TRENDS in critical care nursing is jointly provided by Virtua and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter (SePA) of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). One of New Jersey’s largest health systems, Virtua’s mission is to help people be well, get well and stay well through a comprehensive range of health care services. AACN is the world's largest specialty nursing organization, with more than 100,000 members. SePA is the largest among 240 national chapters. Established first as the American Association of Cardiovascular Nursing, AACN's growth has directly paralleled the increasing importance of critical care nursing, as a specialty.
