this functionality is way to much. .pdf and.doc viewers are free, and doc editors are free. Corel, I love WordPerfect, but for six bucks, I think I'll just save as an MSWord file when I need android access . . . Very disappointed.

Works great! I can read everything clearly. But yes, it should have been free.
Way overpriced for what it does. I finally gave in and purchased this app because the frustrations of not being able to open wpd files on my Android devices got the better of me. I'm prepared to pay for apps so as not to have adds, but this should be no more than a couple of dollars max!
Nice interface for us WP users, but way too limited; especially for the price. This should be free! Corel can either promote the use of their word processor by giving is users mobile flexibility, or continue to watch users jump ship to other suites. That should be a simple choice....
...but the ability to edit is essential, and it's not there.
It can view from Gmail attachment, but not as a downloaded document. Almost $6 is too much for a limited use app.
Anything WP-related is great!
Does what it says
For that price, I should at least be able to edit documents. For viewing only, $0.99 seems more reasonable. Also doesn't seem to open password protected documents, which is half the reason I got it. Glad to see there's FINALLY a way to open wpd files on my phone, but rather disappointed by this app overall.
I need to be able to work on a WordPerfect doc, not just view it. I think Corel is missing the boat here.

What an absolute dismal app lacking so many options and UI's that I don't have enough time to list if I had a week and robotic thumbs; also, it is proof that Teddy Roosevelt was right about busting monopolies. Make sure when you move those files into the *new* folders and subfolders you don't have too many because you have to do it one at a time. Yet I have it installed because it's the only gig in town.
