About Vigenere Cipher

This app lets you encode/decode messages using the Vigenere or Autokey ciphers and then copy the result to your clipboard or send it as a text message.

Enter a password/key and then enter your message - the app will then encode it as well-scrambled gibberish! Highly recommended for spies of all experience levels as well as for those who simply enjoy the allure of cryptography. It is simple, effective, and sure to confuse the bad guys.

This is my first app; I hope you like it. I'd feel great if you could give it a positive review ;). Constructive criticism appreciated as well!

Don't assume your typing is correct if you want your message to code/decode correctly. Check it for accuracy. A good way to generate 'random' passwords. Just code "gogglepassword" , for example, to get a random password. Then just code it again to 'remember' it. You don't have to write the password down anyplace. Rember your key.

I entered a key and a short message and told it to encode. I got a coded message that I emailed to my second account. I then copied the coded message into the app, reentered the key and told it to decode. I got back my short message just like I should. Then I closed and reopened the app and repeated the decoding steps. FAILURE!!! Where did my message go? It did not decode properly. I got the first three letters and then gibberish. AND, what is the "autokey" box for?. It did not fix the failure.

I entered the keyword and the cypher, verified both and got nothing. It appears that this app does not reliably work. That makes it rather useless.

Cool. I was just watching a YouTube video on encryption. One day quantum super-imposed state computers can solve these Ciphers. But, they already have a plan to make a new kind of encryption based on quantum entanglement. Reaseach was being done by some guys in Imperial College of London I think. Cool app. Thansk

Very timesaving. Could use a tutorial section and explain what autokey does though.
