Ski Tracks for Android
UPDATE: even on a new device the polling frequency is too slow. ski tracks shows an erratic z-pattern. speeds measured are therefore inaccurate. Great if you don't turn.
A fantastic app for granular ski data, I'd give it five stars if only for one day when everything failed at 42% battery life. Not knowing the cause I can only assign blame equally.
Had an issue with GPS not working and contacted support. They were quick to reply and it turns out it was because i was in battery saver mode. Turned that off and it worked perfectly. Couuld do with a warning if it can't get a good GPS fix that this might be the problem.
Latest version doesn't work on HTC One M8 or friends Samsung. GPS not getting fix although locations services working with other apps. Have checked location services for the app and all looks okay
Love this app. One improvement I would like to see is if I can edit a run. I forgot to stop recording and ended up driving with the app running. I topped out at 70mph on my snowboard. If I can delete a run it will be fabulous.
I used to love this app. It used to be accurate but now after updates it has become a lieing peice of crap that over exaggerate everything. It's like fake news.
Great app, used it for a couple of ski trips and it's really interesting to see how far and fast we've been . Only wish it had compatibility with my fitbit
It doesn't get any GPS signal (Oneplus two). All the other apps get GPS signal at the same time. Therefore, this app was useless and just waste of money.
Great on my s7 edge. Nice to look at the history to compare ski trips. Surprised it shows I skied far more in Kitzbuhel than the same week a year later in Tignes.
App is rubbish, installed it because my crystal ski one wasnt great, in the end the crystal one was more accurate. For example ski tracks said i hit 25kph on my snowboard and crystal app said 39kph. Couldnt trust either
Mostly good. I do wish it did a calorie burn calculation also though. I also think it could do with a once over for the interface from a human factors perspective.
it does not work but i tried some other apps and they all dont work so i think there is someting wrong with my phone
Annoying that the application won't connect to GPS and the link to get help doesn't offer help connecting to the GPS either.
Worked for half a day. Now I just get blank screen. Did a force restart. Clear cache. No dice.
Does a great job of tracking your day on the hill. Because it uses Google maps, you can even see where you are on the mountain just by looking at the map page. A must have for people that like to log everythig!
App is crashing on Moto 360 2 smartwach. Edit: fixed
Really useful app. The only thing I'd ask for is the ability to add a custom activity, or add snow skating to the list.
Good app. Just doesn't let you set to feet and km/h. Only way to see your elevation in ft is to put speed on mph. Please fix this.
The app is missing a delete button for the runs, I always forget it on and I record my "run" in the bus. Please guys, develop something that allow me to delete runs. Thanks.
After 2 minutes kept showing that there was a GPS issue, even though i have location on high accuracy and not in battery saver mode
Great app. Does exactly what it claims to do. After a full day of skiing I still had over 25% battery on my Nexus 5X.
GPS does not work on Nexus 6P
Great for tracking distance skied for the day and season. A fun way to challenge friends.
GPS issue when putting in the pocket
For data logging in the slopes. This does it all. I really really love this app!
Good app, but seems not supporting Samsung watches.
Doesn't accurately record speed
Works as intended pretty much just used it for top speeds though.
Great app backed by real customer service. Kudos!
An accurate and interesting program that is useful to track my day
Great app. Been using for years now
Love it, works great
Just awesome
Nice app
A lot of great functionality for a free app. The only weird thing is some wild deviation in stats between iOS and android versions. I ski all day with friends running iOS, and usually one key stat, like vertical feet or number of runs, is way off among us. Can't really explain, can't be sure who's "right."
Great app downloaded as I forgot my garmin watch going skiing. Does the job, but I haven't found an auto-pause function when staying put for lunch etc. Is there one? If not please add! Then it would be five stars :)
Pretty good so far, haven't used it much yet. Would be totally rad if you could record video with mph or km/h on screen...that would be so sick. I would definitely pay extra for that!!
Best ski tracker I've used so far, well worth whatever I paid for it. It has all the features and more that I could ever want for analysing my ski day and always seems accurate. The android wear compatibility works great, it's easy to use even when access to your watch is restricted by gloves and thermals and coats as you just need to swipe to navigate the stats pages, each of which provide all the info you want without getting your phone out. Also it stays on the page you last left it on when the watch goes onto ambient/sleep so you can leave it on your favourite page for quicker access. Only thing is that it does use noticeably more battery life than normal if you leave it open acting as the watch face as it requires the watch to be constantly running the app. However it's not so bad that the my watch (lg watch r) can't last the ski day running ski tracks - it loses around 50% on a 7 hour ski day with ski tracks open compared to around 30/40% with the app just open on the phone and the watch on a normal face. Maybe a few ski tracks watch faces we could download from the store would better for battery life. One thing that would be good to see is google fit integration but that's not essential and I don't know if it's even possible.
Fun statistics and nice ready to use layout. Only problem is that when using with my Nexus 6P I get errors in the gps data, on my Nexus 6 it tracks smoothly and never had any errors. Also integration with Google Fit would be a nice addition.

Good for tracking runs and overlaying on maps but you can't trust the stats because it doesn't make any attempt at eliminating random GPS jumps. For instance today I did a walk through woodlands so set activity to snowshoe. During a half hour stop for coffee I reckon it added at least a half a mile because of the spurious jumps in position caused by the inherent inaccuracies of the GPS fix that you get especially under tree cover. It also recorded my maximum walking speed as 42mph.
