The eGuide to Birds of East Africa is an interactive companion to Terry Stevenson and John Fanshawe's Birds of East Africa field guide – the essential guide for birdwatchers visiting this spectacular region. It covers Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. This application has specific features that will enhance your birding experience.
FEATURES:
- Hi-res images, distribution maps and detailed text descriptions of over 1300 bird species including breeding species and regular visitors.
- These images can be expanded to fill the entire width of the screen with zoom.
- Audible calls for more than 1000 bird species
- "Bird Compare" that allows you to compare two birds on the same screen.
- * A personal bird list that stores your bird sightings - including geolocation. Your list can also be exported to email.
- View the Bird Index by Common or Scientific bird names either alphabetically or taxonomically.
* Uninstalling/reinstalling the program will result in the loss of your list, it is recommended that you keep your own backup (master list) separate from the application (application provides backup/restore functionality in "My List" page)

New review : App has been fixed!!!! Thank you so much!!! It works great. Best app for East African birds. Old review: I used to think this is the best app, but not any more. After the last update it keeps telling me it has unexpectedly stopped workings and then kick out of the app. I have uninstalled and re-installed it twice. Please fix this!!!

Deleted my bird list that I started 18 months ago...Pretty disappointed that it did that. I am sure it wouldn't be that big a deal to prevent, so pretty shabby in my opinion from the developers. Also a lot of the voice calls are very poor quality or simply incorrect..

There is no good way to search if you don't know the bird. Also only drawings with no pictures. The app is ok but lacking for the price range.

Crashes when you scroll down to the seed eaters, very frustrating as this was once a spectacular app. The new upgrade put a hold to all of that!

Great companion on birding trips. Easy to access and use. Intuitive navigation. Taxonomy could be better coordinated with other international bodies so there wasn't disparities at the margins. I'd have paid more

Does not crash, also the backup works which did not earlier and very frustrating when I lost my database of 300+ birds in Kenya

It's good to have this app, quite helpful, though bird's calls need to be fixed a bit, it takes a few seconds of silence before starting

Help me... app is great and paid for it knowing that was what I was going to get but now it wants to re download and will not let me choose a storage device... hence I pulled it out to recommend to guests and it wouldn't even open. Embarrassing and not professional to say the least please fix and notify me when done si I can recommend to future guests of East Africa. Until then pole sana cannot recommend to anyone...

Do not buy as it does not work on S5 Galaxy and you will lose $30.

The update was really good. It didn't just fix the crash issue but it also made this app a bit more user friendly. Three things though; first the price, a bit expensive. Second, some of the the groups of birds (two anthreptes without obvious??? for example) can't be read. Third, the colors of the birds in the app are too intense.
