APS March Meeting 2014 for Android
Too many technical and UI issues I don't know where to begin. Hire a company that has read the Android design guidelines and didn't port a first gen iOS app. Look at the Google I/O app as the right way to make a modern conference app. That should give you an idea on how backwards this app is.
After using this all week there are some modifications that would make it more functional. 1. A list of what sessions are happening right now 2. When going to the event schedule it should default to today (even current time) rather than Sunday. 3. A link from a talk or session description to the map showing where it is. 4. A home button on top so I don't have to push back 10 times to return to the home menu. Overall it was very helpful. Great improvements from last year!
This app caused my phone to crash. Now it hangs at start up. I'm an undergrad and can't afford a new one, and now I have a BRICK. APS should be ashamed to put this piece of crap out.
Please make some efforts into developing a real android app. Not just port from iOS. Google provides such easy access for both the source code and ui design. You make me feel like my APS registration money has gone to waste!
Clunky, slow, confusing, lack of features.
